Hi everyone,

We're delighted that Dawn French will be joining us for a webchat about her new novel, Oh Dear Silvia, on Wednesday 24 October from 1.30pm to 2.30pm. You can see Dawn talking about the book in .

Dawn will be launching Oh Dear Silvia, which is published by Michael Joseph, at an exclusive event at The Criterion Theatre, Piccadilly, on Friday 26 October, where she will be interviewed by Sue Perkins. Tickets cost £15 and include a signed copy of the book. You can buy tickets here or on 0844 847 1778 and very excitingly, we have a pair of tickets to give away.

Anyone who posts a question on this thread for Dawn (either during the live webchat itself or in advance) will be entered into a draw to win a pair of tickets to the event, so do join Dawn for a chat on Wednesday or post a question for her in advance here.

Thanks

MNHQ

Hi Dawn

I met Lenny in Brighton once, years ago. He sat next to me on a bench on the seafront. He told me he would never stay in a Premier Inn. He is huge!

Hi Dawn- you are AWESOME and a legend in our house. Can you please update on your recent results in the frankly heroic search for great kissers? I won't be here for the actual chat (other side of the world) but would love to live vicariously through you hear about it!

Hi Dawn, you obviously have a great outlook on life and are a positive role model to many. What one thing/person/memory keeps you so positively minded and stops you reaching for the gin in a crisis?

Hi Dawn - how does it feel to have a base back in the south west?

(I was originally from Devon as well, moved away for a number of years, am now back and know I'll never move away from here again. It's surprised me how much of a difference it has made moving home).

Hi Dawn,
I think you are completely wonderful and jolly pretty too . I Imagine I will be tucked up in bed when you go live (being the middle of the night here and having a full day cutting, sticking , glittering, confiscating Pokemon cards and generally being an old dragon ahead of me - can you guess my job?!). I loved Dear Fatty but really want to know what the story is with Keith Allen. Go on, spill the beans.

Hi Dawn

We properly luffs you in the Boo house, I also love your books very much and really look forward to reading this new one.

My question is also snogging related, I think I heard somewhere that if you have a really hot co star (Johnny Depp, Richard Armetage etc) you like to make sure you have a snogging scene with them (sorry if I am wrong, preggo brain, if I am right, then you go girl, I would if I could), who is next on your snogging list, and of those you have snogged, who would you recommend??

Welcome back Dawn and well done on your amazing weight loss! What advice would you give to someone wanting to lose weight but lacking the determination to actually do it? And how do you keep it off?

Hi Dawn French!

Are you looking forward to Christmas? Here on Mumsnet there are a lot of people who are very determined to make Christmassy traditions (me included!)

Do you have a favourite Christmas tradition that makes you feel all warm and happy inside? (Mulled wine is very good at that I find Grin)

Hi Dawn

Thank you for designing such fabulously flattering clothes. Your range saved me from despairing at the state of my wardrobe when I gained some weight!

I'd love to know what you'd do on your perfect afternoon off from work?

I'm sure whatever you say will only convince me further we'd be great friends if we met Grin

Ps. I also have hair envy... Have you ever attempted a fringe trim with the kitchen scissors? I tried it once to startling effect.

Hi Dawn.... another weight question ( do I sense a yawn?). Now that you look so fabulous, are you been treated differently? are you no longer 'national treasure' territory and more femme fatale?

I've never done a webchat before, but I couldn't miss this one. In case of a babyscreaminghissyfit, I'll put a question in now:

Dawn, is there one single joke, pun, rhyme, etc (written by you or otherwise) that makes you almost wee with laughter?
