We used our pebbles to recreate the surface of an alien planet as my boy's space rocket cake had all gone. I just about got the photo before they started to disappear - maybe to Area 51 ?

I left DSS in charge of this task and he produced these and said they were 'Owl biscuits'. I asked why there were so few used on the biscuits and he said 'there weren't many in a packet' Hmm

Finally I can add my/our creation,

this is dd 2nd birthday cake, we used pebbles for the eyes and the nose,

and then dd put the pebbles in front of the teddy saying he was sitting in the middle of a flower field,

sadly the next day they had all turned grey, so had to be removed as it was a bit of a dead flowers look which wasn't great, but we kept the pebbles on eyes and nose

Well, I looked at everyone else's pictures and thought I'm never going to do better than those! So, I opted for the quick easy cake. Gluten free chocolate brownies (dh & ds2 are gluten free). Pebbles are gluten free so worked well. Yum!

To be honest, we liked them in the brownies as the shell softened, but were not keen on them just as pebbles. There seemed to be more shell than chocolate. As someone else said, a lot of them were chipped.

I have a confession to make.... DH ate them before I had chance to make anything. He sees all unhidden chocolate as fair game. He did say they were very nice though.

DDs loved the colours of the pebbles and they decided they would be perfect for fish scales, so we were going to do a fish cake. I haven't been able to find a replacement package as yet. I'll keep trying. I love all the pictures up here. I'll be showing them to the DDs and see if they still want to make a fish.

Tiggles · 07/10/2013 11:10

Belo our local Sainsburys have them on offer for a pound at the moment. (Had to replace ours too for same reason!)

I made a fruit trifle on the weekend and got my son to help decorate it. Surely the best bit was bashing up the sponge fingers with a rolling pin!? With a palm tree design and crushed sponge finger beach with pebbles on top. Plus a sprinkling of the paltry chocolate sprinkles that come in the box - couldn't let them go to waste. My son couldn't wait to try it, his dad loved it too - had a second helping.

Another attempt to use up the pebbles - though having resisted the temptation to just eat them, there are probably enough left for another go at some point.

Along with some homemade sugarpaste decorations - we covered some choc chip fairy cakes made earlier today with chocolate icing and tried to make some funny faces with the various decorations we had.

We had great fun using the chocolate to decorate fairy cakes as a variety of animals. We made an owl, hedgehog, a pig and a few others. I'm making a big owl cake for for my DN's birthday and will be buying the Pebbles for this.

Ah it has come out the right way up after all!

Our pebbles arrived two days before we moved house so there was no baking stuff unpacked to make anything.

Undeterred dd2 (3) and I ploughed on and made a flower field with bees and a sun. Dd wants you to look at the extra special soil that she did "all by my elf"...

I should add -we then enjoyed choosing which bits of the picture we would eat next.... Got a good few hours days out of that bit :-). Thanks!

we tried to decorate a bowl of angel delight, but I learnt a valuable lesson - decorating something with chocolate is NOT a task that can be done unsupervised whilst mummy cooks dinner.

Needless to say, I was lovingly presented with an empty bowl and two very chocolatey children (4 and 1 yo) who wouldn't eat dinner...

They liked the pebbles though :o

Sunny2013 · 07/10/2013 23:25

I had 3 very willing helpers in this task( the making and eating parts anyway) to make yummy things that we could decorate with Cadbury Pebbles. The favourite way of using these was straight into the mouth , We made a Cadbury backdrop and bunting for our treats, and made a Rainbow Swiss roll, Chocolate Banoffi squares, Flower biscuits , Halloween Pumpkin biscuits , and light blue biscuits cut out in Cadbury letters .... all topped with tasty Cadbury Pebbles xxx If anyone wants any of the recipes please let me know and I will share .... Just an idea please Mumsnet HO .... for the next competition ,please put it in the T&C's that all DC's MUST help with the washing up and tidying away before eating any treats please :-)

My 3 year old daughter and I had fun making this cake. Basic Victoria Sponge cake with vanilla cream icing. The pebbles were good for decorating with but quite a few were chipped so if you were very fussy about decorating this isn't the best. We had fun making and eating this so thanks for letting us product test the Pebbles. I probably would buy other Cadbury sweets before I bought these though.

We had great fun with this "challenge"! My niece loves coming over to bake with my daughter so we were all very excited to get cooking once the pebbles had arrived. My daughter (1) loves a little bit of chocolate cake here and there so we wanted to make something "cakey" so she could have a bit too, and my niece (8) said the pebbles gave her the idea of Rocky Road.

So here is our creation.... The base is a chocolate sponge with milk chocolate added to the mix, and the top layer is rocky road (rice cripies, marshmallows, raisins and chocolate buttons mixed into melted dairy milk) and lots of pebbles scattered over the top!

We all agreed the pebbles are very yummy and would like to say a HUGE thank you to Mumsnet and Cadbury for letting us have a try! Here's a photo of a slice of our Rocky Road cake creation!! Really enjoyed looking over the other creations on this thread, everything looks so tasty!!

Ta-da! Here are DD's (2) creations! The one on the left is a lion, the one on the right is a bird (or a chicken to be more precise)!!

We had a lot of fun making them, DD is covered in chicken pox (hence why the one on the right is a chicken) so this cheered her up no end and made her quarantine more bearable :-)

The pebbles are yummy, and so impressed with all the creations above, some talented bakers on MN!

DD (6) and DS (4) used our pebbles as colourful fingernails for some Vampire Lady Fingers, a spooky Halloween treat!
