This is the feedback thread for the 20 Mumsnetters who tried the Kenwood kCook.

Here’s what the people at Kenwood say, “Whipping up a one-pot wonder for your family has never been easier thanks to the new kCook cooking food processor from Kenwood which not only chops and stirs, but also cooks delicious dishes at the touch of a few buttons. All this, plus a fantastic specially-developed recipe app to provide a little inspiration at every meal time, makes the kCook the new must-have kitchen essential.

The three bowl tools coupled with the app make the laborious tasks of thinking up a meal, preparing ingredients and endlessly stirring over a hot stove a thing of the past. Simply follow one of over 200 recipes available on the app, or adapt them to your taste using the kCook’s manual modes which allow the speeds and temperatures to be changed.”

Testers, we’d like you to answer the below questions:

Q1. How would you describe the kCook to friends or family who had never heard of it before? What was your overall impression of it?

Q2. How easy, or not, did you find to use the kCook? What time saving tips did you find when using the kCook?

Q3. What family meals did you create with the kCook? Did they go down well with your family? We’d love it if you could post some pictures of your dishes on this thread.

Q4. Did you use the Kenwood recipe app? If so, what did you think of it? Did you discover new recipes you hadn’t tried before?

Q5. If it came up in conversation, do you think you’d recommend the kCook to friends and family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Non-testers, what’s your favourite dish to make in a food processor? Everyone who adds their thoughts to this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win their own kCook.

Thanks
MNHQ

Occasionally as a steamer but mostly it's just taking up counter space. Shame - I was so excited about it!

I was a tester - no I'm not still using it, it's just taking up cupboard space.

Why? Mainly because I had to follow the recipes quite closely which slowed me down and following the app from my phone was a pia.

I don't think it is worth the money.
Are there any in eBay yet? Wink

Just wondering how people are getting on with theirs. I am new to it and don't know where to start (not a product tester). Are people still using it and what do you think? Is it worth the money? Also, what are you making? I did download the app but it crashed my phone (too many bloomin children's games and little memory). Any hints and tips gratefully received. Smile

Tester:

I used the kCook again the other night to make bolognese - two batches, one to go into lasagne and one to eat then. Reduced the liquid going in, and took the steam vent thing out for 10 minutes of the cooking time. Much better as it was far less wet.

Was nice to make the bolognese for the lasagne as I ate my other batch Grin

Still expensive for what it is though and I could make most of the things I'll cook in it in the slow cooker if I were better organised

Non tester. I like making massaman curry, it'd be handy to chop up all the ingredients & cook it as well!

I use mine to make the kind of spaghetti bolognese that even the husband will eat. Isn't it weird how even the fussiest man will eat vegetables they can't see!

Just posted my review on the other page too.

Just wanted to warn other users - be very careful when using chop function with the hot soup. I forgot to change the stirring thingy for the chopper, and the machine started juddering all over the place. Then the cover for the steam vent flew off and I got spattered with boiling liquid. Thankfully kids weren't around and I just have a very mild scald.

Soup was nice though (leek and potato).

Hmm...this has gone very quiet with testers.

Do you think you will continue to use the kCook?

I am totally not decided..I have a slow cooker, a pressure cooker, a magimix and a vitamix and they are all well used. The pressure cooker and the vitamin are my favourite and I don't think the Kcook can do anything as well as they do.

I love the idea of the kCook but think it needs a lot of development so actually get there!
