Warburtons have launched two new products - Square(ish) Wraps and Sandwich Thins and they're looking for 30 Mumsnetters to sign up to try them and come up with some [hopefully!] exciting recipes. Here's what Warburtons say about the two products:

"We've created Square(ish) Wraps and Sandwich Thins - top, roll or fold our Square(ish) Wraps with your favourite hot or cold fillings to create tasty lunchtime options or quick and easy suppers to keep the whole family happy. Warburtons Sandwich Thins are the new 'skinny' bread on the block and can be topped, filled or toasted with whatever takes your fancy. With 100 calories per Thin, they are ideal as a light lunchtime option."

For more information about the products, including nutritional and allergy information, please click here.

Warburtons would like testers to come up with recipes using the products, post them on a feedback thread on Mumsnet and then email us photos of your creations for possible use on the Warburtons page on Mumsnet (coming soon!). Selected testers will be sent a hamper containing the two products, shopping vouchers to buy ingredients for their recipes and a few other goodies.

The best recipes will then be chosen to feature on the Warburtons page on Mumsnet and all those who submit a recipe and photo will be entered into a competition to win an adventure weekend at a UK theme park for their family. All testers who put a recipe on the thread (as well as any other feedback they want to give about the products) will also be entered into a prize draw to win a £150 voucher for M&S.

This product test is open to all UK Mumsnetters who are available to take part in the next couple of weeks. If you are selected for this project, the hampers will be sent out next week and we'd like testers to use the product and tell us about their recipes in the next week or two.

If you are interested in taking part please sign up here.

Thanks
MNHQ

Those sandwich thins are lovely.

Went conservative for a first try with Tuna Mayo and Cucumber and really, really enjoyed it. Love that they're pre-cut too as that would've been fiddly.

DS insisted on eating his completely plain but said it was Yummy.

Will try something more adventurous tomorrow. I'm thinking maybe Bacon and Brie with some Rocket.

EduStudent · 11/03/2011 15:17

Oh the Squareish Wraps are lovely! Much more bready than tortilla wraps, IYSWIM. Went for a fairly unadventurous smoked salmon with philadelphia and rocket/spinach/watercress.

FourFortyFour · 11/03/2011 15:56

I am thinking ds2 would like his with houmous Grin.

FourFortyFour · 11/03/2011 15:58

Can't get in to the blinking packet Hmm.

FourFortyFour · 11/03/2011 16:08

DS1 is having his with dried Italian cheese in it.

He started eating it plain to start with and kept saying "This is really nice, this is really nice, this is really nice."

EduStudent · 11/03/2011 16:11

FourFortyFour I may have attacked the packet with scissors Blush

My mum has just given me a recipe to try tonight.

The Sandwiches are called Cheese Shrimpy's. I'm going to use the wraps but it would prob work just as well with the Sandwich Thins.

Small block of Cheddar (or any other)
Cup of prawns
1 egg
2 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tbsp of sour cream
2 tbsp butter
half a lemon
2 Square(ish) Wraps!!

Butter the wraps.
Mix prawns with mayo, sour cream and lemon juice.
Spread mixture on to the wraps.
Beat an egg until light and fluffy an fold in grated
cheese.
Completely cover the prawn mixture with the cheesy topping and bake for about 15-20 mins until golden brown and bubbling.

Eat straight away Smile

Having already carried out my own mini- tasting session before the kids got home from school I can share my findings Smile
The Sandwich Thins are very tasty, I hadn't realised that they were cut in half. They taste like 'mild' sodabread. I toasted one and had it with a bit of cheese and mango chutney (shared with neighbour as saving myself for Cheese Shrimpy later on). The Wraps are brilliant, more versatile and substantial than other wraps. They too were v tasty.I stuffed one full of salad and my neighbour was v impressed.

I will be buying them when I see them in the shop.

whomovedmychocolate · 11/03/2011 17:00

I'm planning to do a few savoury ones and some chocolatey ones with the wraps.

Actually I was looking at the wraps and I reckon they'd make amazing french toast (dip in egg and powdered sugar, then fry in salted butter, then sprinkle yet more sugar.

withagoat · 11/03/2011 17:05

I HAVE The box

thecatatemygymsuit · 11/03/2011 17:05

The thins are also yummy, much nicer than bog-standard sliced bread for some reason. Just had a genteel cucumber sandwich in one.
But I can also report serious package opening difficulties!

Blatherskite · 11/03/2011 17:13

I had to take my brand new kitchen scissors to the pack. Definitely not 'easy open'!

whomovedmychocolate · 11/03/2011 17:22

The wraps packaging defeated me too - and now they won't stay shut Hmm

Have not tried the thins yet. But at least the cat won't break into them if they are well packaged.

IlsaLund · 11/03/2011 17:24

Just come home to find my box - I wasn't expecting it and DH accused me thought I had broken my shopping embargo! looking forward to trying these.

FourFortyFour · 11/03/2011 17:31

I gave up and used scissors in the end. They are now in a plastic box to keep fresh.

DS1 and his plain.
DS2 had houmous in his.

I am thinking of trying fried banana and chocolate spread or cheese and bacon.

FourFortyFour · 11/03/2011 17:56

Got the email now, Ann.

You forgot to spell check Grin.

JoyceBarnaby · 11/03/2011 18:00

Oh, I'm so excited - I didn't think I'd been selected but just got the email!! The box was delivered today but is at sorting office so I'll pick it up tomorrow morning.

Mmmm - looking forward to this one, thanks!!!

whomovedmychocolate · 11/03/2011 18:06

Ooh I have an email now (with a message saying it's a resend).

AnnMumsnet · 11/03/2011 18:13

fortforty - put me out of my misery!

Should have said Warburtons increased the number of testers from 30 to 50.

FourFortyFour · 11/03/2011 18:15

whomovedmychocolate · 11/03/2011 18:22

The book was a really lovely touch too - thank you Ann and Warbutons. We have been to Sainsburys for stuff to stuff.

Ann Do you want high res images or just low res emailing? And mine have the kids scoffing in, is that okay?

AnnMumsnet · 11/03/2011 18:24
Blush whomoved..whatever is easier I think - and if kids are in it then just so you know they may well appear on t'net so if you're happy then it's fine!
