This thread is for the 250 Mumsnetters who have been trying out the new 2in1 recipe mixes from Schwartz.

Here's what they say: "The new 2in1 range offers two easy to use recipe mix sachets in one handy pack: one sachet flavours the main dish whilst the other contains a seasoning for a complementary side dish or topping. With five different varieties to choose from, and an easy recipe on the back of each pack, this is a great way to try out new dishes or transform an existing family favourite from ordinary to special."

Mumsnetters have been trying the following recipe mixes:

Below are some questions for you to answer but please do feel free to add any other comments you may also have. We'd like you to post at least 3 sets of feedback - answering the same questions for each recipe mix you try. Please also upload any pictures you take of your creations. We had two over the weekend, so will add them separately

Which 2in1 recipe mix did you try?
Southern Style Crunchy Chicken bites and BBQ Sauce

How would you rate this recipe mix out of 5 (1 being lowest and 5 highest)
5

What did you/your DCs think of the overall flavour of the product?
We all loved the flavour, I was hoping DD would be her normal fussy self and leave half of hers, but everyone cleared their plates

How easy, or difficult, did you find the 2in1 mix to use?
It was very easy to do - the only stress involved in the entire meal preparation was DP announcing 10 minutes before we were due to eat that he wanted homemade wedges with it

Did you follow the recipe on the back of the packet or did you add/take away any other ingredients?
I followed them exactly

Would you say the 2in1 recipe mix made your mealtimes easier at all? If so, why? If not, why not?
Definitely in this case, it was nice to know that DD was eating something relatively healthy and I knew that the chicken was organic and not highly processed

Do you think you will buy, or look to buy, Schwartz 2in1 recipe mixes in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?
I'd definitely look at buying this pack again

Overall, would you say you loved the 2in1 recipe mix, you liked it or you hated it?
I loved this one, my only small gripe would be that it would be nice to have a pack that does a larger quantity, we attempted to feed 4 lunch on the quantity recommended and it was a bit of a stretch.

MTBMummy · 24/06/2013 13:52

Which 2in1 recipe mix did you try?
Mediterranean chicken pasta + crispy crumb topping

How would you rate this recipe mix out of 5 (1 being lowest and 5 highest)
3-4

What did you/your DCs think of the overall flavour of the product?
It was ok, the flavour was nice, but it felt like there was something missing - DD refused to eat it, but doesn't like tomato based sauces

How easy, or difficult, did you find the 2in1 mix to use?
It was very easy to use, and made preparing lunch very simple

Did you follow the recipe on the back of the packet or did you add/take away any other ingredients?
We followed the instructions on the back - however we had some left over and added some chorizo, that definitely covered the something missing element

Would you say the 2in1 recipe mix made your mealtimes easier at all? If so, why? If not, why not?
Definitely - they're very quick and easy to prepare

Do you think you will buy, or look to buy, Schwartz 2in1 recipe mixes in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?
We'd buy it again, but definitely have it with chorizo or bacon added to the mix next time

Overall, would you say you loved the 2in1 recipe mix, you liked it or you hated it?
Overall liked it - but not my favorite

Madamecastafiore · 24/06/2013 14:31

Which 2in1 recipe mix did you try?
Chicken Tikka and Mint & Cucumber Raita

How would you rate this recipe mix out of 5 (1 being lowest and 5 highest)
4 - DS
5 - DH (his fave phrase for these tests has been 'Considering it is out of a packet!'

What did you/your DCs think of the overall flavour of the product?
DS - liked it but not as much as our local Inidian Restuarant apparently. He said it tasted very nice but he didn't like the smell very much - I am a bit?? as I really think he was just trying to think of something to say - the plate was scraped clean in record time so IMO he loved it.
DH - ate what DS didn't - he said really lovely flavour, made a meal out of something quite plain and impressed 'Considering it is out of a packet!'

How easy, or difficult, did you find the 2in1 mix to use?
DS & DH made this together - DS 8 yrs read the instructions and I think DH only helped him with the raw chicken and the grating of the cucumber - so if an 8 year old can do it, anyone can.

Did you follow the recipe on the back of the packet or did you add/take away any other ingredients?
We followed the instructions to the letter.

Would you say the 2in1 recipe mix made your mealtimes easier at all? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes it did make things easier - DH and I was going out to dinner and I was at a bit of a loss as to what to feed DS as DD was already out and found a pack of chicken in the freezer and voila - instant, exciting dinner for DS (and pre dinner snackette for DH). Normally I would have pulled a lasagne out of the freezer - which I am loathe to do as I DS doesn't like ready meals but the chicken with vegetable rice was perfect for him.

Do you think you will buy, or look to buy, Schwartz 2in1 recipe mixes in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?
Most certainly - if they are sold in Waitrose I will most certainly buy this one again.

Overall, would you say you loved the 2in1 recipe mix, you liked it or you hated it?
I liked it and as for someone that has never bought a packet mix in her life I would say I am somewhat a convert.

(My photo has DS in it so didn't post it sorry)

Madamecastafiore · 24/06/2013 14:41

Which 2in1 recipe mix did you try?
Garlic & Thyme Chicken & Crispy Roast Potatoes

How would you rate this recipe mix out of 5 (1 being lowest and 5 highest)
DCs - 5
DH - 5
Me - 5

What did you/your DCs think of the overall flavour of the product?
They loved it - DS said the crispy potato coating was better than the M&S Roast Potato Seasoning which we usually use and DD said made chicken taste like stuffing (which for my kids is Heaven)

How easy, or difficult, did you find the 2in1 mix to use?
Really easy to use (well DH did)

Did you follow the recipe on the back of the packet or did you add/take away any other ingredients?
He apparently followed the recipe to the letter.

Would you say the 2in1 recipe mix made your mealtimes easier at all? If so, why? If not, why not?
No easier to be honest we would have put seasoning on the potatoes anyway but would not have seasoned the chicken other than with salt and pepper but considering how it turned out was well worth the little extra hassle.

Do you think you will buy, or look to buy, Schwartz 2in1 recipe mixes in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?
If they are sold in Waitrose most certainly.

Overall, would you say you loved the 2in1 recipe mix, you liked it or you hated it?
DH & I liked it.
DCs loved it.

lottietiger · 24/06/2013 15:05

We had the roast chicken & crispy potatoes yesterday, the two coatings were very easy to make although I would reduce the amount of oil I used next time. The chicken was nice & moist but the potatoes were too crispy for me, my OH liked them though. The chicken cold next day was absolutely delicious, made a good salad and sandwiches.
rating 3/5

ilovepicnmix · 24/06/2013 17:49

I tried the roast chicken and pots last night. I'd score it as 4. Just me and my boy who is nearly one. I had it with salad and coleslaw and he had it with carrots and broccoli. I wouldnt normally use packets but it was nice for a change. I don't eat the skin on chicken so not sure I really appreciated the flavour fully but the chicken was moist and my son enjoyed both. It was easy and I followed the instructions exactly. I wouldnt say that the pack made mealtime easier as this is not normally how I would cook. I would buy it again as an occasional treat. I would say I liked it and I think my boy would say the same if he could speak!

Manchesterhistorygirl · 24/06/2013 17:53

Just finished the Mediterranean chicken.

It was fairly terrible. Easy enough to use, but no easier than a normal pasta bake and the crunchy topping had an odd taste and aftertaste. The sauce was really watery. A resounding 1/5 in this house.

I would absolutely not buy this one again. Not would I recommend it to my friends. If I'd had this one first I probably would avoid the rest, especially if I had actually bought it.

cocolepew · 24/06/2013 18:07

Tonight we had them Mediterranean chicken

I would give it 3, DD1-2, DH -4, DD2-5.

I thought it was a bit bland and too watery.DD1 didnt like it, DD2 loved it, DH isn't that fused on any type of pasta bake. I enjoyed the crunchy topping.

It was very easy to use.

I used mince, a small bit of chilli, onion and mushroom , so completely different!

It made more dishes, I never make pasta bake I can't see the point of putting it all into another dish after its cooked.

I wouldn't but this again but DD2 thinks I should.

I would say the average was we liked it.

I think if I had used the chicken it would had been less watery, a lot of juice came out of the mine.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 24/06/2013 18:10

I wasn't sent the garlic bites one, but was sent a second garlic and thyme roast chicken one, so I have the second roast chicken in the oven at the moment.

Like last time I didn't just score the chicken lightly, I did really deep grooves in the flesh, and I found that the flavour went right through. I am really looking forward to having it again tonight!

Yonihadtoask · 24/06/2013 18:13

We have just eaten the Mediterranean Pasta Bake.

Which 2in1 recipe mix did you try?

Mediterranean Pasta Bake

  • How would you rate this recipe mix out of 5 (1 being lowest and 5 highest)

3

  • What did you/your DCs think of the overall flavour of the product?

DS (aged 15) wolfed it down, and had second helpings. DH said he liked it but wouldn't go out of his way to make another.

  • How easy, or difficult, did you find the 2in1 mix to use?

It was a little fiddly. Probably as I am not used to following recipes - I tend to just 'chuck stuff in'. But the information is all there. I was slightly confused by the pasta amount. I was unsure whether it was 70z of dried pasta or 70z cooked weight. I weighed out 70z dried pasta. It seemed about right.

  • Did you follow the recipe on the back of the packet or did you add/take away any other ingredients?

I used frozen sliced peppers instead of a yellow pepper. It was a bit watery in the pan, until the water had evaporated. I don't think it made any difference. I also baked it in the oven instead of grilling it - as the dish I was using was too large to fit under the grill.

  • Would you say the 2in1 recipe mix made your mealtimes easier at all? If so, why? If not, why not?

yes, in that it was a new dish. One less meal time to decide what to make.

  • Do you think you will buy, or look to buy, Schwartz 2in1 recipe mixes in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?

May be. Probably not this one though. I would make this but using herbs and spices from my own store cupboard.

  • Overall, would you say you loved the 2in1 recipe mix, you liked it or you hated it? .

Liked it

manfalou · 24/06/2013 18:18

Tonight we're having tikka bites! In the fridge marinating now and I have to say they look and smell mighty fine already!

wannabedomesticgoddess · 24/06/2013 18:47

Questions

  • Which 2in1 recipe mix did you try?

The mediterranean pasta.

  • How would you rate this recipe mix out of 5 (1 being lowest and 5 highest)

A unanimous 5/5

  • What did you/your DCs think of the overall flavour of the product?

It was lovely. Had a nice spice to it. The only problem I could see is that the topping made me thirsty. DD loved it once she tasted it. Both her and DP confessed that it looked weird and they didnt think they would like it.

  • How easy, or difficult, did you find the 2in1 mix to use?

Very easy. However, the instructions were a bit confusing and I think a novice cook might have problems.

  • Did you follow the recipe on the back of the packet or did you add/take away any other ingredients?

I used the leftover chicken from the Garlic and Thyme chicken we had yesterday. I left the pepper out as DP doesnt like certain things and served sweetcorn on the side instead.

I also reduced the water to 100ml after reading other feedback on here that it was watery. Glad I did as I can see the extra would have made it very thin. I added a tsp or so of sugar to the tomatoes too.

  • Would you say the 2in1 recipe mix made your mealtimes easier at all? If so, why? If not, why not?

Not easier, but I didnt find it as bad as others did.

  • Do you think you will buy, or look to buy, Schwartz 2in1 recipe mixes in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I will. It was a hit in this house and added a bit of variety. I like how it can be used for tuna and it was good to get a second meal from thhole chicken we had yesterday.

  • Overall, would you say you loved the 2in1 recipe mix, you liked it or you hated it?

Loved it.

supergreenuk · 24/06/2013 18:57

Could do with an easy 'you will need' section for when your stood in the supermarket thinking 'that will be nice for tea, what do I need?'

At first glance I am pretty sure I could make most of these by myself with no packet mix.

So I've decided to try chicken tikka. I'm a bit worried the kids won't like it as there is no indication on the packed that I can see as to how spicy it is?

Okay so it looked nice and smelled nice but I found the flavour disappointing. My youngest ate it but my oldest didn't. It was okay but I wouldn't buy it. You could detect the heat but very mild.

  • Which 2in1 recipe mix did you try?
Tikka
  • How would you rate this recipe mix out of 5 (1 being lowest and 5 highest)
2
  • What did you/your DCs think of the overall flavour of the product?
It was mild flavour with a hint of heat. The yoghurt sauce was quite authentic.
  • How easy, or difficult, did you find the 2in1 mix to use?
Easy. I put the chicken on sticks. I'm not sure I remember seeing it say to do this.
  • Did you follow the recipe on the back of the packet or did you add/take away any other ingredients?
Followed it.
  • Would you say the 2in1 recipe mix made your mealtimes easier at all? If so, why? If not, why not?
It was easy but I wouldn't say easier. It was nice to have a change. A meal idea.
  • Do you think you will buy, or look to buy, Schwartz 2in1 recipe mixes in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?
Not this one. It wasn't nice enough for me to want to buy it again. I think you expect it to taste as good as the local Indian so high expectations.
  • Overall, would you say you loved the 2in1 recipe mix, you liked it or you hated it?
Hate no. Didn't really like it.
HairyPotter · 24/06/2013 19:23

Which 2in1 recipe mix did you try?

The chicken and pasta bake.

  • How would you rate this recipe mix out of 5 (1 being lowest and 5 highest)
3.5
  • What did you/your DCs think of the overall flavour of the product?
Quite tasty. The sauce was good. No one was too keen on the crispy crumb coating though. It tasted too artificial and powdery.
  • How easy, or difficult, did you find the 2in1 mix to use?
Very easy.
  • Did you follow the recipe on the back of the packet or did you add/take away any other ingredients?
Swapped the yellow pepper for red but otherwise left the same. If I made this again I would perhaps make some changes depending in what I had in.
  • Would you say the 2in1 recipe mix made your mealtimes easier at all? If so, why? If not, why not?
Didn't make it any easier, it would probably be quicker to use a jar of ready made sauce than mix the sachet with water and tomatoes.
  • Do you think you will buy, or look to buy, Schwartz 2in1 recipe mixes in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?
I don't think I will try this particular one again, I can whip up a nicer pasta bake in less time. I am looking forward to trying the rest of the packs.
  • Overall, would you say you loved the 2in1 recipe mix, you liked it or you hated it? I didn't love it or hate it. It was quite good, just not enough to make me buy it.

  • Which 2in1 recipe mix did you try?
Southern style crunchy chicken & BBQ dip
  • How would you rate this recipe mix out of 5 (1 being lowest and 5 highest)
4
  • What did you/your DCs think of the overall flavour of the product?
The chicken was tasty and had a similar flavour to KFC etc.
  • How easy, or difficult, did you find the 2in1 mix to use?
Really easy.
  • Did you follow the recipe on the back of the packet or did you add/take away any other ingredients?
We followed the recipe and added beans and new potatoes.
  • Would you say the 2in1 recipe mix made your mealtimes easier at all? If so, why? If not, why not?
Easier than trying to make the chicken coating myself and probably a better result than if I had made it from scratch.
  • Do you think you will buy, or look to buy, Schwartz 2in1 recipe mixes in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?
I think I might buy this one again as we could have southern style chicken but we knew that it was good quality chicken.
  • Overall, would you say you loved the 2in1 recipe mix, you liked it or you hated it?
Liked it.
BriefcaseOfFacts · 24/06/2013 19:39

Which 2in1 recipe mix did you try?

The garlic and herb chicken.

  • How would you rate this recipe mix out of 5 (1 being lowest and 5 highest)
3.5
  • What did you/your DCs think of the overall flavour of the product?
DC liked it but dh and I thought the crumb coating was a bit bland. Everyone liked the dip and it definitely improved the meal as a whole
  • How easy, or difficult, did you find the 2in1 mix to use?
Very easy. Dh did the chicken and DS (8yrs) made the dip.
  • Did you follow the recipe on the back of the packet or did you add/take away any other ingredients?
Followed the recipe
  • Would you say the 2in1 recipe mix made your mealtimes easier at all? If so, why? If not, why not?
It was easy because it is a meal everyone will eat and could just be shoved in the oven. Although tbh if I wanted breaded chicken I'd probably just buy ready made ones.
  • Do you think you will buy, or look to buy, Schwartz 2in1 recipe mixes in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?
I might because the dc liked it so much but dh and I could take it or leave it.
  • Overall, would you say you loved the 2in1 recipe mix, you liked it or you hated it? Liked it.

Sorry no pic, I came to the thread after we had eaten so nothing left to photograph!

Ragwort · 24/06/2013 19:51

Southern-Style-Crunchy-Chicken-Bites-plus-BBQ-Dip - easy to make and this was my favourite. Dip was very good. 4/5.

I also tried the Garlic and Herb chicken bites with the cheese and chive dip - (made as per recipe suggestion) - the dip was not very palatable, very synthetic tasting. The coating for the chicken was OK but not nearly as good as the Southern style chicken bites. 2/5

Garlic and Thyme roast chicken with potatoes - (made as per recipe suggestion) - the chicken was excellent, really liked the flavouring. didn't rate the potato seasoning at all, very odd aftertaste 3/5.

I don't think any of these packet mixes made cooking 'any easier' - I would stick to my usual olive oil/fresh herbs - I am very unlikely to buy any of these. All tasted a bit synthetic. But thanks anyway Grin.

No idea how to take and load photos - sorry.

velvetysquirrel · 24/06/2013 19:56

Which 2in1 recipe mix did you try?
Garlic and herb crunchy chicken bites and cheese and chive dip.

How would you rate this recipe mix out of 5 (1 being lowest and 5 highest)
We (myself/dp) gave it 4 out of 5.

What did you/your DCs think of the overall flavour of the product?
Myself and dp really enjoyed it and thought the dip was really nice too.
DS (3) said he liked it and would like to have it again. DD (7 months) had a chicken bite and most of it ended up in her mouth instead of the floor so I take this as a good sign Grin.

How easy, or difficult, did you find the 2in1 mix to use?
It was fairly easy to use, although a bit fiddly when coating the chicken.

Did you follow the recipe on the back of the packet or did you add/take away any other ingredients?
Yes, I followed it, although the mayonnaise used was regular mayonnaise as opposed to light, as we did not have any.

Would you say the 2in1 recipe mix made your mealtimes easier at all? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, insofar that everyone ate it and it was fairly quick to prepare/cook.

Do you think you will buy, or look to buy, Schwartz 2in1 recipe mixes in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, we would buy this recipe mix again.

Overall, would you say you loved the 2in1 recipe mix, you liked it or you hated it?
We really liked it and would eat it again.

NumTumDeDum · 24/06/2013 19:59

Which 2in1 recipe mix did you try?

I tried the Medditeranean Pasta Bake today. I used the alternative suggestion on the packet which suggests using sweetcorn and tuna as that is what I happened to have in.

  • How would you rate this recipe mix out of 5 (1 being lowest and 5 highest)

I would rate this a 4 - very nice, but salt content is very high.

  • What did you/your DCs think of the overall flavour of the product?

The mix is full of flavour - a strong oregano taste and a heat to it, probably peppery. I liked the crunchy topping.

  • How easy, or difficult, did you find the 2in1 mix to use?

I found it easy but I use packets all the time. If I had used chicken then there would have been more pans to wash, as it is, I used a saucepan and an oven dish.

  • Did you follow the recipe on the back of the packet or did you add/take away any other ingredients?

I used the suggested alternative. But you could add anything you liked. I think ratatouille ingredients would be nice, such as courgettes etc. It really lends itself to using up whatever you have in the fridge.

  • Would you say the 2in1 recipe mix made your mealtimes easier at all? If so, why? If not, why not?

It saves having to think, just get the list on the packet and prep time is hardly anything.

  • Do you think you will buy, or look to buy, Schwartz 2in1 recipe mixes in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I would but I already buy products like this.

  • Overall, would you say you loved the 2in1 recipe mix, you liked it or you hated it?

I liked it, DD loved it.

NoHank · 24/06/2013 19:59

Which 2in1 recipe mix did you try?
Mediterranean chicken pasta + crispy crumb topping

How would you rate this recipe mix out of 5 (1 being lowest and 5 highest)
3

What did you/your DCs think of the overall flavour of the product?
I thought it was ok, DH and DM both enjoyed it but the DC's tried one or two pieces and then wouldn't eat any more. DD, 3 said it made her mouth hot. DS just didn't like it. And I felt the topping tasted a bit powdery and just seemed to blend into the pasta once served up.

How easy, or difficult, did you find the 2in1 mix to use?
Very straight forward and easy

Did you follow the recipe on the back of the packet or did you add/take away any other ingredients?
I followed the recipe on the back but left out the peppers as no-one is very keen on them

Would you say the 2in1 recipe mix made your mealtimes easier at all? If so, why? If not, why not?
It was easier than making a sauce from scratch but I didn't feel lived up to the taste of a home made one.

Do you think you will buy, or look to buy, Schwartz 2in1 recipe mixes in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would certainly look for others but will not be buying this one again as only half the household would eat it and I try and find recipes that everyone will enjoy

Overall, would you say you loved the 2in1 recipe mix, you liked it or you hated it?
Myself and DH quite liked it, DC's definitely did not

  • Which 2in1 recipe mix did you try?
Southern style crunchy chicken with BBQ sauce.
  • How would you rate this recipe mix out of 5 (1 being lowest and 5 highest)
I would rate this 3. It was tasty and easy to make.
  • What did you/your DCs think of the overall flavour of the product?
I enjoyed the flavour as did my son and husband. The chicken wasn't too spicy but flavoursome as was the BBQ sauce
  • How easy, or difficult, did you find the 2in1 mix to use?
Very easy to make. In fact it was made by my son (4) with only a little bit of help!
  • Did you follow the recipe on the back of the packet or did you add/take away any other ingredients?
I followed the recipe as it was on the back of the packet. I served it with wraps and salad.
  • Would you say the 2in1 recipe mix made your mealtimes easier at all? If so, why? If not, why not?
Ummm. It was simple and easy to make but I'm not sure that it made it easier as if I was going to eat southern fried chicken I would have bought a pack of frozen preprapred chicken.
  • Do you think you will buy, or look to buy, Schwartz 2in1 recipe mixes in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?
Based on this flavour- maybe! It was tasty and we all enjoyed it. My DS (4) really enjoyed making it and as a consequence ate it happily so if he asked for it I would probably buy it again.
  • Overall, would you say you loved the 2in1 recipe mix, you liked it or you hated it?
I would say that I liked it.
MrsMigginslovespies · 24/06/2013 20:07

Righto, I messed up my feedback last time by forgetting to include the questions, so here goes! Tonight I made the BBQ Southern Chicken. I've not tried to use a ready bready sachet before, and it was v easy. Turned out well and we all enjoyed. I served it with coleslaw, some mini corn, some chips and there should have been salad too but it looked a bit off, so I left it out!

Which 2in1 recipe mix did you try? The BBQ Chicken

  • How would you rate this recipe mix out of 5 (1 being lowest and 5 highest) 3.5 out of 5
  • What did you/your DCs think of the overall flavour of the product? We liked it. It was nice but not as good as other southern fried chicken I've bought ready made (obviously).
  • How easy, or difficult, did you find the 2in1 mix to use? It was very easy to do.
  • Did you follow the recipe on the back of the packet or did you add/take away any other ingredients? I followed it to the letter! However, I did run out of crumbs by the end and my chicken weighed 360g, so slightly less than stated. So either less chicken or more crumbs.
  • Would you say the 2in1 recipe mix made your mealtimes easier at all? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes, it was eays in that it was quick!
  • Do you think you will buy, or look to buy, Schwartz 2in1 recipe mixes in the future? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes, I'll look for them again as they're a good cupboard staple
  • Overall, would you say you loved the 2in1 recipe mix, you liked it or you hated it? We liked this recipe.

Which recipe did you try?

  • The Mediterranean chicken pasta & crumb topping

How would you rate this mix out of 5?

  • We all liked it so would give it 4 out of 5

What did you think about the overall flavour?

  • it was nice and herby and slightly peppery so not bland like some pasta mixes. DS (5) liked the crumb and cheese topping and DD (3) ate it all so must have liked it! DH and I were both impressed with the taste.

Which 2in1 recipe mix did you try?

Garlic & Thyme Roast Chicken with Crispy Roast Potatoes

How would you rate this recipe mix out of 5 (1 being lowest and 5 highest)

3.5

What did you/your DCs think of the overall flavour of the product?

Liked the potato seasoning but found the flavouring for the chicken a little harsh and artificial.

How easy, or difficult, did you find the 2in1 mix to use?

Very easy and simple to follow.

Did you follow the recipe on the back of the packet or did you add/take away any other ingredients?

Adjusted the amount of oil for the potatoes because they were too dry if the recipe followed exactly - a lot of dry powder on the potatoes as they went into the oven. Followed the chicken recipe but used chicken breast rather than whole chicken.

Would you say the 2in1 recipe mix made your mealtimes easier at all? If so, why? If not, why not?

Not any easier - bit of a faff with the 2 packets.

Do you think you will buy, or look to buy, Schwartz 2in1 recipe mixes in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?

Not this one. Liked the idea of the two parts to the recipe but didn't deliver fully for us. We didn't find it as tasty as some of the mixes you put in a bag. Perhaps because the chicken was a little drier and rather heavily coated in the seasoning mix.

Overall, would you say you loved the 2in1 recipe mix, you liked it or you hated it?

Was ok. But liked the potato seasoning - would buy that on its own.
