NOW CLOSED: "You Choose" any Ford car to test drive over Christmas for three weeks - video reviewers needed

We've been asked by Ford to find five MNers and their families willing to have a three week extended Christmassy test drive in the Ford car of their choice, to make a video review and to add feedback to a thread on Mumsnet. This follows on from the recent C-MAX, Grand C-MAX, Focus and KUGA test drives

As this is for the car of your choice....you can take your pick from the range - have a read below and pick the car which best suits your family and lifestyle

Maybe you will choose the....
Fiesta - "Reliable, safe, good fuel economy - perfect for a smaller family"
Galaxy - "Large, safe with removable seats - great for a large family"
or Mondeo Estate - "Spacious, with a large boot - ideal for families with pets"

Or how about:

KA
Fusion
Focus
Focus Estate
C-MAX
Grand C-MAX
Kuga
Mondeo
S-MAX

You can read all about the cars by visiting the Ford website

If you'd like to test drive a Ford car, please read on, especially the conditions:

You can use the car for anything (legal) - but you will need to pay for any fuel you use, as well as any parking permits or parking/traffic fines.

Insurance will be arranged as long as you:-

~ are aged 25 or over
~ have had a full driving licence for three years or more and
~ have no convictions for dangerous driving.

What will test drivers need to do?
If selected, you would need to be able to offer feedback about the car on Talk at least twice a week for the duration of the three week test plus a final round up of your thoughts.

We will also be asking you to use the video camera provided to film yourself reviewing the car with your family plus we'll need a photo of you with the car and some details about you and your family. All footage, photos and information may be shown on Mumsnet and potentially used by Ford elsewhere.

Timetable
The test drive will take place starting w/c 19th Dec - and will last for three weeks (until w/c 2nd Jan) - meaning you can enjoy the car over the Christmas and New Year period.

Please only apply if you are around and able to test the car as well as add your feedback. Please note the car can not be taken out of the UK

If selected your name and contact details would be passed to the team at Ford who would make arrangements to deliver the car on a convenient day and time to suit you.

If you're interested in taking part please sign up by clicking here.

If you're selected for the test drive and add feedback as required on Mumsnet, you will receive £100 of John Lewis vouchers. If you haven't heard from us by December 9th, we're sorry but you haven't been selected this time.

Thanks and good luck

Sorry- that sounds awfully sneering- I really don't mean it like that- I wouldn't dream of spending even £27k on a car tbh...

headfairy · 28/11/2011 21:56

Done, pleeeeeeease can we try the Kuga? We've been stuck snowbound for the past two winters and we need a 4wd. Plus it's dd's birthday on New Years Eve so it would be nice to have a lovely shiney car for her birthday treat. We'll fill it with balloons for the video, I promise Grin

katz · 28/11/2011 21:57

Done, we're looking to trade our 2 cars into 1. I love the Kuga but DH is not convinced this could just tip it into my favour.

Dysgu · 28/11/2011 22:07

Have just entered - we ARE in the UK and it didn't say anything about not including islands. We would really love to try a manageable 7 seater - we have been looking for something we like for a while now and this would be the perfect time to try it out as we transport children and Christmas presents up and down the country!

Dysgu · 28/11/2011 22:09

Oh and if a DD's birthday can swing it for us to be selected, it would be just the thing for DD2's birthday on Christmas Eve when she turns 3. Grin

bea · 28/11/2011 22:09

Done! fingers crossed!!!!

wannabestressfree · 28/11/2011 22:15

Have applied, fingers crossed, after missing out on the skylander trip promise faithfully to be available for three weeks of new car lovelieness:}

Pippaandpolly · 28/11/2011 22:28

Oh I hope I get picked! We're in the market for a new car anyway and are very very pretty and good on camera Grin

ratflavouredjelly · 28/11/2011 22:44

Woo-hoo done! Well, as someone who hates (ahem) reverse parking - i'm intrigued by the rear view sensor/view feature in the S Max. Would love to comment on that. If we were lucky enough to be picked I would even edit my video in i-movie Grin. I would also drive on motorways as well as locally to check out the fuel consumption as my current Ford Focus C-Mx (1.8) petrol eats up fuel like crazy. So, I'm keen to see the difference with diesel and what a new car actually feels like to drive a family around in - for work and play. Thanks Thanks

Woodlands · 28/11/2011 22:50

We are also in the market for a new car and are looking very seriously at the Focus Estate so would love to have the chance to test one over Christmas!

TheFeministsWife · 28/11/2011 23:06

Can I apply if I can't drive, but DH will be doing the driving?

snala · 29/11/2011 00:05

Done. Please pick me, I NEVER win anything Smile

winterland · 29/11/2011 06:37

Done! Did my completed survey appear? I have a good feeling about this one..

MrsFruitcake · 29/11/2011 06:44

I'd love to see how the Kuga holds up in bad weather - couldn't get my car off the drive in the snow last year, let alone go anywhere in it!

Dru77 · 29/11/2011 08:25

I hope I get picked. Ford could genuinely get a car sale out of this. Heart says Kia Sportage, DH says Grand Cmax but wallet says C3 Picasso!

ChippyMinton · 29/11/2011 09:38

I'd like the tiniest one...the KA...just for me! Do they come in pretty colours?

AnnMumsnet · 29/11/2011 10:38

winterland - yep it's in! thanks

Oooh yes please!!! We have lots planned over the festive period and this would be fab! Our car is on the verge of death and we are looking to upgrade. Missed out last time and would love a chance!!, if there is a Santa.....Wink

twolittlemonkeys · 29/11/2011 12:11

Oooh please pick me! We will be needing a new car soon (a bigger one with any luck - ttc#3), having had our Focus since I found out I was pregnant with DS1. It's getting pretty old now and will need replacing so I'm keen to try out something new and slightly bigger :) Pity there isn't anywhere to put 2nd or 3rd choices on the form as I'd be happy to try out anything bigger than a Focus!

JaxV · 29/11/2011 12:33

This would be perfect for us - we recently lost our car due to a repair bill we just couldnt afford and ended up selling it to the garage for silly money just to avoid having to scrap it :(

We live in Taffs Well (near Cardiff) and it is a loooooong walk to get to anywhere, which we dont mind, but as the weather gets colder it's getting tougher - this would make our christmas to have a car for 3 weeks!

I have owned a KA before and loved it, wouldnt mind test driving the newer version!

Done! In 27 years DH has only ever had Fords. So yes, we love them. We were unlucky last time, Fingers crossed for this one!

muddledsheep · 29/11/2011 13:44

Survey all filled in, I don't drive but my husband is very excited at the thought of driving a new Galaxy. Thanks for the opportunity!

BerryLellow · 29/11/2011 13:54

Done - hoping to get a new car next year so this would be interesting.

northernmonkey · 29/11/2011 16:21

Done. Fingers crossed in Feb we'll have the money to buy a new car. Would be really good to try out a car for 3 weeks and get a really good feel for it.
I never put that in my survey...really should have :(
