NOW CLOSED: "You Choose" any Ford car to test drive over Christmas for three weeks - video reviewers needed

AnnMumsnet · 28/11/2011 11:37

We've been asked by Ford to find five MNers and their families willing to have a three week extended Christmassy test drive in the Ford car of their choice, to make a video review and to add feedback to a thread on Mumsnet. This follows on from the recent C-MAX, Grand C-MAX, Focus and KUGA test drives

As this is for the car of your choice....you can take your pick from the range - have a read below and pick the car which best suits your family and lifestyle

Maybe you will choose the....
Fiesta - "Reliable, safe, good fuel economy - perfect for a smaller family"
Galaxy - "Large, safe with removable seats - great for a large family"
or Mondeo Estate - "Spacious, with a large boot - ideal for families with pets"

Or how about:

KA
Fusion
Focus
Focus Estate
C-MAX
Grand C-MAX
Kuga
Mondeo
S-MAX

You can read all about the cars by visiting the Ford website

If you'd like to test drive a Ford car, please read on, especially the conditions:

You can use the car for anything (legal) - but you will need to pay for any fuel you use, as well as any parking permits or parking/traffic fines.

Insurance will be arranged as long as you:-

~ are aged 25 or over
~ have had a full driving licence for three years or more and
~ have no convictions for dangerous driving.

What will test drivers need to do?
If selected, you would need to be able to offer feedback about the car on Talk at least twice a week for the duration of the three week test plus a final round up of your thoughts.

We will also be asking you to use the video camera provided to film yourself reviewing the car with your family plus we'll need a photo of you with the car and some details about you and your family. All footage, photos and information may be shown on Mumsnet and potentially used by Ford elsewhere.

Timetable
The test drive will take place starting w/c 19th Dec - and will last for three weeks (until w/c 2nd Jan) - meaning you can enjoy the car over the Christmas and New Year period.

Please only apply if you are around and able to test the car as well as add your feedback. Please note the car can not be taken out of the UK

If selected your name and contact details would be passed to the team at Ford who would make arrangements to deliver the car on a convenient day and time to suit you.

If you're interested in taking part please sign up by clicking here.

If you're selected for the test drive and add feedback as required on Mumsnet, you will receive £100 of John Lewis vouchers. If you haven't heard from us by December 9th, we're sorry but you haven't been selected this time.

Thanks and good luck

MNHQ

Can I just keep the Kuga for 3 more weeks please?
:)

Fillybuster · 28/11/2011 16:18

DH has been desperate to buy an S Max since they launched them a few years back....have signed up in the hope of being able to have a sensible discussion once we've actually tried the thing!!

Squigglywiggly · 28/11/2011 17:17

We are looking for a small family car (5 door) as finding my fiat 500 tricky to use with a baby. Sad. Thinking of either a fiesta or focus so would love to test drive either to help us decide...

PosiesOfPoinsettia · 28/11/2011 17:25

Please let it be us, we're stuck in Bristol whilst DS is doing a million Pantos with the Hoff...... Plus we do need a new car.

Daftapath · 28/11/2011 17:39

I would love to have a long test drive with a Grand C-Max.

I doubt we would be chosen as we have already had the pleasure of a Ford Day (but they didn't have a Grand C-Max to test).

I promise to wear make-up every day though if I have to film something!!

Tortington · 28/11/2011 17:41

i crashed my car 2 months ago so am looking for another

now i dont want a ford - but who knows - the mundaness of family carness might win me over

if you pick me my video blog will be awesome

fruitshootsandheaves · 28/11/2011 18:04

MNHQ we will be using our caravan over Christmas. If selected would we be able to tow with it or would we have to use our own car for towing? (in which case we could go for a smaller one!)

BIWI · 28/11/2011 18:17

Please, please, please pick me!

My car is dying and I desperately need a new one. I loved the Ford day at Donington and was really impressed with the Grand C-Max when it was showcased there.

And I have lots of driving to do over Christmas, and really want a safe, reliable car to do it in!

thisisyesterday · 28/11/2011 18:21

oh god i would love to do this.
i need to upgrade to a 7 seater, so would be great to give the galaxy a try!

addictediam · 28/11/2011 18:28

I've filled it out, but dh would be doing the test drive. I ticked my age as 18-24 because I am, will we automatically be filtered out? Dh would really love to test drive!

smartyparts · 28/11/2011 18:43

I clicked to complete the survey and it took be back to MN homepage. Has it just disappeared?

EmLH · 28/11/2011 18:50

Done. Fingers firmly crossed!

IBlameThePenguins · 28/11/2011 19:01

Hi, I just tried to enter this, but my computer did funny things just as I pressed enter. Is there any way that MNHQ could let me know if it has been received? Pretty Pleeeease?!

Thank You :)

DebiTheScot · 28/11/2011 19:01

I'd love to do this but we're away over Christmas. If the 3 weeks started just before New Year it'd be perfect and very handy with parents coming to stay and not enough space in our car for them

norriscoleforpm · 28/11/2011 19:07

I would love to know what a 'new' car is like to drive Grin

BellaBearisWideAwake · 28/11/2011 19:10

Would I be considered if I am out if the country from 28th December?

AnnMumsnet · 28/11/2011 19:31

fruitshootsandheaves - good Q - will ask. Suspect they won't have two bars though
addictediam - that's fine
smartyparts - it goes to MNhomepage at the end so it's fine
IBlameThePenguins - you're on the list! thanks.
BellaBearisWideAwake - this would probably be ok, please fill in form but put that on it somewhere!

thanks to everyone who has applied so far...

Done.

We are looking to change DH's car, our family car, next year. We need to have at least car that is four wheel drive, especially after the amount of snow we have had the last few years.

planetpotty · 28/11/2011 20:16

Doneth!

flapperghasted · 28/11/2011 20:39

Done it. Wondering whether I made the right decision with my Mid Life Crisis car this time last year. Am starting to wish I'd taken the solid, practical Fiesta or Focus over the barmy, rattly, Peugeot convertible I bought. It's lovely in the summer, but it shakes, rattles and rolls...never a good combo in a car :)

Hope I get picked!

Grockle · 28/11/2011 20:56

Done. DP is very excited about this. For the first time ever, he's not rolling his eyes at my MNing Grin

FurryFox · 28/11/2011 21:02

Done. Not sure we'd get picked as we already have an S-Max, have requested the Kuga though.

montmartre · 28/11/2011 21:12

Ford again? Can't we have someone a little more aspirational?

I thought the MN demographic was at the upper end of the socio-econimic scale?

mumdad2kidsandadog · 28/11/2011 21:25

The Kuga I'm driving retails at £27k. Pretty aspirational to me.
:)

montmartre · 28/11/2011 21:32

Still a ford though! Isn't an M Class 60k plus? Land Rover over 50k...
