Hi everyone,

We're delighted that Dawn French will be joining us for a webchat about her new novel, Oh Dear Silvia, on Wednesday 24 October from 1.30pm to 2.30pm. You can see Dawn talking about the book in .

Dawn will be launching Oh Dear Silvia, which is published by Michael Joseph, at an exclusive event at The Criterion Theatre, Piccadilly, on Friday 26 October, where she will be interviewed by Sue Perkins. Tickets cost £15 and include a signed copy of the book. You can buy tickets here or on 0844 847 1778 and very excitingly, we have a pair of tickets to give away.

Anyone who posts a question on this thread for Dawn (either during the live webchat itself or in advance) will be entered into a draw to win a pair of tickets to the event, so do join Dawn for a chat on Wednesday or post a question for her in advance here.

Thanks

MNHQ

@bbface

Also desperate to know the secret to your gorgeous hair!

My question is who do you find funny?

Glad the hair is the first question! Got our priorities right. There's no secret, just have parents with good hair and strong set of straighteners. I have the burn scars to prove it.

Fatty Saunders is quite funny, but I prefer the other one. Love Cathy Burke, love Catherine Tate, love Liza Tarbuck, Sarah Millican, Josie Long and most of all loved Eric Morcambe.

Gawd - not sure you should expect webby abuse here!

Is it possible to die from an overdose of being fawned over? If so you should be worried

Hello, hello, hello! Very excited. Hope they're feeding you nice biscuits over in MNHQ. That's a statement, not a question as I've already posed a question and don't want to be accused of breaking the chat rules :o

@MmeLindor

Hello Dawn,

If you could go back and give your 14 year old self some advice, what would it be?

I would say stop worrying about boys and not being able to get trousers to fit. There are more important things in life. Like chocolate.

NOT a question but I am in a 'sod it' mood so thought I'd share anyway...
My little girl woke up in the night upset a few weeks ago and came to sit with me in front of the telly.
The Oh so famous puddle scene appeared and tears very quickly turned to laughter!

You didn't mention Miranda!! She speaks highly of you, insisted you were invited you to the imaginary dinner party of a mnetter.

:o
I think I need that advice for myself and I'm only just a little over 14 now. Ahem.

Makes mental note to get some chocolate on school run - cadbury's twist methinks...

@twolittlebundles

Hi Dawn- you are AWESOME and a legend in our house. Can you please update on your recent results in the frankly heroic search for great kissers? I won't be here for the actual chat (other side of the world) but would love to live vicariously through you hear about it!

Sadly have to report that celebrity kissing has dried up a bit. Can I just remind you of the old list, which includes: George Clooney, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Hugh Laurie, Hugh Grant and Boyzone. Best of all though, weirdly, was Jamie Theakston. Tip top lips!

@5ThingsUnderTheBed

Hi Dawn, I think you're fab!

My question, you did a lot of spoofs with Jennifer, what was your favourite one?

Really hard to answer that because enjoyed so many. Probably Star Wars. No, misery. No, Mama Mia. No, What Ever Happened to Baby Dawn. Oh, I don't know! You choose!
