Miele are looking for 10 Mumsnetters to test out their G6410SC Dishwasher.

Here's what Miele say, "The G6410SC freestanding dishwasher will provide you with the opportunity to run a more economical wash cycle whenever you need to clean your dishes and glassware. With a high energy efficiency rating of A+++, you can reduce the amount you need to spend on running an appliance within your home."

If selected, you'll be sent the Miele G6410SC to try for a few weeks and so long as you add feedback as required you will be able to keep the product.

If selected, you will be sent the Miele G6410SC towards the end of October, and asked to try it for two weeks. You will then need to try it and add feedback to a thread on Mumsnet. At the end of the testing period, we'd also like you to post a review on the Mumsnet review pages. In order to keep the product, you would need to add your feedback by the 23rd of November, so please only apply if you are able to do this.

Please note: testers will be receiving the Miele G6410SC in brilliant white. The G6410SC is a freestanding dishwasher, which is 60 cm wide by 60 cm deep. Please only apply if you are able to fit this dishwasher in your kitchen.

5 of the 10 participants may also need to film a few videos. Those MNers will receive an additional £50 voucher to spend on dishwasher detergents in the Miele online shop as a thank you for filming.

Thanks and good luck,

Mines due to come today. They told me they'd install it to. I hope so!
But I don't know when. I was told I would get a 2 hour slot sent to me yesterday, I didn't. And I have to go out later as it's ds1s assembly and it's the only time he's EVER had something to say!

OwlCapone · 11/11/2014 11:56

I didn't get told a slot but I was phoned this morning at 8am to say they would be with me at 930.

IneedAwittierNickname · 11/11/2014 11:58

Thanks owl as long as they don't phone and say it will be here at 1pm! Or maybe I've got or wrong and it's coming next week Confused

DillydollyRIP · 11/11/2014 12:20

Strange why some are being installed and some not. My dad's a plumber but he was here this weekend and not seeing him until christmas now as he doesn't live close by.
Will have to wait and see if it gets fitted on Thursday and find someone if not - unless it's easy enough to do?!

OwlCapone · 11/11/2014 12:27

Mine wasn't installed entirely down to my own fault. However, had they been less prompt with their deliver, all would have been fine :)

The way I see it, I've got a free £900 dishwasher. If I can't plumb it in I can pay a plumber and still be in "profit". Generally speaking, they aren't difficult to do though.

OwlCapone · 11/11/2014 12:28

IneedAwittierNickname I think there was an element of "Is this OK?" to the phone call so there might be some room for flexibility.

IneedAwittierNickname · 11/11/2014 12:31

I hope so Owl ds will be so upset if I miss his assembly. I think I'm going to go and sit near the back with my phone on vibrate so I can answer iif I need to. I'll only be 2 mins from home

MrsMarigold · 11/11/2014 13:07

The guys who delivered it installed it in the utility room. They said it would have water in it OwlCapone - apparently better for it or something ... The guy also said to put in two litres of water in the salt holder before you put the salt in to prevent corrosion, never heard that before but it makes sense.

It's so quiet I had to keep checking it was on. I also burnt a pot of potatoes last night so it's getting a real workout.

MrsMarigold · 11/11/2014 13:09

I hope the assembly went well and dishwasher is good. Smile

IneedAwittierNickname · 11/11/2014 13:52

Well I'm back from assembly. No missed calls/notes through the letter box/dishwashers on the door step!

IneedAwittierNickname · 11/11/2014 15:28

Well its here. They couldn't plumb in it because of something to do with the waste pipe.

Have the say the delivery drivers were rude! Well one if them was.

OwlCapone · 11/11/2014 15:32

Oh dear. Mine were fine.

I might not be able to use the dishwasher yet but DD is thoroughly enjoying the box :o When do children grow out of liking a box? I think even DS1 who is nearly 16 still enjoys a giant cardboard box in the privacy of his own home :)

IneedAwittierNickname · 11/11/2014 15:36

I'd love a box. They unpacked mine on the van so no packaging here!
he moaned that the roads were Narrow and that he struggled to get down here. Erm sorry about that! Then he was all snotty because I don't already have a dishwasher hence the lack of plumbing Confused

OwlCapone · 11/11/2014 15:42

I asked them to leave it :)

TBH, if you don't have the plumbing for a dishwasher, they where never going to be able to fit it.

IneedAwittierNickname · 11/11/2014 15:49

No I know that and it's not a problem. I'll be able to buy the extension thing j need and get it done.

It's just the tone he spoke to me in!

Having never had a dishwasher before I had no idea what plumbing was needed!

OwlCapone · 11/11/2014 18:43

Nothing complicated - same as a washing machine. Cold water inlet and drain pipe.

I was right about the box - I've just foundDS1 in it playing on his ipad. He is 6 ft tall. :o

DillydollyRIP · 11/11/2014 18:53

Everyone loves a box. I got a humongous box with an amazon delivery, my dc took it in turns to sit in it, (17m - 11yrs) they called it their hobo box and would sit in with a blanket and cushion Blush

IneedAwittierNickname · 11/11/2014 20:15

The delivery man said it needed a hot water inlet Confused it's ok. My landlady said if I book the plumber she uses she'll pay for it to be done Grin

DillydollyRIP · 11/11/2014 20:32

I thought dishwashers were like washing machines, cold water feed only using the heating element to heat the water.

IneedAwittierNickname · 11/11/2014 20:51

Maybe I should be glad they couldn't plumb it in then! Well I assume he was going to put it on the hot water as he asked of my washing machine ran on hot and cold or just cold. When I said just cold he said that was good as it meant the hot pipe was free Confused

OwlCapone · 11/11/2014 20:58

Sounds like you had a narrow escape!!

IneedAwittierNickname · 11/11/2014 21:07

Unless the hot feed can somehow be made cold. Ah well like I said I've been permitted to book a plumber so I guess he will know what's what!

DillydollyRIP · 12/11/2014 10:16

How many still waiting for their dishwashers?
Has anyone heard if you need to film videos?

Bicnod · 12/11/2014 10:21

k8vincent - the delivery drivers installed mine.

Not heard anything yet about how to leave feedback...
