Aldi have asked us to find 250 Mumsnetters to test out their Mamia nappies with their DCs.

Here’s what Aldi say, “We’re looking for 250 Mumsnetters to try Aldi’s award-winning Mamia nappies. Dermatologically tested and hypoallergenic, our nappies are available in Aldi stores nationwide.

“Aldi’s Mamia nappies are fast becoming one of the UK’s favourite choice for babies from newborns to toddlers. The Ultra Dry Range scooped Gold at the Mother & Baby Awards for the second year running and has also been successful at the Lovedbyparents Awards, scooping Golds for the Size 3 Mamia Ultra Dry Midi Nappies and Size 4+ Mamia Ultra Dry Maxi+ Nappies. They also recently picked up the Bounty Mums Love Gold Best Private Label Nappy award.

“Aldi’s Mamia range is committed to offering savvy mums the best quality nappies for their little ones.

“As the range has been so successful in awards, we’d like to put them to the test with Mumsnetters as we really value your opinion. As ever, you are the experts and we’d love to hear your feedback.”

This product test is open to all UK Mumsnetters who have at least one child who is wearing nappies in one of the sizes below.

Size 1: 2-5kg/4-11lbs (newborn babies)
Size 2: 3-6kg/6-13lb (larger newborn babies & up to 3 or 4 months)

Woke up this morning to a soaking wet baby and a growbag full of poo. Not off to the best start but to be fair I don't think our usual brand would have contained that shit storm either. Will continue to use them. No problem with leaks during the day yesterday. See how it goes tonight.

MummyBtothree · 20/03/2015 11:02

I found they couldn't cope with the night shift, my sons vest was wet this morning and poo had come out of the leg cuff. I also think they leave him smelling 'tiddly, not locking the urine away like some other brands.

Buglife · 20/03/2015 11:43

Got them in size 3 which DS is now just at the end of weight wise, but they don't seem tight so they are generous. they don't smell strongly of chemicals like Pampers. Haven't done an overnight yet, they seem very absorbant but DS feeds a lot overnight so his nappy is like a football some mornings, if I don't change him around 4am feed. Which I like to avoid!

SweetPeaPods · 20/03/2015 14:24

Teaandhobnobs congratulations!! Thanks

Mine came yesterday while I was out so will pop to post office tomorrow to collect. Can't remember which ds I put down now!

AuntieMaggie · 20/03/2015 15:10

I've had a while you were out card from the postman today asking for £9.00 as there wasn't enough postage on whatever it is and I'm hoping it isn't these nappies though I'm not waiting for anything else!

Frenchie84 · 20/03/2015 15:42

@ auntieMaggie,
I have a parcel to pick up for £9.00 too ... I was thinking it could be them too ...

AuntieMaggie · 20/03/2015 16:19

Frenchie84 I won't be paying it if it is.

duzzlightyearsmum · 20/03/2015 17:09

Have been using them since yesterday and so far so good! We've got size 3 and DD is about in the middle of the weight for them. They seem huge particularly by comparison to the pampers we had been using. They've done their job so far though. They feel quite rough though so I'm waiting to see if they'll irritate DDs very sensitive skin

GlitterTwinkleToes · 20/03/2015 17:34

Been using them since yesterday afternoon. Quite surprised of the quality of them, thought they'd feel cheap and horrible, pleasantly surprised about that. I have noticed that about an hour after wearing them they start to sag down DD is a serial pisser Pampers last usually about 2 1/2 hours. Woke up this morning at 9am to DD completely soaked through after changing her at 3am. Anyone else had the problem that the tabs on some of the nappies don't actually stick down, I've had to tape them down on two so far.

AuntieMaggie · 21/03/2015 08:46

I'm actually quite cross now - I've just been to the post office and it was the nappies. So I've had to drive out of my way with a baby in tow to reject a parcel that someone (either mumsnet or aldi) didn't bother to put any postage on at all. I rejected it because it would have cost me twice as much as buying the nappies myself and there's no guarantee of getting the money back.

Frenchie84 · 21/03/2015 11:55

@AuntieMaggie, I didn't go to the post office yet but emailed the mumsnet lady about it. I won't be picking it up if I'm not being compensated for it.

HollyJollyDillydolly · 21/03/2015 14:57

Had a poo incident this afternoon, dd poohed up her Back and over the top of the nappy somehow. Not sure how she managed to do that as she's on her feet all the time not laying down like a young baby!

RumAppleGinger · 21/03/2015 19:07

Last night's nappy didn't do the job again. DS was soaked through this morning and this afternoon he poo'd whilst in his car seat and it all leaked out through the sides. I will continue to used them through the day but I'm back to Pampers for the night shift. So far I haven't been convinced to swap over to Aldi nappies.
