Following on from the fab Ford S-MAX and Galaxy testing in Christmas '09-10 and a variety of other projects in 2010, Ford have asked us to now find a total of 15 Mumsnetters and their families from across the UK to take part in a three week test drive. This time we have three newly launched cars on offer - you can choose from...

C-MAX - a 5 seater, featuring

~ Five flexible seats
~ Power operated tailgate
~ Panoramic roof and interior
~ Active Park Assist

Grand C-MAX - a 7 seater, featuring

~ Seven flexible seats
~ Power operated tailgate
~ Sliding doors
~ Active Park Assist

or the Focus, featuring

~ Active City Stop
~ Active Park Assist
~ Lane Keeping Aid
~ Traffic Sign Recognition

Ford kindly let JustineMumsnet and CarrieMumsnet put the Grand C-MAX's through their paces recently -

The team at Ford say "We're delighted to be working with Mumsnet again in 2011. We are looking forward to finding out what Mumsnetters think of the all new Ford C-MAX, Grand C-MAX and the Focus"

Conditions - please read
You can use the car for anything (legal) - but you would need to pay for any fuel you use, as well as any parking permits or parking/traffic fines.

Insurance will be arranged as long as you:-

~ are aged 25 or over
~ have had a full driving licence for three years or more and
~ have no convictions for dangerous driving.

What will test drivers need to do?
If selected, you would need to be able to offer feedback about the car on Talk at least twice a week for the duration of the three week test plus a final round up of your thoughts.

We will also be asking you to use the video camera provided to film yourself reviewing the car with your family plus we'll need a photo of you with the car and some details about you and your family. All footage, photos and information may be shown on Mumsnet and potentially used by Ford elsewhere.

Timetable
The test drives are scheduled to take place as follows - each one will last 3 weeks.

Please only apply for a car when you are around and able to test the car as well as add your feedback.

C-MAX w/c 25 July to c14 Aug x 5 testers
Grand C-MAX w/c 15 Aug to c4 Sept x 5 testers
Focus w/c 12 Sept to c2 Oct x 5 testers

If selected your name and contact details would be passed to the team at Ford who would make arrangements to deliver the car on a convenient day and time to suit you.

If you're interested in taking part please sign up by clicking here.

If you are selected, we'll be in touch.

If you're selected for the test drive and add feedback as required on Mumsnet, you will receive £100 of John Lewis vouchers.

Thanks and good luck

Hi
Slight change of dates for C-MAX - now will start w/c 25 July-c.14 Aug - if you applied for the C-MAX as your first choice or chose 'any' and now can't do that please let me know. If you are selected we'll double check then too in case you don't spot this.

Well as my car is well and truly fucked this would be a godsend for three weeks.

ibby - I amended the dates above so yes they look the same but they didn't before (IYKWIM) - so those who applied before this pm would have applied for the old dates!

Oh.....I see what you mean. I did say that I could do the C-Max (first one) and the focus, but the last few days of C-Max would now clash with hols...but presume this would be sorted if I was chosen?

(sorry for slowness on dates!)

I've been driving Fords most of my life having inherited my Dad's old ones. First was a Escort Mark 2, then a Sierra, a Fiesta, and Mark 2 & 3 Mondeos. My ultimate car would be a Sierra Cosworth [hgrin] it's the girl racer in me! But would love to test drive a Grand C Max or the new Focus. Have yet to see the videos, but will try and watch them at the weekend [hsmile]

Can I ask, I put down my preferences re models but I am available and very happy to try any of the three! There wasn't a space to indicate this however, but can it please be taken into account?

Ann , would you mind checking that mine went through? Thanks Grin
Also, new dates are fine with me! Are the cars petrol or diesel? Do we get a choice if we get through?

Oooh, it doesn't confirm whether your form went through or not.
Would love to see how the Grand C Max measures up to my Grand Espace. Although mine is oldish so I'm sure I'd love a newer one!

OMG! Have just seen the video with the Active park demo, I LOVE IT!!!!!
I cannot parallel park to save my life, especially in my big old bus. DH can and I find it really infuriating. Maybe I could pretend it's me doing it.Grin
