Questions for David Cameron

mumsnet · 23/02/2006 08:19

We know what he thinks about education, the economy and Europe, but what about the really important stuff? Like how many nappies, exactly, has he changed in the last two weeks? And does young Arthur favour a three-in-one travel system, or a rugged off-roader? You can find out the answers to these and other pressing questions (and tell him what you think of all that tummy-patting) next Monday lunchtime when David Cameron visits Mumsnet to give his first interview since the birth of his third child. David will be online from 12.45pm. You can post advance questions for him here.

where are you looking at the questions - I've just come (had Jeremy on in the car)

please

FairyMum · 27/02/2006 13:57

I don't really understand any more of what his policies are about from reading his answers. He is so vague, isn't he? He doesn't seem to have any strong beliefs or conviction, and he seems scared of being controversial.

meowmix · 27/02/2006 13:58

is that IT? what was the point of that?

willow2 · 27/02/2006 13:58

I don't understand why it took him eight minutes to post to say goodbye... but there's his email address for Cod.

Dear Sophable...

Rach44 · 27/02/2006 13:58

Put her to shame in the nicest way possible, of course, I was being ironic. Now he's gone, and I never did find out what I wanted to know.

zippitippitoes · 27/02/2006 13:58

so will you be emailing him your unanswered questions..how many did he actually answer?

sparklymieow · 27/02/2006 13:58

my question didn't even make it on the thread :( sob... sulk..

ruty · 27/02/2006 13:59

very vague, and very disappointing. Didn't get a sense of his personality or convictions at all. Will not be voting for him. Or Blair. Now where does that leave me?

FrannytheBarkSucker · 27/02/2006 13:59

What was your question Spider, I missed that one. I also liked Twiglett's question. :)

CountessDracula · 27/02/2006 13:59

ruty · 27/02/2006 13:59

Debbiethemum · 27/02/2006 14:00

Ner Ner to Sparklymieow Grin

MissChief · 27/02/2006 14:01

1 of my qus (saddo, had a couple) made it on the thread but wasn't answered, directly anyway..what was the point of putting it up if it was to be ignored?? it was on home-birth btw..

uwila · 27/02/2006 14:03

I e0mailed David Cameron once (about a month ago) regarding the cost of living / morgages for first time buysers, etc. and I got a reply from one of his aides. I didn't really mind that an aid replied, but even he didn't really answer my question. Gave me a link to a topic on the website that was vaguely related but not really the answer I was looking for.

I dah high hopes for today. But, I'm a bit disappointed. The system seemed really slow. Were there technical problems?

Kathy1972 · 27/02/2006 14:11

The only things he really seemed coherent and well-informed on were personal stuff and SEN, which is, er, personal for his family....
Was impressed at first that he was prepared to be open about the MMR, which Blair never did, but then, when Blair was refusing to say, it was the very height of the controversy and he could have got into massive trouble if he'd gone the wrong way, whereas it's pretty much agreed now that it's safe so it's easy for Cameron to say his kids had it....
Nope, won't be voting for him.
Anyway he has never given reason for us to think that he actually gives a s--- about people less fortunate than his Etonian self. Which maybe he does, but I'm yet to be convinced.

MissChief · 27/02/2006 14:13

hmm - I live nr Eton and made slight reference to this in my Q on education..Surprise, surprise wasn't posted up let alone answered..A true politician..

magicfarawaytree · 27/02/2006 14:23

I would like to know what his party plan to do for people like me who are completely disillusioned with all the Parties. We feel like we are part of a sizeable chuck of voters who are the bank of middle england. Parties come for the tax and in return nothing, nada, rien du toute, zilch.

For example

  • we work hard invested our capital in our home, (hardly surprising given the alarming performance of many pension funds of late) - for this we get taxed to death by community charge - I would like to thank someone for an above inflation rise and a below par service.

We have to plau education lottery for a decent school. Instead of being able to expect decent education in all areas we are left to scramble for places in other areas where there are decent schools therefore exacerbating the problem.

-If I want a dentist I have to wait 2 months for an appointment.

  • We can only see a doctor within 4/5 days if it is an emmergency. get decent schooling.
  • If we need treatment.... dont even get me started.

-If our children want to go to university we have to take out a 2nd mortgage.

-There is no public transport system the buses a joke, the trains are a fiasco.

-When does our government start taking its global warming issues seriously.

-And as a victim of a burglary - dont get me started on the criminal justice system.

I dont expect an answer to each question, the examples are just examples of many of our issues with our current choice of parties.

NappiesGalore · 27/02/2006 14:32
