Columnist and author Tony Parsons will be joining us here on Monday 6th October from 9-10pm for a live chat. Tony's sixth novel, 'My Favourite Wife' has just been published and is described by The Independent as 'a much bigger, more ambitious book' than million-selling 'Man and Boy'. If you can't make the chat you can post your questions in advance here.
Hope to see you here on Monday.

oh shit. I see. We really did scare him off.

Well the opinion that he takes himself a tad too serioulsy seems to be accuate then.

Justine, maybe you should specify that with everyone you ask. (ps and maybe ask someone interesting )

How about Richard Dawkins? He'd love to do MN I'm sure - he loves the ladies!

Monkeytrousers · 06/10/2008 13:07

Or Heather Mills. I think that would be very interesting - in a good way!

Or John Sim - he's just had a baby hasn;t he?

zippitippitoes · 06/10/2008 13:30

is he not coming any more?

i cant think of any questions tbh

i havent read his books or his newspaper columns

He is still coming on isn't he? I want to know who he thinks will win X-factor (he wrote about Cheryl sobbing in the Mirror so I know he watches it)

You know I suspect it was because she didn't have a good figure sadly. I mean her voice was amazing and she is pretty but a bit odd and I wouldn't be suprised if CT thought that would stand against her.

When can we have Jon Ronson on?

Monkeytrousers · 06/10/2008 13:50

Oops, I read 9-10 am instead of pm.

He can still answer my question - actually I should add another one:

Tonybabes, you don't take yourself too seriously do you??

zippitippitoes · 06/10/2008 13:51

who is jon ronson

Monkeytrousers · 06/10/2008 13:51

Who's Ron Jonson?

Dear FloFlo, re X-Factor i think Cheryl will be the big winner - I like the young Irish kid with spiky blonde hair and the girl the who lost her mum from breast cancer when she was a kid - and I like - the older woman with the Aretha Franklin voice is my favourite, but maybe they someone younger...I don't know. There's no obvious figure this year, is there? But I am glad we cleared this up. Thanks for your question, FloFlo.

Monkeytrousers · 06/10/2008 13:56

Tony, just listening to the Jeremy Vine show - what's your opinion on the rise of this kind of misanthropic 'entertainment' .

I hate it but I'm not a misanthrope, contrary to what some on here would tell you (don't listen to them!)

Oh, and is The Late Show still on?

Monkeytrousers · 06/10/2008 13:57

That's not Tony Parsons. It can't be. His name has been taken on MN.

reluctantincubator · 06/10/2008 13:57

JOn Ronson - wrote a book called the men who stare at goats. He used to write for Time Out and then he wrote in The Guardian saturday colour supplement thingy (quite funny actually) - his riff on bottling out of telling his son what the worst swear world in the world was (he said it was "limone") was most entertaining.

Tony, how much did you pay for Radiohead's In Rainbows??

MrPinkerton · 06/10/2008 13:58

This is a funny old welcome for TP isn't it. I read his book once on a train. I thought it was vaire good.

Fio her name is Hannah and I can't believe she didn't get through to finals. I liked her 'look' anyway.

Monkeytrousers · 06/10/2008 14:01

I bet he could give himself lovebites with those veneers

zippitippitoes · 06/10/2008 14:04

i am always wanting to ask on mn whether people give lovebites
