As part of our partnership with B&Q, we're looking for 20 MNers who want to wave farewell to their unloved garden. Is it more of a jungle than a lawn? A patio that's seen better days? Or just a wizened window box?

Here is what B&Q say about their unloved gardens initiative: "This summer, we're launching a new initiative to help Britain say goodbye to its unloved rooms and gardens. Most homes have one - a spare room that's more of a cupboard, a tired and broken bathroom from a different era, even an overgrown garden that's become a jungle. With our vast range of home decoration products and simple expert advice, we want more people to see that making a big difference doesn't need to be difficult or expensive. Whether it's picking the right look, choosing the right products, at the right price or simply finding out how to make it happen, we're making sure you'll find it all under one roof at B&Q."

If you're selected to take part you'll:

  • Be sent a £300 B&Q gift card to spend as you wish on materials to transform your unloved garden
  • Need to be available to complete your garden revamp between 5-21 July (we appreciate that's not tonnes of time so please only sign up if you're up for the challenge!)
  • Write feedback on how your revamp is going during that time on a thread on MN
  • Need to send in photos to MNHQ of before, during and after the revamp

10 of the 20 participants may also need to film their revamp process on their smartphone (via an app we'll need you to download). Those MNers will receive an additional £25 B&Q gift card as a thank you for doing filming.

B&Q would also like participants to attend a You Can Do It class in store if possible - this would be free of charge but they're only available in certain stores. This isn't essential to taking part but please indicate on the sign up form (link below) which store you could get to if you would like to attend.

If you'd like to take part, please sign up here.

Any queries, please post them here.

Thanks and good luck
MNHQ

MNHQ Baring in mind how tight the timescales are on this, do you know when you will be notifying those who have been selected?

TequilaMockinBird · 28/06/2013 20:36

Done. Would love to do this, my garden is very boring and miserable, needs some TLC and this would give us the kick up the bum that we need to do it!

Doughnutmaestro · 28/06/2013 20:46

Oh well balls!
The exact time we will be on the only holiday we are likely to ever get. :-(

Dysgu · 28/06/2013 21:01

I would so LOVE this - today I have been studying gardens on the school run and then went for a nose round B&Q to see if the ideas would work!

Everything crossed!

whiteandyellowiris · 28/06/2013 21:38

done, i'd like to do my front garden
and no I don't mean my pom pom, I mean my actual garden Grin

bet I don't bloody get picked

JakeBullet · 29/06/2013 08:51

I have applied, I applied last time as well for my garden but suspect B&Q looked out of the window at the rain and said "no way" before selecting all indoor projects. Grin

TheSitChewAceChien · 29/06/2013 11:43

Done!

fanoftheinvisibleman · 29/06/2013 12:55

Done. I'd love to pretty up my barren scrap of practicality!

CheshireSplat · 29/06/2013 14:02

Done. Fingers crossed...

timidviper · 29/06/2013 14:05

Our garden has the bare bones of a good place it just needs a bit of love to put some soul into it.

florencebabyjo · 29/06/2013 15:44

We would love this! My back garden has been taken over by the DC's, climbing frames, sandpits, swings. You get the picture. But my front garden could be a little sanctuary and maybe with a bit of a make over give the impression that civilised folks live in our house after all! I am imagining roses and lavender paths, maybe even geraniums in a pot by the door!

YourHandInMyHand · 29/06/2013 19:18

Link is not working for me. ?

TheFutureMrsB · 29/06/2013 19:56

ChocChaffinch · 29/06/2013 21:54

Mummybookworm · 29/06/2013 21:56

Done, will keep everything crossed Smile

halestone · 29/06/2013 22:47

Done, would love this as my 'garden' is a patch of soil with weeds in and some very unloved fences.

Snazzywaitingforsummer · 30/06/2013 00:46

Done!

JakeBullet · 30/06/2013 06:46

Not sure I will get picked as my one was too generalised. Suspect B&Q will go for clear visions of what people want to achieve.

I am really looking forward to the feedback thread though and to seeing what people do with their gardens.

5madthings · 30/06/2013 09:30

I have just realised i dont think i completed question 6 properly in that i described our garden now but not what i want to do with it!!! Duhhh mnhq any chance i can email you the answer to no 6 again so it can be added to my form?!!

Jamillalliamilli · 30/06/2013 15:39

The link refused to work before, and finally worked earlier today, but then I?m pretty sure it crashed as I pressed send, and has gone back to not working. :-(

I have all the questions and answers to them saved, don?t suppose there?s any chance of emailing them is there?

YourHandInMyHand · 30/06/2013 16:00

Link now working for me.

Done!

Hope I get picked, my garden could do with a bit of help.
