We've been asked by Kärcher to find 15 UK based Mumsnetters to put their SC2.500C Steam Cleaner to the test.

Kärcher say "The Kärcher SC2.500C Steam Cleaner makes light work of grease, dirt, stains and even limescale, delivering deep cleaning results with no chemicals or scrubbing. It kills 99.9% of bacteria with just the power of steam, and can be used on most surfaces around the home."

This product test is open to all UK Mumsnetters.

The 15 chosen MNers will need to be:

  • Available to receive the steam cleaner, and willing to test it over two weeks (14-27th April). Please only apply if you're available during this time.
  • Able to leave feedback on the feedback thread at least twice: we'd like first impressions and then some comments after you've used the cleaner a few times. You'll also be asked to add a review to the steam cleaner review section on MN.

5 of the 15 participants may also need to film a few videos on their smartphone (via an app we'll need you to download). Those MNers will receive an additional £50 Amazon.co.uk voucher as a thank you for filming.

Everyone who takes part in the product test and leaves their feedback as requested gets to keep the Kärcher steam cleaner after testing (RRP £ 232.09).

If you'd like to take part please sign up here.

Thanks and good luck!

I'm so excited! I've been chosen! Thank you MN!

I am going to have a clean house! I may even be able to let people see my hideous shower!

A wonderful weekend not cleaning anything in order to give the Karcher a full and proper test. Our scummy bathroom awaits you Grin

I didn't clean my bathroom yesterday and won't today, although if it doesn't come by tomorrow I'll have to do it so I can use the toilet!

I wonder when it will arrive? I'm desperate to have a go. I've got my parents visiting at Easter, so will have to clean this week, so I hope it arrives in time for me to use it. I can't exactly say "the house is dirty because my steam cleaner hasn't arrived".

I got twitchy, I cleaned the bathroom Sad I couldn't handle not knowing when it would be clean.
I promise if I can't find anything dirty to clean at mine or mils, I'll definitely take it to sil's house, they had plenty of grubby rooms!

Anyone else heard more? I emailed to ask when we might hear further

No, not heard anything else yet. The email did say "early next week" so I took that to mean before Wednesday. Grin

I've had an email to ask if I still want to do videos in exchange for £50 amazon voucher.
I'd planned to do a couple of vids anyway but I'll not complain!

It's only Monday, it imd the very start of the week, I'll start fretting by tomorrow afternoon as that's sort of the transition between early week-midweek.

Grin at "the house is dirty because my steam cleaner hasn't arrived."

No email about doing videos here, but I guess a bloated and waddling 8 month pregnant woman brandishing a steam loaded weapon while threatening family and pets not to mess up the house is probably not the sort of images they're after. Grin

So... should I leave all the cleaning until next year just in case I get picked that time?

Yes mistle choose a corner and leave it, show enthusiasm for next time lol
Although if they want to see really dirty things being cleaned they've picked the wrong germophobe.
Although I have enlisted the help of a grubby tiled floor, apparently it shouldn't have black grout, and possibly parts of sil's house.
There's not really any muck in my house so I've had to borrow other peoples, oddly they seem very keen Wink
