My daughter is 9 months old, and we were trying size 3 nappies.
Q1 What was your overall impression of Pampers Baby-Dry nappies? Would you use them again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Overall impression was extremely good. The nappies are nice-looking, soft to the touch and seem to fit well and do up securely. They don't rustle or come undone, they're not stiff or uncomfortable-looking. They didn't leak at all, not even once. My daughter's skin was always pretty dry to the touch when I changed her nappy and she never had any signs of nappy rash (and I don't use cream).
My only issue with them is that they smell strange - sort of chemical-y - and it's an unpleasant smell that can be confusing as to whether my daughter's nappy is clean or dirty. It also reminds me of how many chemicals, bleaches etc. must be in the nappies, which feels as if it might be unhealthy, environmentally and otherwise.
Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used in terms of dryness and leakage protection?
Pampers are much, much better. As I said, no leakage whatsoever. And after a long night of sleep, my baby's skin is still dry and the nappy hasn't leaked or started to disintegrate. I have been using a different, 'eco' brand since I finished the Pampers pack, and almost every nappy has leaked, they're dreadful, and my daughter's skin often feels quite damp when I change her nappy. I will definitely be going back to Pampers.
Q3 We've included some info on how much Pampers Baby-Dry nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why?
They are reasonably good value for money, relative to other nappies, partly because you need fewer as they are more absorbent. However generally I think nappies are cripplingly expensive.
Q4 If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Pampers Baby-Dry nappies to other parents? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I would, because they are so absorbent, soft and comfortable, and because they seem never to leak. My only issue is the odd chemical smell they have, which is off-putting.
