Q1 How easy or difficult did you find Kelo-cote to apply?

Q3. How did you find the feel of the gel? e.g. texture, stickiness etc

Q4. Before taking part in this product test, had you ever tried Kelo-cote or any other scar reducing product before? If so, which one(s)?

Apologies for the very late second and third feedback - I've been restricted to my phone while we moved house and waited FOREVER for wifi hookup...

Second feedback:

  1. Have you noticed any improvement in your scar since using Kelo-cote at all, if so in what way?

  • Yes, now at four months post-section and my scar has faded in colour and feels pretty flat and smooth. However - I'm not sure that this is much different to the progress of my first section scar, for which I used Bio-Oil.

  1. Have you found using Kelo-cote easy or difficult to incorporate into your daily routine?

  • Quite easy, though the drying time does make this something to think about. I started off doing it after the shower in the morning, but moved to last thing at night - clean area, apply gel, wait for it to dry while doing teeth etc. That worked fine.

  1. Approximately how much product do you have left (1/3rd tube / 1/2 tube etc)?

  • Hard to really tell but I'd say almost all tube now gone. I've applied it pretty sparingly I think.

Third feedback:

  • Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the results of the gel?

-Pretty satisfied I think. It has definitely helped, but sorry -no miracle rave review from here! - I'd give it a 7/10 maybe?

  • What (if anything) was the most noticeable result?
  • I think the scar is more faded in colour than with the Bio-Oil I used first time around.

  • Which three words would you use to describe Kelo-cote silicone gel?

-Sticky, plasticky, effective.

  • The recommended retail price for Kelo-cote is £29.99. Would you be prepared to pay this amount for 3 month?s supply (equivalent to less than £10 per month)?
  • Probably, yes.

  • If it were to come up in conversation, would you recommend Kelo-cote silicone gel to friends and family? If yes, why? If not, why not?
  • Yes I would. I would say that I definitely found the gel to help with flattening and improving the scar.

Thanks!! I'm now off to check my gmail after what feels like an age and to post my feedback data there too hopefully!

  • Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the results of the gel?

I expected more of a noticeable improvement, and found having to wait for it to dry awkward. So overall not very satisfied.

  • What (if anything) was the most noticeable result?

No noticeable difference. I had a better result previously from using bio oil on a different scar. I did however use the bio oil sooner after the operation and more consistently (because of its ease of application)

  • Which three words would you use to describe Kelo-cote silicone gel?

Sticky, clear, odourless.

  • The recommended retail price for Kelo-cote is £29.99. Would you be prepared to pay this amount for 3 month?s supply (equivalent to less than £10 per month)?

Probably not, if I was a first time buyer a trial would be essential - I knew fairly early on the drying time would not fit my schedule. 3 months up front is quite an investment.

  • If it were to come up in conversation, would you recommend Kelo-cote silicone gel to friends and family? If yes, why? If not, why not?

I would mention it, but also both it's pros and cons. Drying time would be my biggest warning, but it doesn't have a strong smell and feels quite nice to apply (bio oil smells strong and is oily in comparison).

Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the results of the gel? Reasonably satisfied

  • What (if anything) was the most noticeable result?

My scar appears flatter (if I had started using the gel a few months prior to when I did,I would have been more impressed but I noticed my scar improved dramatically by itself in the couple of months prior to starting the trial)

  • Which three words would you use to describe Kelo-cote silicone gel?

Clear scar reducing

  • The recommended retail price for Kelo-cote is £29.99. Would you be prepared to pay this amount for 3 month?s supply (equivalent to less than £10 per month)?

If I felt I was going to scar badly or in a more visible spot than section scar, yes but for another section maybe

  • If it were to come up in conversation, would you recommend Kelo-cote silicone gel to friends and family? If yes, why? If not, why not?

Yes,I think it helped and it did more than bio oil.

  • Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the results of the gel?

Satisfied, although only as it was free to me.

  • What (if anything) was the most noticeable result?

The scar is less red.

  • Which three words would you use to describe Kelo-cote silicone gel?

Scar improving gel

  • The recommended retail price for Kelo-cote is £29.99. Would you be prepared to pay this amount for 3 month?s supply (equivalent to less than £10 per month)?

No, maybe if the scar was somewhere noticeable I would.

  • If it were to come up in conversation, would you recommend Kelo-cote silicone gel to friends and family? If yes, why? If not, why not?

Yes, as it does quite a good job, but personally I wouldn't pay for it.

  • Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the results of the gel?

About 5 - I think it has made a bit of a difference, but I don't know how spectacular that difference is.

  • What (if anything) was the most noticeable result?

Not so red and I think it's smoother

  • Which three words would you use to describe Kelo-cote silicone gel?

easy, smooth, expensive

  • The recommended retail price for Kelo-cote is £29.99. Would you be prepared to pay this amount for 3 month?s supply (equivalent to less than £10 per month)?

I think it's very expensive for a c-section scar. If it was a more visible scar then it would be different.

  • If it were to come up in conversation, would you recommend Kelo-cote silicone gel to friends and family? If yes, why? If not, why not?

Maybe. If they had a scar that was really bothering them, then perhaps.

Final feedback

Overall how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the results of the gel?
Fairly satisfied. Scar is still visible & raised in one area, but overall it has faded and smoothed somewhat.

What, if anything, was the most noticeable result?
Scar has faded.

What three words would you use to describe gel?
Effective, easy, fast.

Recommended price
Yes I would pay that as it gave noticeable results within that time period.

Recommend to others.
Yes I would recommend it to others as I have found it effective within a reasonably short time.

  • Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the results of the gel? Reasonably satisfied - I wasn't expecting miracles, so I wasn't disappointed that the scar didn't disappear

  • What (if anything) was the most noticeable result? Scars are more comfortable, the itching and discomfort has definitely improved

  • Which three words would you use to describe Kelo-cote silicone gel? expensive, different, gooey

  • The recommended retail price for Kelo-cote is £29.99. Would you be prepared to pay this amount for 3 month?s supply (equivalent to less than £10 per month)? probably not for a C-section scar, but that is mostly because in my case no one else but me and DH ever sees the scar and I just ignore it. But I think it would be worth the money if I was bothered by a more visible scar

  • If it were to come up in conversation, would you recommend Kelo-cote silicone gel to friends and family? If yes, why? If not, why not? I probably would recommend it. I didn't have miraculous results myself, but some of the other testers have found it fantastic, so on that basis I would say its worth a try if the scar is really upsetting/uncomfortable. And although I said that I personally would find it a bit expensive at £29.99, it is worth noting that you only need a tiny tiny amount, so overall its quite good value

FINAL FEEDBACK:

Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the results of the gel?
Fairly satisfied. My scar is now barely noticeable, but it's hard to know whether that would have happened anyway.

  • What (if anything) was the most noticeable result?

My scar was originally itchy and is not itchy anymore

  • Which three words would you use to describe Kelo-cote silicone gel?

Silky, effective, simple

  • The recommended retail price for Kelo-cote is £29.99. Would you be prepared to pay this amount for 3 month?s supply (equivalent to less than £10 per month)?

If I had another C-Section I probably would want to try and minimise the scar as much as possible again, so yes, £10 a month doesn't seem to bad for this.

  • If it were to come up in conversation, would you recommend Kelo-cote silicone gel to friends and family? If yes, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I would. I have already recommended it to my mother who has a recent facial scar and given her the samples that came with my tube.

Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the results of the gel?- I was reasonably satisfied.
What (if anything) was the most noticeable result?- It iis less red and itchy
Which three words would you use to describe Kelo-cote silicone gel?- sticky clear gel
The recommended retail price for Kelo-cote is £29.99. Would you be prepared to pay this amount for 3 month?s supply (equivalent to less than £10 per month)?- I would think about it. That is a lot of money for a very small tube, I wouldn't say it was actually 3 months worth. If it was on offer for less, or came in a bigger tube I would spend 30 quid on it. I don't think I would for such a small tube though.
f it were to come up in conversation, would you recommend Kelo-cote silicone gel - yes, it did work, so if you have the money it is definitely worth a go.
Thank you.

  1. Very satisfied

  1. The scar faded alot, it was very dark red to start with and has now turned a pale pink and skin coloured in parts.

  1. Easy, effective and fast-acting.

  1. In retrospect yes, but if I hadn't used it and saw it in a shop I wouldn't risk buying it at that price in case it wasnt effective.

  1. Yes definitely. I think it had a really good effect for quite a minimal commitment in terms of time applying it.

  1. Have you noticed any improvement in your scar since using Kelo-cote at all, if so in what way?

Yes, there is a lot less itching and the scar feels smoother.

  1. Have you found using Kelo-cote easy or difficult to incorporate into your daily routine?

I am quite forgetful but by using it at set times I managed to use it easily. The fact that it only takes a few minutes is great as it means no faffing.

  1. Approximately how much product do you have left (1/3rd tube / 1/2 tube etc)?

I have almost finished the tube now.

  1. Have you found using Kelo-cote easy or difficult to incorporate into your daily routine?

  • Easy - after a shower

  1. Approximately how much product do you have left (1/3rd tube / 1/2 tube etc)?

  • 1/4 tube

Final Feedback

  • Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the results?
  • I was surprised the tube was so small but it does seem to have made a difference, so I am pleased.

  • What (if anything) was the most noticeable effect?
  • Reduced grainy texture.

  • Which three words would you use to describe Kelo-cote silicone gel?
  • sticky, effective, efficient

  • The recommended retail price for Kelo-cote is £29.99. Would you be prepared to pay this amount for 3 month?s supply (equivalent to less than £10 per month)?
  • No. I don't have £30 to spend on this for a relatively small effect. If I was wealthier then I would!

  • If it were to come up in conversation, would you recommend Kelo-cote silicone gel to friends and family? If yes, why? If not, why not?
  • I have already recommended it to a family member with very bad keloid scars from teenage self harm, which he is very self conscious about. I recommended it (and would do so again)n as it had a slight effect on my relatively minor scar (not keloid) and so I would expect a larger effect on a more major scar.

3rd feedback

  1. I was very satisfied overall, I think it worked much better than other equivalents I have tried (eg Bio Oil)
  2. the scar looks less angry and is more comfortable
  3. soothing, cool, simple
  4. I thought it was expensive at first, but it lasts a while and really does work, so its good value
  5. I have recommended it to a few of my friends who have baby-related and other miscellaneous scars!

So here's my final feedback....

Overall I was very happy with the gel

The most noticeable result was the fading of the scar, much less prominent and red.

The gel in three words... It really works!

I would happily pay £29.99 for the tube, it's very good value against other products I've tried.

I would absolutely recommend the gel as it does what it says it will!

Final feedback

Fairly satisfied

Slight fading achieved

Easy inoffensive and effective

I would pay if I'd had better results

I would recommend to someone with an older troublesome scar. My scar is 7 months old and part of me thinks it would have faded this much anyway

Second feedback:

  1. Have you noticed any improvement in your scar since using Kelo-cote at all, if so in what way?

Visibly, I haven't really noticed a difference, but it isn't having itchy flare-ups any more. Actually, thinking about it, I think my scar isn't as bumpy as it was.

  1. Have you found using Kelo-cote easy or difficult to incorporate into your daily routine?

I've found this quite tricky tbh. It hasn't helped that the last few months have been lively and challenging at home. I ended up writing at the top of each week in my diary to remind me!

  1. Approximately how much product do you have left (1/3rd tube / 1/2 tube etc)?

I've nearly finished the tube (have I used too much?)

Final feedback:
1.Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the results?

Quite satisfied. Like I said above, there isn't really a visible difference, but the itchy flare-ups have stopped. I find this impressive to say my scar is 2 yrs old.

2.What (if anything) was the most noticeable effect?

No more itchiness.

3.Which three words would you use to describe Kelo-cote silicone gel?

Soothing, sticky, smoothing

4.The recommended retail price for Kelo-cote is £29.99. Would you be prepared to pay this amount for a 3 months supply?

When this tube runs out, I probably won't replace it. However, if the itchiness returns, I would buy more.

5.If it were to come up in a conversation, would you recommend Kelo-cote silicone gel to friends and family?

I already have! A friend is using it on a 10 month cs scar, with brilliant results.
I used some on my sons scar on his head - within a few days, it was paler and stopped itching.
If scars come up in conversation, I tend to recommend it whatever!

Second Feedback

  1. Have you noticed any improvement in your scar since using Kelo-cote at all, if so in what way?

  • Yes, it's slightly paler, flatter overall and less bumpy in the parts that were quite raised.

  1. Have you found using Kelo-cote easy or difficult to incorporate into your daily routine?

  • Once I fitted it into my routine, it became habit.

  1. Approximately how much product do you have left (1/3rd tube / 1/2 tube etc)?

  • None :/ But my scar is nearly hip to hip (big c-sec baby!) so I used more.

Final Feedback

  • Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the results?

In no way am I suggesting that it can grow back nerves or anything but I feel like I have more feeling in y car now. This may be as I was stimulating the tissue everyday or increasing blood as I rubbed it or something? Scar is less red and angry? Definitely less itchy!

  • What (if anything) was the most noticeable effect?

Soothing!

  • Which three words would you use to describe Kelo-cote silicone gel?

Cool, calming, soothing.

  • The recommended retail price for Kelo-cote is £29.99. Would you be prepared to pay this amount for 3 month?s supply (equivalent to less than £10 per month)?

Yes. 30p a day for a less angry, less red, smoother, calmer scar. Definitely.

  • If it were to come up in conversation, would you recommend Kelo-cote silicone gel to friends and family? If yes, why? If not, why not?

Yes definitely. I'm going to admit now that I have used a little on my dds scar tissue as it is on both her hands and feet and can get very red an angry. I used a tiny amount on her hands and it seemed to calm.
It's easy to use and effective.
