I recieved 2 jumpers and 1 pair of trousers for my 4 yr old boy, here is my feedback:

Jumper

Q1 - Colour looked a bit faded like it had been in the sun too long
Q2 - It fitted fine
Q3 - He wanted to know why it didnt have the school logo on it, other than that he couldnt care less
Q4 - Have washed a couple of times and it is looking a bit worn now
Q5 - i think the quality of the material is cheap looking
Q6 - Value for money is great but the cheap quality of the material wouldt last the term out
Q7 - I wouldnt buy this particulaer item again, i would recommend to someone on a
budget

Q8 - I havent bought uniform from other supermarkets so cant compare

Trousers

Q1 - First impressions were good
Q2 - Far too long in the legs, had to take a good 3 inches off
Q3 - Wasnt bothered
Q4 - Trousers have washed well
Q5 - Trousers are wearing well (although they are fraying a bit at the hem but that is down to my crap hemming, which i would have had to do if they fitted in the length)
Q6 - Good value for money and material doesnt look cheap either

Cant comment on Polo shirts as i didnt recieve any

I have received no uniform at all and no communication from ASDA.

I received 2 polo shirts, one grey skirt and a burgundy sweatshirt for my 5year old daughter:

Q1 They all looked fine
Q2 Everything fitted well - the skirt is slightly short but she is very tall!
Q3 She likes the shirts and the skirt but she's not keen on the sweatshirt, purley because of the colour!
Q4 Skirt has washed very well, the shirts are ok, but after three or four washes, the stitching at the side is coming away slightly
Q5 Bearing up well to being worn, the quality of the skirt is good, sweatshirt rather thin
Q6 Excellent value for money as it will be quickly grown out of
Q7 Some parts of it - skirt and shirts probably. Yes

I received a pair of trousers, 2 polo tops, and a jumper for my 4 year old son.

Q1 My first impression was good of the trousers and the polo tops (especially considering they are only £2 for 2!). I thought the jumper seemed thin compared with the proper school jumper.
Q2 Polo tops were perfect, jumper had a bit of growing room. Trousers were a bit long but had an adjustable waist, which was good.
Q3 He didn't like the fact that the jumper didn't have the school badge on - what a snob!
Q4 Very well! Marks wash out of the polos very easily. The jumper is washing much better than the school's own ones.
Q5 Very good - especially the polo tops.
Q6 Excellent!
Q7 I would buy it again and I would recomment it.
Q8 Very highly - especially the trousers, as some other makes have fussy fastenings and don't have adjustable waists.

I have a pair of grey trousers, a royal blue v-necked jumper and a pack of pale blue polo shirts - all in age 5-6 for boy

• Trousers great cut, style and quality, polo shirts kind of thin but very good cut, jumper lovely shape and cut but awfully thin for school

• All fitted well, though the jumper was very small for a 5-6. The trousers were adjustable and even pulled in really tight on the waist looked nicely fitted.

Q3 What did your child think of their new uniform?

• doesnt like 3 buttons on the polos, prefers two (picky moo) liked the trousers now have got the hang of the hook and eye, and likes the jumper as his "spare"

Q4 How do you feel the uniform is bearing up to washing?

• quite disappointed. He's only been in school 6 weeks half days and rotated wear with our existing uniform. Already the polo shirts have faded hugely to a very pale blue, and the jumper looks months old. All washed together in non bio and tumbled, yet its not holding up against the stuff we have already. The trousers though are excellent still.

Q5 How do you feel the uniform is bearing up to being worn? How would you rate the quality?

• polo shirts and jumper 5/10. trousers 8/10.

Q6 How would you rate the value for money of the uniform?

• 6/10. I paid the same price for the budget range in M&S which seems to be holding up a lot better.

• trousers yes, maybe a jumper at £2 as a spare, nothing else no. Probably wouldnt recommend either, unless it was end of term and not needed for longer than a couple of weeks.

Received: cardigan, polo shirts and a pair of trousers.

1. First impressions - cardigan a pretty style and good colour.. Trouser - not keen on the jerseyish fabric but keen to find trousers that fit dd. The polo shirts are pretty and have a good fit. But the fabric was a little thin.
2. The cardigan is roomy for dd. The polo shirts fit well and the trousers fit also. Always problematic because dd wants trousers but can't bear tummy constriction..
3. Dd very pleased..
4. The trousers have been washed about 4 times and have fared pretty well. No bobbling. The shirts wash ok but need ironing after tumble drying whereas the usual, thicker school ones don't.. The cardigan washed wll - didn't shrink which was a shame because is still too big.
5. Quality reasonable. Not amazing (but then not sure such s thing exists in uniform wear) but not bad.
6. Good
7. Yes - would be on my radar and am interested to see what the summer frocks are like.

8.. Have only really bought summer frocks from sainsbos. But seems to me from browsing to be better quality.

I requested a charcoal skirt, a black boyfriend cardigan and a white shirt for my 14 year old DD.

Q1 My first impression of the skirt was "Oh. It's black." But it is really nice and well taylored, just non regulation at DDs school so no good for uniform. The cardigan is lovely. DD doesn't wear it for school, she wears it with leggings to go out with her friends and loves it. The shirt still hasn't arrived.
Q2 Although DD can't wear the skirt to school because of the colour it fits like a glove. The cardigan also could have been made just for her, looks great. Don't know about shirt.
Q3 DD likes the skirt but hasn't worn it yet. In love with the cardigan. Still no shirt.
Q4 The only item I have washed is the cardigan which comes out very well. Has not faded or shrunk and is still nice and soft.
Q5 I would rate the quality as 10/10.
Q6 Brilliant. I will reconsider buying uniform from Tesco next year.

I received a burgundy cardigan, 3 polo shirts and a pair of culottes for a 5 year old girl-asked for 5-6 but got 6-7 in cardigan.

1. First impressions -cardigan large but seemed nice fabric and shape. The polo shirts looked quite thin and an off-white/grey colour. The culottes looked large on the waist, but nicely made.

2.The polo shirt fit. The cardigan was too big, but I rolled the sleeves up and it looked okay. The culottes were really big in the waist and did not have an adjustable waistband, but by fastening the tie at the front I made them fit.

3.My daughter loved the cardigan and liked the culottes but said she thought the polo shirts were 'for boys' as I usually buy them with fluted collars.

4.The culottes are washing really well and the fabric gets softer with each wash. The cardigan washes nicely and doesn't lose it's shape, but it appears to be starting to fade after only 2 washes.The polo shirts are losing shape a bit.

5.The culottes and cardigan are wearing well, but not the polo shirts. I would rate the culottes as 9/10, the cardigan as 8/10 and the polo shirts as 4/10.

6.Good value for money, apart from the polo shirts.

7.I would buy the culottes, but in a smaller size than usual.I think I would buy the cardigan too. I would recommend the culottes and possibly the cardigan.

8.I found Tesco to have thicker and less 'stiff' fabric for skirts and trousers, but prefer Asda for cardigans -Tesco tend to be thinner and lose their shape. The best polo shirts I tried were from Sainsbury's.

Dd is 10. I received a puff sleeved blouse, a black cardigan... but the culottes never arrived.

Q1 What were your first impressions of the uniform? Dd loved the style of the blouse. I thought it was a bit thin, but she wears a plain croptop underneath and it's fine.
Cardigan is ace - very trendy.

Yes, both blouse and cardigan fit well.

Loved them - the blouse is her favourite shirt. She even wears the cardi at weekends with jeans and a checked shirt!

Very well - the blouse is very easy to iron, and is in and out of the wash constantly.

Q1 What were your first impressions of the uniform?

Really good! Trousers felt thick and sturdy, and the shirts were lovely and crisp. First impressions of the sweatshirt were that it looked slightly cheaper than the shirt & school trousers.

Q2 Did it fit your child? If applicable were you able to adjust it to fit your child?

Very well, but slightly big. However that was my fault for ordering the aged 8-9 sizes. :)

He had no thoughts. No, not true - he didn't like the "proper" shirt (ie, stiff collar not polo shirt). But that's his issue and not something for you to worry your jovial bottom-smacking selves over.

Well. Especially the shirts so despised by my son. They still look crisp, and don't need ironing, which is good, as they won't get ironed.

It's wearing well. 7/10 for quality.

Brilliant for me, as it was free! I can't really comment I'm afraid as in all the excitement I have completely forgotten how much they would've cost to buy. Sorry. I realise you probably will not use me as a reviewer again.

I'd say it lacked the total awesomeness (awesomity?) of the classic M&S uniform in that the M&S stuff would withstand nuclear force... But then, it costs about the same s a Trident Missile to buy it all from M&SThe Asda kit is just as good as the Matalan stuff I bought last year.

OK. Cardi good quality, shirts too. Culottes substituted for pleated skirt, so wondered if pleats are truly non-iron.

Dd received a cardigan, a pinafore and polo shirts.

Q1 What were your first impressions of the uniform?The cardigan was rather thin so not something I would consider for the winter months tbh. It was a good colour and washed well. Unfortunately she fell after wearing it twice and washing it once and made a huge hole in the sleeve.The pinafore was again thin but it was a nice dark grey and a practical style. The polo shirts were a nice style liked the collar detail and the fullness of the sleeves.

Q2 Did it fit your child? If applicable were you able to adjust it to fit your child? It did fit but I ordered 5 to 6 even though she is almost 8 because she is quite dainty.

Q3 What did your child think of their new uniform? She liked the colour and said it was soft.

Q4 How do you feel the uniform is bearing up to washing?The pinafore is great, washes well needs little ironing. The polo shirts haven't held their colour so well but they have held their shape.

Q8 How would you say the Asda uniform compares to other supermarket uniforms? I think Tesco and Sainsburys uniforms are better quality and for little extra expense. M&S is superior to all the supermarkets IMO and the slight extra cost is borne out by the durability.

I received 2 white polo shits, 1 red jumper and a pair of adjustable waist dark grey trousers. All for a boy age 5.

I think they have done well. The polo shirts haven't shrunk or lost their shape yet. Trousers washed well and still look as new. The jumper was a bit of a disappointment as it shrunk a bit in the wash. If I was buying again, I would buy a size up.

All items have lasted well, no holes or frayed edges.

Good. I think the trousers would last until he grew out of them. The polo shirts and jumpers are cheap enough to buy again when they start to look a bit scruffy.

Uniform was for girl aged 7-8. We had a pinafore, a cardigan and two-pack of shirts

Q1 What were your first impressions of the uniform?: Thought the shirts were good quality, well-designed and a nice feel to them. Thought the cardigan was nice and soft but a bit thin. Not keen on the design of the pinafore, a bit fashion-y and not in a good way. Fabric felt a bit cheap

Q6 How would you rate the value for money of the uniform? Value for money is reasonable, but not outstandingly so.

Q8 How would you say the Asda uniform compares to other supermarket uniforms? M&S pinafores and cardigans are better quality, without a doubt. Shirts are as good as M&S.

Got a pair of Navy trousers, jumper and a pack of short sleeve shirts (although I asked for long sleeved), all for DS2 (aged 10)

Q1 What were your first impressions of the uniform? All seemed fine. Jumper (as mentioned by a few people already) is very thin, but seemed fairly robust.

Q2 Did it fit your child? If applicable were you able to adjust it to fit your child? DS2 isn't skinny (not fat either, but definitely has a belly) so I order larger than his actual age - consequently trousers fitted on waist (just!) but were too long. No problems in taking them up though. Adjustable waists on larger sized trousers would be greatly appreciated...

Q3 What did your child think of their new uniform? He's happy with it, although also commented on how thin the jumper is.

Q4 How do you feel the uniform is bearing up to washing? It's doing fine so far, still looks good (I use ASDA shirts anyway, and they generally last a school year and beyond)

It's not showing any great signs of wear atm. Quality is good for the price range.

Shirts are excellent value for money, as are the trousers (when I can actually get them in Navy!) Jumpers wear out fairly quickly (fade and start looking tatty) but as they're so cheap, provided you can locate them it's not a big financial crisis to replace them

Q7 Would you buy uniform from Asda again? Would you recommend to someone else?

Yes, provided I can get the colour (have I mentioned enough times how hard it is to get Navy uniform?) I'd be happy to push someone towards ASDA/George for uniforms, although I'd probably recommend they invest in a higher price jumper.

Q8 How would you say the Asda uniform compares to other supermarket uniforms?

Pretty much the same. They all tend to be quite thin tbh - you tend to only get the thicker, higher quality (and higher priced) school clothing from a proper school outfitters, or shops such as BHS and M&S, and even then, their budget range is pretty similar (I'd buy ASDA trousers over the cheapy M&S ones)

This is my eldest child's first term at school so have never bought uniform before!

My dd's uniform arrived just before the school holidays started and she doesn't go back til the 27th.

Uniform was for DS2 age 11. We received 1 jumper, 1 pair trousers and a pack of white short sleeve shirts.

Q1, Jumper felt a bit thin. Trousers and shirt looked fine.

Q2, Shirts were 10-11 because no stock of 11-12 (still waiting for these, card in parcel said they were be sent), they fit DS2 OK but bigger size would have been netter.
Trousers were a little long. Glad waist was adjustable, had to take it in quite a way!
Jumper is a good fit.

Q3, DS2 was happy with them.

Q4, Jumper has faded a little. Mud didn't wash off the trousers very well. Shirt washed fine.

Q5,Quality is good considering price. Trousers have worn a bit on the hem but that is because of the length. Haven't been worn much yet due to not having had them long!

Q6, Good.

Q7, Probably not. May recommend to friends as a cheap option.

Q8, All my DC are kitted out in Tesco uniform which does seem to wash better especially DS2's jumper and trousers. Asda Shirts are no different to Tesco.

Uniform for boy aged 6yrs.

Q1 What were your first impressions of the uniform?

Well I'll put this coppied from what I wrote on the previous thread when it first arrived.

'I have got the jumper and the trousers. There was a note to say the polo shirt would be sent later.

The trousers are good. Waist fits ds well and length is fine (he has skinny waist and is tall so can be difficut to find trousers long enough but with small enough waist).

The jumper is thin compared to the school's own ones. I think it probably won't be enough when it gets to cold winter but it is probably quite useful for this sort of 'in between' weather when seasons are changing and it is a bit cold at times but not freezing.

Also with the jumper my ds is not pleased with it because it doesn't have the school logo on - I know that's not Asda's fault as no way can they stock all the different school logo shirts but as all children at our school do have logo jumpers (but mostly have shop bought polo shirts) then it would mean I would not be likely to buy the Asda jumpers as he will not wear them. They are allowed to have a jumper on for outside PE when it is cold though and so the jumper is good for that use for my ds (the school jumpers are way too thick for this).'

Since I wrote that the white polo shirt has arrived - that seemed fine, good fit. A little thinner compared to others I have (mothercare) but not really a problem because it's not like they are used to keep him warm he always has jumper/fleece to put on.

Yes it all fit him fine. As as said in my comments above the trousers were a really good fit for my ds who is tall with slim waist. I have over time looked and tried school trousers from several other shops but have yet to find any that fit my son's shape anywhere near as well as the ASDA ones. Also I chose the elasticated waist trousers because my son has difficuties with buttons/zips/fastening thing and these are great for him. I have found that the elasicated all round the waist type trousers are difficult to find elsewhere in his size.

Q3 What did your child think of their new uniform?

Trousers and polo shirt were put on without comment so I suppose he thinks same as any other uniform. I have already commented about his thoughts on the jumper above. He did not want to wear it due to the general trend at his school being to have logo jumpers. However he has taken it to use for outside PE leasons and wears it along with his tracksuit bottoms.

Q4 How do you feel the uniform is bearing up to washing?

Trousers wash really well and dry very quickly too. They have not lost shape at all.

Polo shirt I think has shrunk a bit but still fits ok, has gone from being generous size for him to just fitting with no room for growth. Think this would maybe make me consider buying a size bigger to allow for the shrinkage. (His polo shirts are subjected to regular washing with as potent a stain remover I can find due to him being mucky and the shirts being white.) The collar area has lost it's shape.

The jumper has washed fine although I will mention that it has only been washed once because it is used infrequently at outdoor PE.

Q5 How do you feel the uniform is bearing up to being worn? How would you rate the quality?

Trousers very well, not gone through the knees yet! Quality of fabric seems good to me. Shape is good.
Jumper bearing up fine but like I said infrequent use here. Quality I would rate as significantly lower than school ones (a lot thinner) but then school ones are more expensive.
Polo shirt bearing up perhaps better than I would expect considering what my son puts it through and the amount of cleaning required. I would rate the quality as lower than others we have had (thinner) and also, despite what the polo shirts go through here the other brands have stood up to it a bit better.

Q6 How would you rate the value for money of the uniform?

I think the value for money is very good. The trousers seem to have done as well as more expensive ones. Even though the polo shirt has not lasted quite so well it is at least half the price of others so to replace it more often would be possible.

Q7 Would you buy uniform from Asda again? Would you recommend to someone else?

Yes I would buy again. The trousers for certain. The polo shirts I prefer elsewhere but due to the price if I was in ASDA (often am, one just at the end of my road) and needed some I would happily grab some of these to be going on with rather than drive elsewhere. The jumper I would buy again but only infrequently in quantity of 1 as it would be to use for winter outdoor PE.

Would I recommend to someone else? It would depend on circumstances. If we were talking about uniforms I would tell them what I personally had found to be the pros and cons. If someone was reporting difficulty finding trousers of a good fit for a child similar shape to mine I would ask if they have tried ASDA and tell them how well they fit my son.

Q8 How would you say the Asda uniform compares to other supermarket uniforms?

The trousers fit better than Tesco's, my local Sainsburys has never had the right size in stock at right time so not sure.

The polo shirt Same problem with never being able to get from sainsburys (only small clothes section near me), I think the Tesco ones do keep their shape a bit better and feel bit thicker. My favourite ones so far are the mothercare ones but then again they cost more so even though ASDA ones could need replacing more often, value for money could be equal.

The jumper no idea because never had from anywhere but school previously. (have already commented on how they compare to school ones)
