We've been asked by The Lawn Tennis Association, the governing body for tennis, to help promote its allplay campaign that is helping more people play tennis. We are looking to find 5 Mumsnetters and their families to take on the Mumsnet allplay challenge.

This involves you having tennis lessons and your family playing tennis together, at local courts, once a week over a four week period and adding feedback on Mumsnet.

Did you know that there are over 4,600 places to play tennis across the country? To find one close to you visit www.allplaytennis.com

If you are selected to take part you will receive:

A racket
Trainers
An allplay Tshirt
5 Tennis lessons - for you only - to be organised direct with the venue at your convenience
4 x 2 hour family court time - this can be flexible
£100 voucher for a store of your choice when you have added all the feedback
and 3 additional rackets for your family

If selected you will need to add feedback twice a week (once after lesson and once after family playing sessions) for the four week period.

The challenge will start w/c 3 October so please only apply if you are going to be around then (and for the next 4 weeks)

Who are we looking for....
We're looking for mums with at least one child (old enough to play). You need to be in the UK and have a tennis court near you that you?d be happy to play on. You don't need any tennis playing experience, though you must be interested in learning to play and getting fit.

If you want to be 'IN' (gettit?!) please sign up here

If you are selected we will email you - we'd then need to collect information from you on: your shoe size, clothing size, height and details of who would want three additional rackets (age and level of tennis). Your details will be sent to the LTA who would send you the equipment and will work with you to confirm details of your coach/ location of lessons

Best of luck
MNHQ

Collision · 09/09/2011 19:22

link not working

LawrieMarlow · 09/09/2011 19:29

Managed to find an all play website here. And discovered the place where DD has her lessons is listed (although not so sure about having lessons there from 3rd October as DD's lessons stop that week due to it being outdoors I think).

Collision · 09/09/2011 19:30

Have filled the form in but would now like to add the location of

Westmoreland Park
Bracknell

which is where we would play please.

Collision · 09/09/2011 19:32

Forget that!

Change to indoor Esporta Royal County of Berkshire Racquets in Bracknell

please

Can't find anywhere in Northern Ireland. What a shame we have been left out. There are loads of clubs courts I think.

CointreauVersial · 09/09/2011 22:02

Filled in.

Ha! That would be a lot of fun! I would, however, be soundly beaten at tennis by 11yo DS.

Moodykat · 09/09/2011 22:49

Is 3 considered too young for tennis?!

midnightexpress · 09/09/2011 23:23

DP would whoop my arse. Is 4 and 5 too young for lessons? I'm thinking probably too young for doubles, at any rate...Sad

Humourme · 10/09/2011 05:53

Filled in my details and pressed "send" - but the system didn't acknowledge it. Is that right? Guess I'll have to wait and see!

EssentialFattyAcid · 10/09/2011 07:55

Do you need to be a family of four to enter? We are three but could do it with another relative or friend - is that allowed?

readinginsteadnow · 10/09/2011 08:44

Looked up my postcode on the website, and there are loads near us... but its flagging up 2 courts near us that are just in manky parks and I've never seen anyone except hoodies skating on! So we could meet there and get a lesson? Thats good, but we could go down there anyway to play the family doubles, which is why I think I might be misunderstanding this....

AnnMumsnet · 10/09/2011 09:28

EssentialFattyAcid - that's fine - we just want people with at least one child and you'll get 3 extra rackets.

Humourme - your form went in ok thanks
midnightexpress - my ds played a bit at age 4. In this the lessons are just for you though but you get court time for the family
angelinterceptor - let me ask on Monday re NI

Merrylegs · 10/09/2011 09:54

Ah, the lessons are just for us? That wasn't at all clear on the form! Still, the allplay website is only for 16s and over so I guess it makes sense.

Merrylegs · 10/09/2011 09:57

(Have you changed the instructions since yesterday? Just re read the OP and it is clear now but am sure it didn't read like that yesterday? Or am I being a complete numpty?!)

AnnMumsnet · 10/09/2011 11:46

No I haven't Merrylegs....Smile
