Hi everyone,

We're delighted that Dawn French will be joining us for a webchat about her new novel, Oh Dear Silvia, on Wednesday 24 October from 1.30pm to 2.30pm. You can see Dawn talking about the book in .

Dawn will be launching Oh Dear Silvia, which is published by Michael Joseph, at an exclusive event at The Criterion Theatre, Piccadilly, on Friday 26 October, where she will be interviewed by Sue Perkins. Tickets cost £15 and include a signed copy of the book. You can buy tickets here or on 0844 847 1778 and very excitingly, we have a pair of tickets to give away.

Anyone who posts a question on this thread for Dawn (either during the live webchat itself or in advance) will be entered into a draw to win a pair of tickets to the event, so do join Dawn for a chat on Wednesday or post a question for her in advance here.

Thanks

MNHQ

Ha! Thanks for answering and for giving a happy ending to my lame celebrity-spotting story.
Keep pushing on with those new characters, please.

Loving all this chat about hair, bums, kissing and cock, but just wondering if anybody's heard that my book is out tomorrow! Only took me 18 months to write. Interested?

Sparklingbrook · 24/10/2012 14:17

Dawn you really don't want to know about the bumsex threads. I know far more about bumsex than I ever needed/wanted to know now. Sad

DawnFrench · 24/10/2012 14:19

@NotShortImFunSized

Hi Dawn,

I loved Dear Fatty and cannot wait to buy the newest addition. Do you have plans for anymore novels after this one?

This (Oh Dear Silvia) is my second novel and I am commissioned to write two more in the next five years. I'm writing them as we speak between posts.

NormaStanleyFletcher · 24/10/2012 14:19

I am going to add your book to my Christmas list

(DH will be in Afghanistan then though - wonder if 13 year old DS can manage my list for me when rellies ring up to find out what I want)

TanteRose · 24/10/2012 14:19

YES! loved A Tiny Bit Marv, so will download your new one onto my Kindle tomorrow WITHOUT FAIL

mouldyironingboard · 24/10/2012 14:19

I'm really looking forward to reading your new book. How did you get the idea about writing about a woman in a coma?

Hotcoffeeisamemory · 24/10/2012 14:20

Oh and Dawn, don't google dragon butter.

Just don't. It isn't something you'd put on your toast. Believe me. {bleaches eyes}

NorksAreMessy · 24/10/2012 14:20

Dear Ms French

there is a rumour that you have a book out tomorrow.
Is there anything we can say to persuade you to talk about it?

TanteRose · 24/10/2012 14:21

It is out on Kindle, isn't it?
I don't do real books anymore...no space left in my flat

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 24/10/2012 14:21

Dawn, Ive just found this chat, and this may have been asked already, but... do you Mumsnet?

LineRunner · 24/10/2012 14:21

Dawn, You break yourself in gently with the Drunk Thread, and then open yourself up gradually to the world of 'Centre Parcs'.

recall · 24/10/2012 14:21

Dawn do you remember filming South Atlantic raiders for the Comic Strip ? My husband was an extra in it and he said were lovely in real life, and that you walked in when he and his mates were changing and had a cheeky look !! (don't expect you to remember that bit ! )

Jenski · 24/10/2012 14:21

Hi Dawn
I moved to Plymouth 5 years ago. Do you still visit? Which area were you from (just being nosey really!!!)
Oh, also listened to you at daughter's bedtime reading Kipper's Toy Box the other night Smile

DianeEGS · 24/10/2012 14:21

How come you're reading it when it doesn't come out til tomorrow? Are you reading the last one (A Tiny Bit Marvellous)? Also would be very happy if that were true.

NotShortImFunSized · 24/10/2012 14:22

Grin yay, can't wait. Good luck with writing the new ones although I'm sure you don't need it!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 24/10/2012 14:22

Campari · 24/10/2012 14:22

Hello Dawn!

I would like to know if you've ever been asked to go on Desert Island Discs, because I think a lot of people would be interested to hear your song choices and luxury book/item. Would you like to do it?

Thankyou Smile

DawnFrench · 24/10/2012 14:22
