As part of our partnership with B&Q, we're looking for 20 MNers who want to wave farewell to their unloved garden. Is it more of a jungle than a lawn? A patio that's seen better days? Or just a wizened window box?

Here is what B&Q say about their unloved gardens initiative: "This summer, we're launching a new initiative to help Britain say goodbye to its unloved rooms and gardens. Most homes have one - a spare room that's more of a cupboard, a tired and broken bathroom from a different era, even an overgrown garden that's become a jungle. With our vast range of home decoration products and simple expert advice, we want more people to see that making a big difference doesn't need to be difficult or expensive. Whether it's picking the right look, choosing the right products, at the right price or simply finding out how to make it happen, we're making sure you'll find it all under one roof at B&Q."

If you're selected to take part you'll:

  • Be sent a £300 B&Q gift card to spend as you wish on materials to transform your unloved garden
  • Need to be available to complete your garden revamp between 5-21 July (we appreciate that's not tonnes of time so please only sign up if you're up for the challenge!)
  • Write feedback on how your revamp is going during that time on a thread on MN
  • Need to send in photos to MNHQ of before, during and after the revamp

10 of the 20 participants may also need to film their revamp process on their smartphone (via an app we'll need you to download). Those MNers will receive an additional £25 B&Q gift card as a thank you for doing filming.

B&Q would also like participants to attend a You Can Do It class in store if possible - this would be free of charge but they're only available in certain stores. This isn't essential to taking part but please indicate on the sign up form (link below) which store you could get to if you would like to attend.

If you'd like to take part, please sign up here.

Any queries, please post them here.

Thanks and good luck

Does this include front gardens?

wannabedomesticgoddess · 26/06/2013 19:50

Done. I realise my ideas sound very boring.

Hoping the session thingy would give inspiration.

LegoAcupuncture · 26/06/2013 20:07

Oooo done! Would love this!

MildlyMiserable · 26/06/2013 20:45

My garden could do with a revamp, when my DF mowed the lawn this weekend he also mowed away the majority of the plants bordering it!

Missymjf · 26/06/2013 21:09

Done would love to get involved in this x

ouryve · 26/06/2013 21:11

Hah! Our garden's still a building site from when we had the garage built 2 years ago. I don't think 3 weeks will quite cover this one! (And I still haven't physically recovered form decorating the boys' room at lightning speed!)

Openyourheart · 26/06/2013 21:16

Done. I'd love to tackle the mess of a corner that I have.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 26/06/2013 21:41

Done! My garden is sad and barren.

threesypeesy · 26/06/2013 22:00

Done! Would love this family project to kick off the summer holidays and leave us plenty of time to enjoy it if lucky enough

candyflosscloud · 26/06/2013 22:08

Done. Hope I am lucky enough to take part. I really want to revamp the garden that I have just been given (not long moved) and especially as the fence blew down a month ago! D:

TerraNotSoFirma · 26/06/2013 22:14

Done.

BlackeyedSusan · 26/06/2013 22:29

a bit bloody tough if you do not own a smart phone.

Dysgu · 26/06/2013 22:41

BlackeyedSusan I read it that you only need a smartphone if you agree to video. I don't own one and really really have everything crossed to win this one!

Mumsnet DP does have a smartphone if it is a necessity to being chosen - I don't know what it is apart from the fact it has an apple on the back!

Please choose us - we are sooooooo in need of getting our garden sorted - and it is only a small space so £300 would really go a long way and would make such a difference.

UserError · 26/06/2013 23:00

Sent! Sorry for my wall of text, I hope you take my rambling as proof of enthusiasm and not proof that I need a straitjacket.

Babycarmen · 27/06/2013 11:50

This would be perfect for us! FX!

Tee2072 · 27/06/2013 15:07

Damn. I'll be on holiday. I am also in a rented house.

ldt87 · 27/06/2013 15:07

Ooh just entered this. Fingers crossed, I'd be so excited to sort my garden out, it's very much in need of a complete overhaul.

Madondogs · 27/06/2013 15:11

Done! Want this SO much, my garden is in desperate need of a loving touchGrin

WibbleBoy · 27/06/2013 15:15

I've been meaning to sort out our bombsite garden for ages now. It's in dire need of a path, fence and some steps, and some weeding, and a tidy up... and possibly some furniture; though I did actually manage to get a gate up last year. This would be a definite incentive ;)

Forgetfulmog · 27/06/2013 15:25

Ooh I would love to win this! I cant sit out in my garden atm as its just a bit of a state & full of cat poo. We really need to re-turf & get some new furniture & this would really help us to do that.

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 27/06/2013 15:35

I've done it.

My garden is an embarrassment.Sad

MummyBtothree · 27/06/2013 16:12

OMG so hope I am chosen, we would be sooooooo over the moon!!

JazzAnnNonMouse · 27/06/2013 16:16

Done! Fingers crossed!!

Glitterfairys · 27/06/2013 16:36

I would love to revamp our garden and make it a safe and enjoyable space for my boys to play in. Fingers crossed were picked 😃
