Very easy, just as directed.

Feels stickier than I imagined but very smooth and not annoyingly gooey!

No, had not tried anything before.

I found this product very easy to apply and has quickly become part of my daily routine, it takes a very short time dry. Have found it quite thick and sticky. I have never tried anything for my scar previously

  1. It is easy to apply but I do struggle a little with the amount. I have tried to use the recommended amount but it is never enough so usually do a second application from the opposite side of the scar to ensure its fully covered

  1. Rarely wait more than two mins before getting dressed as I'm always late, but that seems to have been long enough anyway

  1. Texture is great, really like it

  1. No, have used nothing else on it before and have noticed a real difference in using the product and I have forgotten to apply it at least once a week but its still working really well

Q1 How easy or difficult did you find Kelo-cote to apply?

It's very easy to apply.

Q2. On average how long did you find it took Kelo-cote to dry? Was this a longer or shorter time than you expected?

I don't have the time to leave it uncovered for five minutes but a couple of minutes seem to do the trick just as well.

Q3. How did you find the feel of the gel? e.g. texture, stickiness etc

It is quite sticky and drags on my skin at first. However, it dries to a nice smooth seal.

Q4. Before taking part in this product test, had you ever tried Kelo-cote or any other scar reducing product before? If so, which one(s)?

I used Scar-sil (on prescription) for six months.

Q1 How easy or difficult did you find Kelo-cote to apply?

The hardest thing is finding the time to wash and dry the area and allow the product to dry naturally twice a day. I have a small baby who has been unwell, and two older children, including a 2yo.

Q2. On average how long did you find it took Kelo-cote to dry? Was this a longer or shorter time than you expected?

Just a couple of minutes. There are times I cannot let it dry naturally, and it seems fine.

Q3. How did you find the feel of the gel? e.g. texture, stickiness etc

Not the most pleasant of textures. Feels sticky, but with that it feels substantial, like you are actually adding a protective layer.

Q4. Before taking part in this product test, had you ever tried Kelo-cote or any other scar reducing product before? If so, which one(s)?

None.

Q1 How easy or difficult did you find Kelo-cote to apply?

It was OK. My scar is very low and very long, so it is tricky to make sure I put the gel in the right place. I also use more than expected as the advised amount is not enough to cover the whole of the scar.

Q2. On average how long did you find it took Kelo-cote to dry? Was this a longer or shorter time than you expected?

It dries quickly. I do not notice it.

Q3. How did you find the feel of the gel? e.g. texture, stickiness etc

Sticker than I expected. It is also hard not to rub to get it all applied properly.

Q4. Before taking part in this product test, had you ever tried Kelo-cote or any other scar reducing product before? If so, which one(s)?

None

Q1 How easy or difficult did you find Kelo-cote to apply?
I'd imagine it would be very easy if I'd shaved the area first but my scar is very low and I don't shave or wax that area.

Q2. On average how long did you find it took Kelo-cote to dry? Was this a longer or shorter time than you expected?
quick but not sure I am always getting it on all the scar due to above issue.

Q3. How did you find the feel of the gel? e.g. texture, stickiness etc
not bad. a bit sticky but could be worse.

Q1. Really easy to apply.

Q2. Takes roughly 2 minutes to dry, a pleasant surprise when compared to other leading scar treatment oils.

Q3. Quite a thick gel, and at first feels a little sticky, but fine once it has dried.

Q4. Previously tried bio-oil, however never really had the time to massage it in or let it dry, so ineffective. Also tried silicone sheet, but didn't really see any effect in regards to lumps & redness in scar.
I have found Kelocote really effective, my scar is fading and becoming smoother. Even the husband has noticed the difference!

Q1 How easy or difficult did you find Kelo-cote to apply?

Quite easy.

Q2. On average how long did you find it took Kelo-cote to dry? Was this a longer or shorter time than you expected?

A bit longer than I expected, probably because my scar has an overhang and so I had to hold it up for the gel to dry. Nice.

Q3. How did you find the feel of the gel? e.g. texture, stickiness etc

Quite sticky, not helped by the overhang issue!

Q4. Before taking part in this product test, had you ever tried Kelo-cote or any other scar reducing product before? If so, which one(s)?

No none.

Been using the gel for about 10 days so far. Am 16 months post op BUT have had 2 CSs so scar has old scar tissue too.
Gel easy to apply. I used more on the ends of my scar as this is where I get inflammation the most and the ends are much darker and more raised than the middle of the scar.
I tend to apply at bed time as this is when I can wait for it to dry. Quite a sticky gel but not unpleasant feeling.
It takes about 4-5 mins to dry completely but this may be because I'm applying more on ends.

Just to add I've never used anything for scars before BUT wondered if this would work on other scars? I have a scar on my forehead from a dog bite when I was small (large scar from the 78 stitches!) it's still raised and can be red if too hot or cold and sometimes splits open. Could I use it on this scar?????

  1. I found this very easy to apply. Probably used too much on first couple of days but got dosage correct now! It is now very much part of my morning routine.

  1. I find it takes around 3-5 mins to dry which is as expected.

  1. I find the gel quite sticky and is a little thicker than expected but love the fact it is fragrance free and non-oily.

  1. I have tried Bio Oil in the past but that is very messy to say the least.

Q1 - easy to apply
Q2 - didn't measure it, but didn't feel it was too long
Q3 - sticky
Q4 - Tried a silicon gel sheet to stick on the scar. It didn't work for long, as the stickiness of the sheet went away and it wouldn't stay in place.

Q1 How easy or difficult did you find Kelo-cote to apply?
Really easy once I realised I was using a bit too much, a tiny bit spreads really far.

Q2. On average how long did you find it took Kelo-cote to dry? Was this a longer or shorter time than you expected?
Once I got the quantity right, just a couple of minutes

Q3. How did you find the feel of the gel? e.g. texture, stickiness etc.
The texture was pleasant to use and I didn't find it too sticky.

Q4. Before taking part in this product test, had you ever tried Kelo-cote or any other scar reducing product before? If so, which one(s)?

(1) easy to apply
(2) a few mins, a little bit longer than expected
(3) slightly sticky,
thicker than I expected (which is a plus as it doesn't run everywhere )
(4) haven't tried anything specific to scars before.

Q1 Easy to apply.

Q2. It took approx. 2 minutes, this was a bit longer than I expected but no problem.

Q3. It is sticky, the tube of gel gets a bit sticky too and I have had to wipe it clean a few times. I expected it to be sticky.

Q4. I have tried; aloe vera gel, lavender essential oil, tamanu oil, dermatix silicone gel and lily c silicone gel sheets.

Report
StuntNun · 11/01/2013 15:24

Q1 How easy or difficult did you find Kelo-cote to apply?
Easy to apply although I wasn't sure how much to cut off the end of the tube and it takes about twice the advised amount of gel to cover my scar. One problem is that my scar is still quite painful at eight weeks post-section so it is a little bit sore to apply the gel.

Q2. On average how long did you find it took Kelo-cote to dry? Was this a longer or shorter time than you expected?
As expected. I apply the gel first then leave it to dry while I put on deodorant and moisturiser so the Kelo-cote has dried before I get dressed.

Q3. How did you find the feel of the gel? e.g. texture, stickiness etc
It is sticky enough to be easy to apply to my scar but doesn't leave my finger sticky after applying it which is convenient.

Q4. Before taking part in this product test, had you ever tried Kelo-cote or any other scar reducing product before? If so, which one(s)?
Boots scar reduction patches which were easy to apply but tended to peel off easily so had to be reapplied frequently. The gel is much more convenient.

  1. Just a minute or so.

  1. A little greasy to start but made it easy to apply. Once dry felt very smooth.

  1. It took a few days to get used to the amount needed as I was using too much at first and it took ages to dry. But after that it has been very easy to apply.

  1. Longer than I thought but it's not a problem once you are used to it.

  1. A bit sticky but you soon get used to it.

  1. No. I've not heard of them before.

Q1 I actually found it a bit too thick and am finding it a little uncomfortable to spread, my scar can still be quite tender.

Q2. Given the stickiness of the product when it first is on your finger it dried a lot quicker than I thought it would, and wasn't sticky at all once dry.

Q3. A little thick for my preference, it is would be easier to apply if a little thinner. Really pleased with how it wasn't sticky or oily at all once dry.

Q4. Yes, Bio oil, Palmers scar cream and Fade Out
