  1. Overall, what did your dc think of it?
They were very keen to try it out. They liked the packaging. dd1 (6) doesn't usually eat the porridge, and needed some coaxing to put this in her mouth. She spat it out, saying it was slimy and lumpy and not sweet enough (yes, my head nearly exploded at that). dd2 (2) does eat porridge, and ate the first few mouthfuls very enthusiastically, saying 'Yum!'. However, she stopped after about five mouthfuls and abandoned the bowl, never to return. I tried it out, and actually ended up finishing most of the leftovers Blush. I have to say, though, it wasn't nearly as nice as plain porridge with a bit of Nutella stirred in. I am a huge porridge fan, and a huge chocolate fan, but this had a vaguely unpleasant aftertaste.
  1. Main benefits.
It is a very convenient way to provide porridge (though really, how hard can making porridge be?). Really, though, the only benefit that would make me buy it would be if it could get my dc to eat more porridge. And it won't.
  1. Packaging
Yes, good - the children liked it.
  1. More interesting?
I'm afraid there is nothing that can overcome the fact that the children simply didn't like the taste.

Thanks very much for letting us test the porridge, and I'm sorry that I can't give more positive feedback.

  1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?
They were very excited to test it, but didn't really like it very much.
  1. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product? Oats are a healthy breakfast and fill them up.
  1. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why? Too much packaging, no need for separate sachets, not environmentally friendly. Box was ok.
  1. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)? Change the taste as they weren't keen on the taste of it.

Thanks for letting us test it tho Smile

Just had chocolate porridge for breakfast. Just my normal porrridge with a little cocoa, brown sugar and vanilla extract added. Dark, slightly bitter and delicious :o

1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?

DS1 (8) refused to eat it, DS2 (6) absolutely loved it and at first DS3 (3) didn't want to try it as he isn't keen on hot breakfasts but he managed half a bowl. Overall the colour is too pale to be convincingly chocolatey, the texture is fine, the usual oat so simple texture. It smelt very sweet, probably why DS2 liked it.

2. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?

A filling breakfast that is not too full of sugar and additives. DS2 usually eats three weetabix, so porridge would be a great breakfast if I could get him to eat it.

3. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?

DS1 thought it was too babyish. DS2+3 liked it as "the bear looks friendly".
The packaging, I thought, was very child based but I prefered the old style packaging that was aimed at the whole family. I dislike child based cereals as they are usually full of sugar.

4. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?

Maybe providing little sachets of something to sprinkle over their normal porridges rather than making the porriges X or Y based. A small sachet of chocolate shavings, some honey or jam or even some toffee sauce.

GraceK · 16/02/2012 09:28
  1. The porridge was not a hit with my DD's (2 & 5) - the smaller one had one mouthful & then refused to have anymore. The older one initially said it was nice but didn't finish it. On further questioning she said "it didn't taste as chocolatey as it looked." She also said she preferred the Golden Syrup version (which is another Oats So Simple product) & very popular with all our family. I tried the chocolate porridge & I would agree - it was quite bland & didn't really have the chocolate hit you'd expect. I know they're trying to keep the sugar levels down but it doesn't need to be sweet - just chocolatey.

  2. We like microwave porridge with added flavourings - it's quick to cook & tastes good - well the Golden Syrup one does. I would not be buying this particular product again.

  3. I like the individual sachets, though I find the portion sizes quite large for children - we tend to use one sachet between two kids. Still this isn't a big problem as we put a clippett round any unused stuff & it keeps very well. I like the fact you can use it to measure the milk out with too - saves on trying to wrestle a measuring cup out of the cupboard in the mornings. I think (& this applies to all the Oats So Simple range) that the boxes are way too big for the number of sachets in the box - I think it's to make it look good along side the other big boxes of breakfast products but we can fit two lots of sachets (purchased on a BOGOF) into one box with ease. The box could be a lot smaller with the sachets stacked neatly inside. Don't really feel strongly about the decoration either way - we buy because of the flavour, not the pictures on the box.

  4. In the case of this particular porridge - make it taste of chocolate. Why do they need to have a specific 'kids' porridge? I am personally not that impressed by specific products marketed to children - to ensure good life long eating habits it would help if children just tended to eat smaller portions of 'adult' food. Which doesn't necessarily have to be boring. (That said, I do still like a bowl of Frosties for breakfast if I have any poached rhubarb to go with it.) I think Quaker may be over analysising things by trying to have different adult & children's ranges.

Sorry we couldn't be more positive about the 'chocolate' product & thanks for letting us test it. I don't think there's anything wrong with the concept of chocolate porridge but it needs to be a lot more chocolatey tasting. We will continue to consume your Golden Syrup product instead.

FriskyMare · 16/02/2012 09:44

DC both thpught for a "chocolate" porridge it wasn't chocolatey enough, I ended up adding a tspful of drinking chocolate (DS is a chocolate weetabix mini fiend, DD likes Special k). DD still wasn't keen but DS woofed it down and declared it quite nice. The appearance and texture are nothing to write home about, but hey, its porridge!
DH & I have eaten other quaker pproducts for years and find the o so simple range to be a quick healthy tasty breakfast. The dc (14 & 12) are more than capable of making the porridge themselves. Much easier, quicker and less messy than the old stove top method I used to use.
Both the dc were not really bothered about the packaging, probably not aimed at teens.
Agree with other posters that a sprinkle of chocolate chunks might be good and pictures of One Direction eating/advertising may appeal more to the teen market.
Overall, a bit hit and miss is our house, we probably will buy for ds(12) but encourage dd(14) to eat the fruit flavoured one.
Thank you for the opportunity to try.

ShangriLaLaLa · 16/02/2012 10:08

We are long time users of Oats so Simple for weekend breakfasts - original with a spoon of manuka. Filling and keeps hunger at bay. So I was really keen to try this as a bit of a treat alternative. Couldn't believe some of the vitriol it inspired in the original thread, but there you go!

In answer to your questions:
1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?

They really didn't like it. DS is 2 and a porridge monster. He took one mouthful and then batted it away. No way was he going to try any more, although I did persevere. Ended up with his usual bowl of original instead. DD is 10 and adores chocolate, although doesn't have it often. Had a spoonful of her brother's and then declined her own bowl. In all, I thought it was an unappealing colour and didn't in any way deliver the chocolate experience we'd hoped for. Really disappointing.

2. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?

No benefits at all for us. We'll stick with the original.

3. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?

DD loved the bear, thought it was very cute. Think DS found it a little scary. He kept on turning it face down. I do think it looks a bit manic, to be honest. The sachet/measurer I always use, with varying success.

4. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?

It HAS to look and taste more of chocolate. This product is far too insipid and bland to ever be interesting.

Thank you for the opportunity to try it out.

Questions

  1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?

Afraid that my 3 year old took one look and refused to try. She eats porridge quite happily as a rule, so I'm not sure if it was the smell or the colour that put her off... Even the unprecedented promise of chocolate at breakfast time failed to win her round. When the bowl first came out of the microwave, the texture seemed quite unappealing runny, but this did improve with a bit of stirring and cooling. I thought the portion was quite generous, but then I don't really know how much older children eat! Was certainly too much for my toddler. When I tasted it, I found the chocolate flavour synthetic but quite subtle - perhaps a stronger flavour would work better.

  1. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?

Goodness of oats, convenience of sachets. However, I wouldn't buy this flavour, perhaps I'll try the others. To be honest, the price will probably decide whether or not I buy any in the future. You can probably get a lot of porridge oats for the price of 10 sachets of this, and budget will probably win out over convenience for me.

  1. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?

My little one was very taken with the packaging. The promise of chocolate from the brown colour scheme and the bears theme were very appealing to her. I actually liked the option to measure the milk - sometimes finding a measuring jug can be a bridge too far and I'm not always very accurate in my estimates.

  1. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)

Hmmm - perhaps chunks of something in it - fruit maybe? Or perhaps making the chocolateyness of this more distinct? Not sure as I'm not sure why my L.O. took against it so! Thought the packaging was judged right.

CMOTDibbler · 16/02/2012 10:33

DS(5) was very keen to try this - he's not normally a great porridge eater, and does like a bowl of coco pops.

He ate quite enthusiastically, and said he liked it, so I'll try again tomorrow.

We liked the packaging and the sachets (I used less milk than indicated though)

A bit more chocolate and texture would be nice

GrownUp2012 · 16/02/2012 10:40
  1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?

Overall I think they were underwhelmed by it. The idea is a good one, but they both felt it wasn't very chocolate-y, in taste, smell and appearance. That being said, my DD did eat it more than usual, probably 1 in every 2 bowls were eaten, so it wasn't a complete failure. Texture was watery initially, but since I have to leave it to cool a bit for my two had thickened perfectly when it was ready to eat.

  1. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?

At the moment the packaging would be the reason it was picked over other flavourings by my kids, so I think the flavour needs to be worked on a little bit. I think I would continue to buy the original flavours that my children already eat, so golden syrup and cinnamon for us.

  1. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?

I love the individual sachets as I set everything up the night before so it's quick and easy to make in the morning. The kids loved the big chocolate-y bear on the front.

  1. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?

Maybe add some little sachets to stir in the porridge after it's made. We already add dried fruit sometimes, or some wee chocolate chips, honey and nuts etc. More cute illustrations on boxes would definitely win my two over too.

BehindLockNumberNine · 16/02/2012 11:08

Here are our answers to the questions:

  1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?

Ds thought it was a bit runny but as we like our porride runny in this house that was fine by us. Dd was a bit concerned the colour was not very chocolatey and she was concerned it would not taste chocolately enough.
We all liked the smell.
Ds liked the taste but I think he was not overwhelmed by it. Dd loved it, declaring it best porridge ever (all fears about it not being chocolately enough were unfounded!!) I myself thought it was a bit too sweet and sickly.

  1. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?

As we don't have a microwave (and don't intend to get one) the sachets were no more convenient for us than porridge from a box. However, the fact that it was pre-flavoured saved quite a bit of faffing around with syrup, sugarbowls etc. This would be the main reason for buying the product.

  1. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?

We liked the packaging although ds at age 12 was not to sure about the bear. Dd age nine however loved him. As the product is aimed at children the packaging will definately enable children to identify the product on the shelf and ask parents to buy it. I liked the fact the packaging was quite muted and not garish as some products aimed at children seem to be.

  1. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?

A better chocolate taste, perhaps a more grown up chocolate taste as in less sweet and sickly. Ds said large lumps of chocolate in unflavoured porridge would be preferable.

All in all mixed reactions in this house. I don't think we will buy it again despite how much dd liked it - I think I may try ds's idea of putting chocolate in normal porridge for a more 'honest' chocolate flavour.

Thank you for letting us try it.

iwantavuvezela · 16/02/2012 11:22

Thank you for letting us try the new porridge ...

  1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?

My daughter enjoyed it and had it three moringns in a row, the first two times I made it , and the third time she asked for it. She said she enjoyed it (she's 4.6). So for us it was a positive, and i will probalby buy the honey flavour as well.

  1. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?

Its easy to use in the morning, takes 3 minutes to do. I liked the thought of reduced sugar, and that its porridge. My daughter eats a range of porridges, cereals, but i need to keep options open.

  1. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?

I absolutely loved the box as did my daughter - it had the feel of the type of cereals (rude health etc) that I buy from the health shop for my daughter. The bear and porridge was very cute, and i also liked that the packaging felt simple; and not over commercialised. So thumbs up for the packaging, and this alone would have got me buying it in the supermarket. Disliked nothing about the packaging ... although i would prefer it just in a box, i did enjoy just being able to use a sachet, not having to measure. We went away last weekend, and it was easy to just pop two sachets in the packet of miscellanous foodstuffs instead of dragging a gigantic box of rice crispies. I never realised you could use the sachet to measure the milk, i ignored this part as i thought it was part of the microwave instructions (which i dont use) so only found out about this on the thread!

  1. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?

I think a collectors card, or something on the box itself to do. I could see my daughter doing something with the box, so you could cut out something on it?
MAybe some interesting Bear facts; porridge facts (like innocent smoothies do?)

Thank you for the opportunity for letting us try this. We will use the sachets and i will buy some more as I found it easy to use and good to have in the cupboard ...

Redpeffer · 16/02/2012 12:45

I really wanted to like this product as I'm constantly looking for ways to improve my children's diet. My dd who is a notoriously fussy eater at age 5, wouldn't touch it. She said she would give it a try when she saw the packet, but by the time I'd made it up, the smell had put her off. I agree with another post-would be better off trying real chocolate rather than this flavouring.

My ds who is 15 months and starting to get fussy about his food did tuck in for quite a while. He seemed to like the taste and texture. However, he dud't have as much as I would normally expect before his mouth firmly closed.

I have to say that the taste didn't do anything for me and I love porridge.
Personally, I didn't like the sachets although they could be useful for travel and convenience. I would never bother filling the sachet with milk as it looked far too fiddly and disastrous.

Like the idea, just not sure about the execution. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to try though.

michelle3000 · 16/02/2012 12:50

Thanks for the opportunity to test this!

1 Unfortunately it didn't go down too well... It was far far far too hot for my 5 year old and I had to cool it down with more milk which didn't help the texture much... She just didn't like the taste of it (usually has ready brek). Said it didn't taste like chocolate and she wanted her normal breakfast!

2 Its a fairly healthy and easy breakfast.

3 It was handy for us this week as we have been away visiting family so it was great to have the individual sachets available so I didn't have to pack a big box of cereal. Found pouring the milk into the packet a bit of a challenge though Blush. First couple of times I made a right mess!

4 I agree with many previous comments re adding something that the children can sprinkle into the mixture. DD likes to put some honey and then raisins into her breakfast each morning...

Thanks again

still no package for me :( anyone else still waiting?

  1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance? None of them managed to eat a full bowl, they didn't like the taste or smell of it, they said that it certainly wasn't chocolatey. Ds1 - 18, would eat it with sugar added! - not the idea, obviously.
  1. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product? I buy Oats so Simple for me, dd and ds1, I like the sachet and the milk measuring, I was hoping this would get ds2 onto porrdge too, it hasn't happened Sad
  1. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why? My youngest is 15, so wasn't interested inthe packaging, it's obviously aimed at younger children
  1. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)? I agree witht eh other comments that sprinkles woudl be good.

Anyone want 7 sachets of porridge?

poppy1973 · 16/02/2012 13:36

PurpleKittyKnitting, I glad I am not the only one. I haven't received anything yet either. Postman didn't leave anything today. Will see if there is anything tomorrow. Sad Sad

1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?
Sorry DD hated it from the first spoon and even trying the normal bribery tactics only managed to get half a bowl eaten, that said having tried it myself, it was pretty awful, I often eat the apple and blackcurrent one, which I love, but the chocolate one really doesn't deliver on the taste - as DP said it tastes like some one made a passing introduction to a chocolate bar. we did add a spoon of hot chocolate powder (yes I know not the point) but that made the world of difference and made it rather plesant to eat.

2. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?
I think oats are a great breakfast, but the chocolate I'm afriad was just a non starter for us.

3. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?
DD loved the packaging and was really looking forward to eating it.

4. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?
I think the fruit ones are much better, how about peach, strawberry, banana (there was a brand called oats-so-easy in South Africa when I was growing up and those flavours where fantastic - or at least as a 7 year old I thought so)

littlepinkpear · 16/02/2012 14:04
  1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?

DD (2.5) didnt like it at all, she tried it but didnt like the taste and wouldnt eat more than a spoonful. She normally has plain porridge or Weetabix, so she hasnt really had a sweet cereal before.

I have been eating it instead and find it OK, I dont love the taste and find the amount of milk suggested makes it too runny. The protion packs are good but not large enough and it doesnt fill me up enough.

  1. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?

I love the idea of sachets and using them as the measuring jug, being able to have a portion I can put in my bag and take with me is great. A nice alternative to a cold cereal during the winter.

  1. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?

DD loved the box and the bear - she was excited by the packaging and made lots of bear noises at it! I thought it had a good, contempory look. See above re: the sachets.

  1. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?

The flavouring would have to be improved as DD didnt like the taste at all, even though she will happily eat plain porridge.

Perhaps the bear needs to have a name - like Tony the Tiger or the Coco Pops monkey etc as DD loved him on the side of the box.

littlepinkpear · 16/02/2012 14:06

Oh and thank you for letting me try it - I have enjoyed thinking about something, rather than just shovling it in on the way out the door in the morning!

PrettyCandles · 16/02/2012 14:08
  1. Overall
All dc thought it smelled nice. None commented on appearance, though dh and I thought it looked anaemic. The porridge refuser refused to try, the others tasted but did not finish. This may have been sheer contrariness, as they both found it delicious.
  1. Main benefits
None, really. No different from ordinary porridge. TBH I won't be buying this, as neither dh nor I liked the taste - too sweet, and not enough chocolate/cocoa taste. There was also some added, unidentifiable, flavour that I particularly disliked.
  1. pPackaging
We all liked the packaging. Using the sachet to measure the milk is clever. If we liked the flavour, I would use this when travelling, particularly camping or hiking.
  1. Ideas
Instead of pre-blended flavours, have sachets of plain porridge, and sachets of flavour/additions in the box as well. Eg sugar, golden syrup, honey, cocoa, fruit sauce, seeds/nuts, chopped dried fruit.
Taffeta · 16/02/2012 14:28
  1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?

DCs are DS(8) and DD(5). DS doesn't usually like porridge. DD does. It started well DS said " It smells really nice, really chocolatey." DS ate one spoonful and then pushed it away " Not as good as it smells. I don't like the texture." DD ate over half of it but declared she preferred the cranberry and apple, sultana and raisin adult one.

  1. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?
We also tried the fudge one, with the same results, DD quite liked it but DS didn't. I like the easy microwaveability ( if thats even a word ) of them, but you get that with the adult ones too.
  1. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?
Liked the bear. DD wanted to read the packet and stroke the bear. Grin Like the individual sachets, although downside is if they want a bit less/bit more. Great for ease of use and keeping the rest fresh though, and without spillage.
  1. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?
DS doesn't like the texture. He does like my homemade version, where I use bigger oats and less milk, and put whole sultanas and cinnamon in. So maybe a differently textured version with jumbo oats and dried fruit in.
peggyblackett · 16/02/2012 14:43
  1. DS (aged 2), said 'niccce' when I asked him what he thought. He didnt eat all of it though, probably a third of a serving. DD (aged 7), is non-verbal, happily ate a full serving. I tried some - I found it pleasant enough but not particularly chocolatey. Appearance wise it was good, I liked the fact that it wasn't overly coloured.
  1. Convenience would be the main reason for buying this. It would be more likely that I would buy this to take to the office as an easy breakfast than for the dcs.
  1. We liked the packaging. The only thing I didn't like was the concept of using the sachet to measure the milk - it just seemed too flimsy somehow.
  1. I think adding chocolate chips would improve the cereal, and make it more appealing. I would also like it if the chocolate in the product was fairtrade.

Thanks for the opportunity to test this MN and Quakers.

  1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance?
DS1 (4) said it was "yucky" but he is not a porridge fan. He was at least tempted to try it which is good for him! DS2 (2) loved it and ate the lot. I thought the texture was a bit dry after cooking and cooling so added cold milk at the end. The taste to me was not terribly chocolatey and left a slightly odd aftertaste. I would definitely like to know what the flavourings are.
  1. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product?
I think the low level of sugar is a good thing - it's lower than most of the kids' cereals we have in the cupboard although obviously higher than plain porridge which is what we usually have.
  1. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why?
They definitely found the box design appealing - normally DS1 wouldn't even try porridge and it's mainly down to the packaging that he did. I find the individual sachets very useful as an adult but I'm not sure I would get them for my kids - the portion size is too big for my 2yo so there is some waste, plus we usually have Ready Brek which can be made with warm milk so no need to wait for it to cool down.
  1. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)?
I think a more chocolatey taste would be more appealing to the kids and I would certainly be more likely to get it if I could see exactly what was in it eg "made with real cocoa" (which I strongly suspect it isn't!).

1. Overall, what did your DC(s) think of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids Porridge? Did they make any comments about the texture, smell, taste or appearance? Overall my DD's loved it, I usually have a hard time getting DD1 to eat breakfast, she even ends up throwing up at the smallest thing, however she ate the 'chocolate porridge' straight away and announced it to be 'very yummy' and went to school happily on a full stomach for the first time in a long time. Youngest DD said it was yummy as well.

2. What would you say are the main benefits of Quaker Oat So Simple Kids porridge, for you and/or for your DCs? What would be the key reason for you to buy the product? It's a a filling breakfast for my girls, it's very quick to make which helps in my household as mornings are generally pandemonium inspite of my best efforts. My girls liked it and have asked for it again which means I will have it in my cupboards from now on as my eldest has serious issues regarding breakfast (this is linked to other issues but has made life pretty stressfull all round).

3. What did you and your DC(s) like/dislike about the packaging (including the box and the individual sachets)? Why? I liked that the sachets come marked with where to fill the milk up to, so I don't have to get the measuring jug out minimises on the washing up in the morning!

4. Do you have any ideas about how Quaker could make the Oat So Simple Kids Porridge more interesting for your DC(s)? if the boxes could come with fun trivia or fun facts I'm pretty sure my DD's would be delighted.
