Help me place this actor??
859

SchrodingersMouse · 28/10/2021 19:21

I saw him on a train. Can’t for the life of me remember who he is.

He’s a British tv actor, probably in his 50s or early 60s. Grey hair, used to be blonde. Piercing blue eyes. Often plays a hero/ love interest type role.

a bit like Greg wise but shorter!

I feel sure he was in a Sunday night drama or a soap or something but I can’t find him online! It’s driving me mad!

Long shot
Ben Daniels?

I would LOVE to see him IRL.

I was trying to think of Ben Daniels and kept only getting Jason Isaacs!

@Ducksurprise

Marti Pellow (not actor but has piercing blue eyes iirc)

On that basis I might suggest Dame Judy Dench. Not an man but does have blue eyes and least is an actor.

Or was it Max Farnham also a character in Brookside?

Robert Bathurst?

He was my guess because I spent ages staring at him in The Larkins trying to think
who he was before realising he was Sir Anthony Strallen in Downton.

I had to cave and look up where I knew the one playing Alec Norman from — it was My Parents Are Aliens, years ago!

Jason Issacs def a better match for description.

Also I think Ben D is maybe teetotal, not sure.

Gah, I’m so sorry I brought you all in on this

He is very rugged looking, tousled kind of hair. The actor who played max Farnham looks v similar but it’s not him.

He’s trim and short - about 5 foot 5 I’d say

No help but I had this same dilemma with Derek Jacobi on a train once.

Texting everyone I knew. “British. Period drama. No, I think I can see him in a toga. No, white haired” sort of thing until we got there.

I have definitely seen him on a publicity poster, arms folder, looking powerful, with the Yorkshire dales (or similar) behind him. Which is why you spent so long looking at emmerdale and Corrie. But I can’t find him there (I’ve never been a regular watcher of either so it’s possible I didn’t go far enough back)

For some reason, the toga thing has me howling with laughter 😂😂😂
