I am 50% of the way through chemo. (second time around)(different primary)

My DS (18) has just been diagnosed with depression I think me being diagnosed again was the tipping point.

Due to above I am having to delegate Christmas, it will get done, it did before just not my way.

DH retiring in three years, should be more than enough to live on, but at the moment I am worrying (Like I couldn't worry about that closer to the time) Hmm

Sausage rolls, my job, ditto mince pies.........if they don't happen my DH and my DS will suck it up. Just me worrying.

DS struggling in college and have to go to a meeting on Wednesday

So if some of the night shift would like to come and mind my ,worries whilst I attempt to sleep, it would be gratefully received.

Feel free to add your own, just writing that down has helped.

I’ve been lurking and reading the cancer thread since around 1am as woke with worry about my hospital appointment later this week for numerous lumps in my breasts. I haven’t been worried and was in a place of “what will be, will be”... until tonight where I’ve over thinked and catastrophised the outcome Sad

Coupled with worry about my MIL who’s recently been dx with breast cancer and supporting her, and my DH, and a friends DV situation plus other stuff not for a public forum, I’ve not slept tonight and still awake 4 hours after waking up.

Sorry to others who are worrying. What a beautiful thread Flowers

Skidzer · 19/12/2019 05:12

@Whichbin - let me take your worries for a few hours so you can sleep.

TheClausSeason · 19/12/2019 05:25

I'm up, so if anyone has any worries they'd like me to watch, let me know.

WhichBin · 19/12/2019 05:32

@Skidzer thank you

I don’t know if going to sleep now when the alarm is due to go off in 44 minutes is a good idea Confused I may get up and have a brew and chill downstairs. There’s something about worrying in the dark, always feels 100x worse!

Skidzer · 19/12/2019 05:37

Well, while you're up there making a cuppa........ lol. Joking.
A little 10 minutes just resting your eyes. Believe me, I'll hand your worries back!

Cantchooseaname · 19/12/2019 05:41

Got mundane stuff in today, happy to hold some worries. I function best with something to fret about (not the big stuff that you guys face), but something has to be a worry, so If you don’t mind sharing I would be very grateful.

Mallowmarshmallow · 19/12/2019 06:53

@anxioussue gallstones was the first thing the dr mentioned, and my DM has had them which I gather makes that more likely but I still have to wait the month for further investigation.

Thanks you lovely people for minding my worries, I did manage a few hours sleep thanks to you all.

KTD27 · 19/12/2019 13:37

I’m sorry to ask again but he’s just gone into surgery finally. I have 4 long hours possibly longer in front of me. Can you watch with me?

SproutinducingFarti · 19/12/2019 13:48

KTD, here and thinking of you and your gorgeous little boy!

TheClausSeason · 19/12/2019 13:56

NaomiFromMilkShake · 19/12/2019 13:57

Handhold here. Let us know how it goes.

Iamreallyunsure · 19/12/2019 14:18

@KTD27 Another handhold here. Taking them to theatre is so so hard Thanks

8MinutesToSunrise · 19/12/2019 14:48

The kindness on this thread has allowed me to feel my worries and have a little cry.

@KTD another handhold for you, anything we can do to make the next few hours go a little quicker for you?

2018SoFarSoGreat · 19/12/2019 14:49

@KTD27 I'm up and ready to wait with you. I can't imagine how scared you are, but we are here with you. Lean on us.

KTD27 · 19/12/2019 15:04

Thank you everyone. You’re so so so lovely. They’ve updated us and he’s stable so so far so good.

MrsTerryPratchett · 19/12/2019 15:15

So glad to hear that @KTD27

We're all here.

IM0GEN · 19/12/2019 15:33

@KTD27 holding your little one in my thoughts and prayers.

Wishing peace and some sleep for you and the others posters here.

KTD27 · 19/12/2019 16:48

He’s out! He’s in recovery and he’s ok. Surgeons are happy and we are thrilled. Thank you everyone. I’ll be up tonight on euphoria for a while so I can take your worries instead of you holding mine. Flowers

2018SoFarSoGreat · 19/12/2019 17:34

@KTD27 that is the BEST news. I'm so, so very delighted for you all. Bless the surgeons, and the staff - they are miracle workers in our midst.

Will raise a glass to you and your little guy tonight. Right now I"m cheering with my coffee cup :)

DramaAlpaca · 19/12/2019 17:43

Great news! All the best for his recovery now.

dappledsunshine · 19/12/2019 17:57

Fantastic news!

FinallyHere · 19/12/2019 18:15

Great news @KTD27 and thank you for posting

I've had a good day and am now on my way out to party and and happy to scoop up any worries that need a bit of a bop and maybe tire them out.

So good to be above to give as well as receive help. Getting stuck doing one or the other is very wearing. I'll check back in later

Bloodybridget · 19/12/2019 18:29

So pleased to see your news KTD!

Pepperama · 19/12/2019 18:41

I’m also here to look after a few worries whilst cooking dinner and doing bedtime
