I am 50% of the way through chemo. (second time around)(different primary)

My DS (18) has just been diagnosed with depression I think me being diagnosed again was the tipping point.

Due to above I am having to delegate Christmas, it will get done, it did before just not my way.

DH retiring in three years, should be more than enough to live on, but at the moment I am worrying (Like I couldn't worry about that closer to the time) Hmm

Sausage rolls, my job, ditto mince pies.........if they don't happen my DH and my DS will suck it up. Just me worrying.

DS struggling in college and have to go to a meeting on Wednesday

So if some of the night shift would like to come and mind my ,worries whilst I attempt to sleep, it would be gratefully received.

Feel free to add your own, just writing that down has helped.

@85notout bereavement must be a bit of a rollercoaster. Catching you at odd times with different feelings. It’s unfathomable, that someone has gone. Bewildering. I’m not a big swearer on mumsnet but your feisty post in response go baked potato made me smile too today!

I can send your worries to fuckety fuck if it helps too?! Flowers

85notout · 14/02/2020 09:47

I'm sometimes a sweary person, today more than usual.
I'm laughing at your message so that's a bonus.
Yeah, it's a roller coaster of anything from sad to happy to disbelief to anger. I've not experienced it before and it's so strange.

Bakedpotatoandgin · 14/02/2020 11:48

Thanks for the encouraging words, it actually went fine and I'm so glad it's over. 85 you made me laugh, I hope you can find some relief in a confusing time

girlofthenorth · 16/02/2020 13:11

Hello just checking in after an absence- I've been sleeping well as DH has been in spare room as he has an awful cold and I wake him up in the night because I'm awake ..... we wake each other up!
I'm here to take care of any worries for the day --- they can come on a very soggy dog walk .....

NumbersStation · 16/02/2020 13:15

So lovely that you at managing to sleep, even with a snottery DH Smile - banishing isn’t always a bad thing!

Enjoy your blustery and soggy walk Smile

Bakedpotatoandgin · 16/02/2020 21:36

I'm here to take away any worries tonight, they can help me procrastinate until ridiculously late at night then be forced to do some work for me

HannaYeah · 16/02/2020 22:05

@bakedpotatoandgin

I have a biggy. Please could you take it? Whole thing makes me nauseated but not a thing I can do.

Bakedpotatoandgin · 16/02/2020 22:07

I've got it Hanna. I'll sit on it for you

HannaYeah · 16/02/2020 22:08

Thanks @bakedpotatoandgin.

That means so much right now.

NumbersStation · 16/02/2020 22:09

I’m happy to share the load with @Bakedpotatoandgin if you are ok with that @HannaYeah

Sorry that things aren’t great but hopefully we can aid sleep and get rid of the nausea. Sad

All worries squashed under me and a big old quilt. Tanning the Baileys so I won’t even fidget in the night. Promise.

HannaYeah · 16/02/2020 22:11

@numbersstation absolutely. Much appreciated.

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 17/02/2020 00:06

I’m also here to take care of any worries.
The wind is howling here so I’ve got a feeling I won’t be sleeping tonight, they can snuggle under the covers and keep me company.

HannaYeah · 18/02/2020 03:54

Ok, from bad to worse here. I haven’t dropped my basket though and that’s largely because of you lot.

I’m leaving tonight’s very big worries right here. Whomever comes along can take as much or as little as they like.

Flowers for all who visit this thread, to pick up, drop off or just read along.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 18/02/2020 04:37

I'm here@HannaYeah. You can leave it all here with me. I'm well rested after three day weekend so am more than up for calming even a biggie.

I hope you can sleep now. Cozy in. Close your eyes. That's it. Shhhh.

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 18/02/2020 22:52

I’m here for the night watch, along with my furry fiend. Pass those worries over and then snuggle yourself down and get some sleep.

plominoagain · 19/02/2020 00:58

I’m here too , with Madame La Spot , who has decided that as I am ill , she must not leave me unsupervised at any time . So even though I’m sitting reading , she wants to join in too . If your worries want to tuck themselves in for a bedtime story , they’re more than welcome .

Rest easy x

I’ve got sadness tonight. I lost a precious loved one today. Tomorrow is going to be hard.

Thank you all for taking all the recent worries off my plate. It has helped so much. All recent ones were for this family member. It’s so strange to realize I don’t have to worry anymore (or ask you all to worry) for him.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 19/02/2020 03:19

Oh @HannahYeah sorry to hear your sad news. A precious loved one is a hard loss.

Tonight I shall hold some of your sadness, if you'd like. I shall hold it tenderly, as it is filled with love ❤️

bettybattenburg · 19/02/2020 04:43

Hanna, I get you exactly, I'm in the same boat but a week on.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 19/02/2020 05:03

@bettybattenburg so sorry to hear you are also bereft. There is no limit to the size of grief.

I can only offer to hold a small part of your sadness, along with Hannah's. It would be safe with me. I'm very intimately acquainted with grief ❤️

HannaYeah · 19/02/2020 05:12

@bettybattenburg I’m so sorry for your sadness and loss. I’d say more but nothing I write seems to make sense tonight.

@2018SoFarSoGreat Thank you so much. It really helps.
