How do I remove sinister Santa outfit from a cactus?

My lovely sister got this little darling thing for my teenage son for Christmas. He loves it, as do I. However having gone way past 12th night we would now like to update his wardrobe/allow him to go 'au natural'.

Also he looks quite menacing and the other plants are a bit scared.

I've tried gently pulling the hat, no joy. I've tried tweezers on the grumpy eyes, I ended up with my other hand covered in prickles.

It is not glued on or secured by any other method I can see. Does anyone have any intimate knowledge on how to disrobe a festive novelty cactus?

Thanking you in advance.

I've canvassed some friends. Absolutely nobody is willing to do this with me. It's like they've had enough of my nonsense or something 😀

How about an exorcist? Is there one local to you? It's a shame that BT no longer do the Yellow Pages for this kind of thing but Checkatrade might.

We have a spooky ruined Priory? I bet if there's any Rent-a-Ghost types they'll be over there.

Yellow pages would have been handy for wrapping angry Santa...

So I winkled the back of the hat off. Then had to stop because I laughed so much that I had to sit down for a bit. THEN I discovered that the eyes are somehow connected to the hat.

This is now an entirely different conundrum. I have to do a hat-ectomy whilst trying not to laugh at his stupid attempts at growing. * *

He's just showing how much he likes you. (I'm guessing that that yellow thing growing perpendicular to the hat is Mr AngryGreasedSanta's - ahem - appendage and not part of another plant.)

Princessconsuelabananahammock9 · 15/04/2023 18:04

He really is a bad Santa..
I refuse to kink shame him

Cocktail sticks! Not for any practical help, but to spear olives and keep up your strength whilst wrestling off the unseasonable garments. Then stick the feathers from the hat around him (because he’s obviously a First Nation plant)

It looks like a bonnet now GrinGrinGrin

Can't help with the hunt for a tiny pirate hat but Wish sells motorcycle helmets for chickens which incidentally are also the perfect size for Barbies.

I'm not entirely convinced by that photo. 😁

YesitsBess · 15/04/2023 21:20

He needs a * *motorcycle hat.

Have been off watching the finale of Baby Driver but am now back and armed with newspaper restraints and nail clippers.

What could go wrong?

Now...everyone has to promise not to laugh because this is the first time he has had his hat off and he is shy...

Is this NSFW?

YesitsBess · 15/04/2023 21:53

I'm just not sure what to do now. What do I do?

He looks...ridiculous without his titfer.

I CAN'T! LOOK AT HIS EFFORTS!

Is that a euphanism?

potatowhale · 15/04/2023 22:01

Perhaps a wig or a hair scarf?

YesitsBess · 15/04/2023 22:03

I'm inclined to expose him to the sun so he can grow upwards as opposed to bollockwards.

He needs a see-thru hat.

If you gave him a body he could be an owl.

So much to unpack here.

Does he share a barber with Boris Johnson?

AbbaG12 · 15/04/2023 22:27

He's perfect

Pixiedust1234 · 15/04/2023 22:28

I agree. He looks more like an owl rather than a grumpy, eyebrow shaving, maniac.

potatowhale · 15/04/2023 22:30

Maybe a sarrong to stop him growing girth at the bottom?

FelicityBeedle · 15/04/2023 22:32

I am genuinely amazed at how many experienced cactus undressers there are on mumsnet. Nice job!
now you need a chicken helmet, pirate hat, I rain hat and probably a sun hat
