We've been asked to find 50 Mumsnetters who would like to try Bio-Oil on their skin and then to add feedback to a thread on Mumsnet. The product could also be used on children (aged over 2 years)

"Built into a daily skin care routine, Bio-Oil can be applied all over the body, including the face. Specialist skincare for scars, stretch marks, uneven skin tone, dehydrated skin and dry skin For best results Bio-Oil should be applied twice daily for a minimum of 3 months"

This product test is designed to run alongside the company's new campaign called 'Skin Stories'. This "celebrates how every scar and stretch mark tells a story, whether it's the birth of a child or following a c- section - centred around Facebook, the campaign aims to encourage women to celebrate their skin's individuality by uploading their own Skin Stories as inspiration to other women, to empower them to think and feel more positively about their own skin. For every story shared, Bio-Oil will donate £1 to the British Skin Foundation to help fund research into skin health". If you have already used Bio-Oil and would like to share your story please do so by following the link above.

If you'd like to try Bio-Oil and your are selected you'll be sent a 60ml bottle of Bio-Oil, worth £8.99. In return, we'd like you to add your feedback on Mumsnet twice - once after a week or so with your first impressions and once after 4 to 6 weeks worth of use. Feedback will concentrate on appearance of your stretch marks or scar. Please note this is in no way a clinical trial and we are simply after 'real' feedback on the oil and any changes in the condition of skin noted by those using it.

In addition, Bio-Oil are also looking for 3 Mumsnetters to make a short film about their skin - examining their skin problems, showing changes and asking other people if they have noticed a difference. If you are happy to make a film please tick the box on the form. Please note the videos will be hosted on YouTube, shown possibly on Mumsnet, on the Bio-Oil Facebook page and possibly on the Bio-Oil website. We will compile the three films into one montage and names will not be used. You will be given instructions on how to make the film and what to record. If you are selected to make the video then you will receive a £30 Boots voucher by way of thanks.

So if you feel like Bio-Oil could benefit you and you'd like to try it please sign up here.

Any questions please ask.
Thanks

Im not up for the video part as im very camera shy!

ClaimedByMe · 24/10/2011 12:09

I would love it for my dd who has been left scarred after an accident with a bike in the summer, she keeps her legs covered at all times now, it's only a few inches long but bright purple!

Trills · 24/10/2011 12:14

I have plenty of stretchmarks from puberty (no pregnancies yet) - I don't think they are hideous but I would still like to try some nice moisturising oil.

Spirael · 24/10/2011 12:15

I got an error message after clicking to submit the form... Did my sign up actually work??

thousandDenier · 24/10/2011 12:21

I would, but the smell of it takes me right back to vomitous early days of my first pg. Shame, 'tis good stuff.

FlyingPurpleRumpleEater · 24/10/2011 12:41

open to MNers outside of the UK?

BerryLellow · 24/10/2011 12:49

I've signed up, for me and DS2 who has just got some horrid scars after a bout of chicken pox.

NewbeeMummy · 24/10/2011 13:11

I've signed up - would love to use it on my knee which still looks hideous a year after a bike crash.

norrisghoulafterpm · 24/10/2011 13:27

I have a horrible scar on my inner arm from plastic surgery. I would be amazed if anything would help that but would love to give it a go!

AnnMumsnet · 24/10/2011 13:27

Spirael - yes we have your form
FlyingPurpleRumpleEater - I will check. Do apply anyway in the meantime.

I would love to try on my post-pregnancy stretchmarks. I hate them :( I have used it before and seen really good results but it is pricey stuff!

YaMaYaMa · 24/10/2011 13:35

As we have to give our real names, could you check that the company doesnt intend to disclose them in a mass email like another company did a few months ago pleeeaaaase?

Thank yooouuu!

AnnMumsnet · 24/10/2011 13:38

YaMaYaMa - no - we tell them very specifically the name and address is simply to send you the product (should you be selected) - we only pass on name and address and nothing else. All emails come from MN

Oh yes please! I have two lovely long scars on my tummy. One from my c-section and the other from the op I had when my ectopic ruptured.

miniwedge · 24/10/2011 13:40

Done. I'd love to see if it will improve my awful acne scars. Polycystic ovaries are rubbish.

HauntyMython · 24/10/2011 13:45

done.

actually not too bothered about my stretch marks, but I'd love to try and reduce the vast amount of scarring on my arms from my self-harming days :(

hubbard86 · 24/10/2011 13:49

would love to try it on my son who has facial scars from a dog bite. Have sent form.

genial · 24/10/2011 14:01

Done. I recently had surgery on my neck. The scar is nearly healed, and I would be interested to see if massaging the scar with Bio-oil would improve the appearance (quite bumpy still).

Would be nice to see my self harm scars fade. Some things really are best forgotten.

TheLadyEvenstar · 24/10/2011 14:33

I just signed up - have been told this would do wonders for my recent scar from surgey.

HattiFattner · 24/10/2011 14:41

id like to try this for my DD. She hit puberty and grew...and grew....and grew. To be fair, she did start tiny. But although she is only a size 8-10, she has stretch marks, and now she wont swim, as people will see. Poor sausage, she gets her skin from my side. (my tum looks like a london underground map by the time id finished have giant babies!)

CoralRose · 24/10/2011 15:03

Slightly off topic, but just a quick question... Do Bio Oil do a product suitable for babies? My 5mth old has a terrible scar from operation he had when he was tiny and I've thought about what I can do to minimise it, but I can't find anything.
