Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

I thought they were a bit cardboardy and din't really enjoy eating them. They reminded me of a cheap tortilla chip and badly flavoured

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?

As a bit of a cardboardy tortilla chip Blush

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?

The sweet chill ones definitely. Bacon would be good, salt and vinegar maybe?

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?

That I probably would eat less of them due to finding them a bit bland! Grin I would normally eat snack after snack if I liked something, so that would be a good thing I suppose - i would eat less of them and wouldn't refuse them if that was all that was on offer.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?

NO I wouldn't but I would say try them as the chilli ones were quite nice. The salted ones were the blandest thing I have ever eaten i think!

MadameCastafiore · 10/09/2011 17:48

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

Liked certain flavours, were a nice healthy snack which didn't make me feel guilty and I thought the packaging was very nice a bit like the low fat crisps in M&S.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?
Thin crispy frazzles - without the grease and the bacony burps that seem to linger for at least a couple of hours!

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?

The sweet chill ones definitely. I like pickled oncions so maybe that flavour would be nice.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?

Decent amount in the pack, not at all greay and not powdery like a lot of low fat crisps/snacks.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yers I would we are all always on a diet so anything we find that us tasty and low fat we have a chat about,

IHeartIona · 10/09/2011 20:49

Came back from hol yesterday to find a box of these on my doorstep! Have tried only the lightly salted blue pack so far but will try the rest pronto and come back with my feedback.

Deanna1977 · 10/09/2011 21:46

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?
The packaging was good. The texture of the crisps are good, nice & light. The flavours range from tasty to very unpleasant.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?
Light crisp, wholemeal texture.

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?

I liked the Sea Salt & Chilli fflavours the best.
Onion & Rosemary - left a very unpleasant aftertaste & didn?t taste remotely of Rosemary.
Cheddar was better but left an Onion aftertaste!
Sour Cream/Black Pepper ? was an OK taste but the Black Pepper didn?t come through. It would be best as a snack for dipping but not on its own.

I would like to see salt & vinegar in the range.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?
Lightness of texture

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend the sea salt & maybe the Chilli ones but none of the others. The flavours just aren?t good enough.

CointreauVersial · 10/09/2011 23:38

OK, we've finally scoffed all five packs; here are the marks from the family Cointreau......

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?
Packs looked good, product looked appetising. Yes, we very much enjoyed eating them, delicious.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?
I'd say they were wheaty wholegrain snacks a bit more tasty and interesting than crisps.

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?
DD1, DH and I all liked the Rosemary & onion the best, really unusual and tasty. DD2 prefered the Sea Salt ones; DS1 liked the Cheddar ones. Personally I thought the Cheddar ones were a bit too strongly cheesy, but tbh we enjoyed them all. If you were going to add more flavours to the range, keep them subtle, so the lovely wheaty taste isn't masked.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?
They were very light and crispy.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I think I would. BUT I did think the packs were a little small - a few mouthfuls and they were gone.

marmitemad · 10/09/2011 23:47

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

dd (aged 4) commented on the pretty bags but refused point blank to try any of the flavours. I think the packaging looks quite grown up and expensive looking. Dh and I liked 2 flavours so much (see below), we have now bought multipacks to continue eating them.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?
Healthier wholegrain crisps

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?

I liked the sour cream & cracked black pepper the most, Dh rated the sweet chilli as his favourite (we have bought more supplies in of these flavours).
I did not enjoy any of the other flavours. Cheddar & Onion and Ionion & roasemary were too strong for me and the lightly sea salted flavour just tasted of cardboard and I only managed a few crisps. Dh did not object to any of the other flavours.

I would like to to a flavour using balsamic vinegar with something else.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?

flavour and texture (most wholegrain crisps are not very nice imo)

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?

I have shared the sour cream & black pepper with a group of friends and they all enjoyed this flavour as well.

NewbeeMummy · 11/09/2011 14:49

Having tried all the flavours I can finally add my full feedback

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?
Really like these, the flavour range seems to be a nice variation on the standard crisp flavours, love the texture and taste of the base product.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?
a wheat based baked snack, which is better than all the others I've tried. (description used when explaining them to DP last night)

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?
Cheese - very strong cheese flavour, tasted too artificial for my liking
Sour Cream and black pepper - Really nice, DD didn't like the pepper taste
Sweet chilli - a bit bland (From DP - he prefers chilli flavoured snacks, were as I give them a miss)
Sea salt - I really liked this one as a simple snack
Onion and rosemary - I really liked this one - but couldn't taste the rosemary
Overall would probably get the seasalt ones or the onion and rosemary again

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?
I love the fact that they're not oily like most savory snacks.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?
Definitely - I'm of an age that we're all concious about our weight, but want something that is still tasty and enjoyable to eat. Sunbites definitely ticks both boxes.

Eddas · 11/09/2011 18:05

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

We loved the packaging, very inviting. If I saw them in the shops i'd try them!

We thought the crisps had a nice texture but some of them had a sweet aftertaste which wasn't nice (lightly salted & onion & rosemary)

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?

A bit like a ryvita type crisp, but thiner

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?

We liked cheddar best and would like some meaty flavours, eg chicken or bacon

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?

They were thin so more crisp like than other healthier snack type crisps (eg ryvita and snack a jacks) which gives them a crisp feel.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, but only if someone asked about them, ie I probably wouldn't suggest someone tries them but if someone asked me if they should try them I'd say yes. The reason I wouldn't mention them first is they aren't the sort of thing i'd rave about, quite a pleasant crisp but not 'special' IYSWIM.

cantrememberanynurseryrhymes · 11/09/2011 20:55

Firstly thank you for the sunbites, they were yummy.
Q1. I did enjoy eating all the flavours and have previously bought sunbites (original 2 flavours). This time they seemed a bit sweeter than before (might just be my post pregnancy taste buds)!
Q2. Crunchy wholegrain snack. Like crisps but different.
Q3. Onion and Rosemary. However, I was very surprised by the sea salt flavour which I thought I would find boring. They make a good accompaniment to a cheese sandwich.
Q4. Lovely crunchiness
Q5. Definitely. They are tasty and are a yummy alternative to a boring crisp.

Thanks again

brightermornings · 11/09/2011 21:37

I've tried all of mine they were delicious. My favourite flavour were the cheese ones. I'd like to see bbq flavour. Very light and crunchy. I would recommend them to everyone!!

cherub59 · 11/09/2011 22:08

Yum loved them all.

would say that the chilli flavour was quite subtle? I expected more of a kick - having said that I thought they were lovely. Rosemary flavour ones were quite unusual - haven't come across that before and thought it was lovely, our favourite.

Doing a taste test with my DS1 and DS2 age 3 and 2, they loved them, but I think they found the salt ones a bit boring as tried to swap them bite by bite for other flavours.

When opened the bags look a little bit empty - probably because being such a uniform shape they all sit really close together.

I liked the cheddar ones - and I don't like cheese crisps!

Overall will definitely buy them again. Very different from normal crisps and did seem a bit healthier, though one packet does not make much difference on hunger and could easily chomp through two so then they wouldn't actually be any healthier!!!

My boys also fought over who had the pink packet.....

Doobydoo · 12/09/2011 09:36

Testers...DP[47], ME[42], DS1[12], DS2[4 1/2]

Q1...We all enjoyed them all!Really nice texture and crunch.Flavours spot on.

Q2...Flavouring not too strong, crunchy no horrid after taste and not greasy.

Q3...DS2 nd myself liked the Onion and Rosemary. DP and DS1 liked the Sweet Chilli. We did like 'em all though!Maybe Worcester Sauce?

Q4...Flavouring[just right]Not too strong.

Q5...Would do as healthier and tasty too.Non greasy.and Crunchy.

Would be interested to know how much they retail for. Also loved the packaging.

Snowfire · 12/09/2011 11:28

I really enjoyed testing these, I like the texture, very light and crisp, and would definitely recommend them to friends.

The packaging is good, they look rustic and wholesome :)

My favourite flavour was the rosemary and onion and least favourite was the chilli as it left a strange aftertaste, almost garlicy.
DD's favourite was the cheese which I also liked even though I'm not usually a fan of cheese crisps.

I would agree with some other posters that they seem quite sweet although this wasn't unpleasent, some of the flavours would have been better if they were more savoury.

If I could add any flavour it would have to be salt and vinegar, maybe sea salt and balsamic? That would be lovely!

youmustbeyolking · 12/09/2011 11:40

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

DS loved them. DD knew they were healthy crisps and wasn't so keen Hmm. DH and I loved them except the onion one. They tasted too much like ketchup to us.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?

A bagged snack ideal for a lunchbox. They look like frazzles, but taste less salty. Low fat but you can taste that they are low flat.

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?

The rosemary ones were nice and made a change from the more usual flavours.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?

They are a light snack. Nothing that differentiates them too much. I think there is great potential with the flavours though.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?

If we got to talking about crisps then yes I would recommend. Otherwise no.

Tikkabillajive · 12/09/2011 11:49

We had a tasting session at the weekend, which all the family joined in, and really enjoyed testing this product!

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

All of the family enjoyed them. The packaging is attractive and the crisps are delicious ? light and crispy, and I like the ?seedy? wholegrain texture. Also liked the fact that they aren?t as greasy as normal crisps.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?

Wholegrain crisps ? lighter and slightly healthier than regular crisps.

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?

DH and I liked the sour cream and black pepper ones the best (these are the ones I have bought a few times before) followed by the sweet chilli ? although we thought these could have been a lot spicier!

It would be nice to see a seasalt and balsamic vinegar flavour. And maybe a paprika/bacon flavour?

Neither DH or I liked the cheddar flavour and found it far too strong ? this was our dd?s favourite though.

Not keen on the onion and rosemary either and couldn?t taste the rosemary flavour at all.

I did think that all the flavours seemed to have far too much sugar in them.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?

The wholegrain texture.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes probably, because they are really tasty. I?ll certainly buy them again - think I would only buy the sour cream or sweet chilli flavours though.

Belo · 12/09/2011 15:28

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

Looked good and tempting. Didn't get to eat of the testing selection though... They arrived Friday a.m. I went away for the weekend and they were all gone by the time I got back on Sunday! My husband really enjoyed them and has asked me to see if Ocado do them.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were? I've since bought myself a packet and they feel like un-greasy, wholegrain crisps

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range? I had the Rosemary one which wasn't the one that appealed to me the most, but the only one they had in the shop. The cheese one and the chilli one appeals to me the most

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?

Healthier then crisps. Has fibre.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, definitely

weenwee · 12/09/2011 15:29

I'm a big fan of baked crisps (coming from the US), but my Brit hubby likes the old school deep fried potato slips, so I knew selling this to him would be difficult. However, Walkers has made it very, very easy to enjoy these yummy snacks. A wonderful combo of spices and crispiness, Walkers makes great tasting crisps that don't hurt the waistline (or the pocketbook!). While I was not a huge fan of the sweet chili, I LOVED the onion, and hubs even snarfed down the cheddar without a moment's thought to how they weren't "proper". Thanks, Walkers Sunbites, we have a new favorite snack!

Ineedcake · 12/09/2011 15:32

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

Thought the packaging was attractive - they look a bit more upmarket than normal crisps but not too posh. Perhaps quite feminine packaging though? (That might be what you're aiming for!) Thought the texture was lovely, really light and 'snappy', and not greasy like other crisps. Enjoyed eating them, lovely flavours and the rosemary and onion one was a bit different.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?

Lighter, crunchy crisps. Not greasy and good if you fancy a bit of a snack. I didn't think they'd be very filling at first but one packet was enough for me.

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?

Rosemary and onion was my favourite, thought they were all nice. All my normal 'fave' flavours were there really.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?

They're a lighter, slightly healthier crisp, so they're good for when only crisps will do but you don't want the guilt.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?

Probably, if they wanted some crisps! I'd say "Oooh these are really nice have you tried them?" :)

wahwahwah · 12/09/2011 15:32

I didn't get mine! Wahhhhhh

Albertyn66 · 12/09/2011 15:34

I've really enjoyed Sunbites-they actually taste of the flavours they're supposed to, especially the chilli ones. They did taste a bit sweet, probably down to the fact they contain sugar. No bad thing in my opinion as they appeal to my sweet tooth! I've tried them with a number of my friends, all of whom enjoyed them and I wouldn't hestitate to recommend them for their tasty and interesting flavours.

memagog · 12/09/2011 15:38

Q1 We love Sunbites - We have been eating them since they came out! Healthy crisp alternative and filling, low calorie

Q2 Filing Low Calorie multigrain crisp alternative

Q3 We love all the flavours but Cream & Pepper are the best. We like a meaty flavour or vinegar

Q4 They are definitely not crisps but they have great flavours and are filling and healthy so are a fantastic alternative

Q5 Yes I would and do!

Fillybuster · 12/09/2011 15:43

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

Loved them! I thought that some of the flavours were a bit sweet, but adults and children alike enjoyed them.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?

Like super-crunchy wheaty crisps.

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?

DD1 and I particularly enjoyed the cheese and onion. Paprika would be nice, as would Vinegar and Marmite (but not together!). I thought the Sour cream ones were far too sweet, but the children enjoyed them.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?

The wholegrain element was quite 'stand out'. I also like the packaging and (relatively) low fat content.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes - they're fairly diet friendly, tasty and crunchy - so make a nice change to crisps and are nicer than rice-cake-style snacks!

Thanks again!

Ainslie · 12/09/2011 15:47

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?
Enjoyed them because they were nice and light and well flavoured, not over flavoured.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?
Light wheatie crisps

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?
Chili was the nicest.
No other flavours I can think to add

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?
They're not potato, and most other non potato based crisps are not very nice.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, because they're nice!

ClaimedByMe · 12/09/2011 15:53

Q1 What was your overall impression of the product? Did you enjoy eating them or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

My overall impression was good, liked the packets. I did enjoy eating them, lots of flavour, the texture took a bit of getting used to.

Q2 How would you describe Sunbites to a friend who didn't know what they were?

Quite crunchy crisps with good flavour.

Q3 Which flavour did you like the most? Are there any other flavours you'd like to see in the range?

I loved the sweet chilli, i would like to see a salt and vinegar.

Q4 Thinking about Sunbites in comparison to other snacks, can you think of one feature which makes Sunbites different? If so, what is it?

The crunchyness and nice flavours.

Q5 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Sunbites to your friends? If so, why? If not, why not?

I think i would reccomend them to a friend that is looking for a healither alternative to crisps.

Lambethlil · 12/09/2011 16:02

Q1 I liked the packaging. Flavours were good, but all quite sweet.

Q2 A snack between rice cakes and crisps, tasty but sweet.

Q3 Rosemary one, something sharper would be nice, or capitalise on the wholewheat aspect and market them as an alternative to digestive biscuits!

Q4 Lightness and sweet flavour.

Q5 I would recomend them as a healthier alternative to crisps.
