We've been asked by Kärcher to find 15 UK based Mumsnetters to put their SC2.500C Steam Cleaner to the test.

Kärcher say "The Kärcher SC2.500C Steam Cleaner makes light work of grease, dirt, stains and even limescale, delivering deep cleaning results with no chemicals or scrubbing. It kills 99.9% of bacteria with just the power of steam, and can be used on most surfaces around the home."

This product test is open to all UK Mumsnetters.

The 15 chosen MNers will need to be:

  • Available to receive the steam cleaner, and willing to test it over two weeks (14-27th April). Please only apply if you're available during this time.
  • Able to leave feedback on the feedback thread at least twice: we'd like first impressions and then some comments after you've used the cleaner a few times. You'll also be asked to add a review to the steam cleaner review section on MN.

5 of the 15 participants may also need to film a few videos on their smartphone (via an app we'll need you to download). Those MNers will receive an additional £50 Amazon.co.uk voucher as a thank you for filming.

Everyone who takes part in the product test and leaves their feedback as requested gets to keep the Kärcher steam cleaner after testing (RRP £ 232.09).

If you'd like to take part please sign up here.

Thanks and good luck!

I did this last year and was pleasantly surprised by it. I don't use it often (and haven't at all through the winter as we have condensation problems, anyhow) but it makes a big difference when I do use it.

Also found it handy for cleaning stubborn ancient wallpaper gunk off a wall when I did one of the B&Q challenges :o

Forget Ghostbusters with their overalls and equipment, I desperately want to be a Steam Buster and guarantee I'd be on a mission, tiled floors, soft furnishings, shower screens, sanitaryware, you name it.
If it can be steam cleaned, I'd be on it Grin

I'm dribbling at the thought of getting my hands on one of these.

MiddleyGrip's chronically ill with asthma and stupid dust mites contribute to the drama.

Steam cleaners kill dustmites, allegedly. If that's true, well, I'll be able to tell you. I show them no mercy, and would thoroughly enjoy blasting the wee bugger soff of any and every surface.

and, anything that cuts down on the bloody wet dusting would be welcome
