It is one o clock in the morning, I need the night shift to mind my worries whilst I sleep....

I am 50% of the way through chemo. (second time around)(different primary)

My DS (18) has just been diagnosed with depression I think me being diagnosed again was the tipping point.

Due to above I am having to delegate Christmas, it will get done, it did before just not my way.

DH retiring in three years, should be more than enough to live on, but at the moment I am worrying (Like I couldn't worry about that closer to the time) Hmm

Sausage rolls, my job, ditto mince pies.........if they don't happen my DH and my DS will suck it up. Just me worrying.

DS struggling in college and have to go to a meeting on Wednesday

So if some of the night shift would like to come and mind my ,worries whilst I attempt to sleep, it would be gratefully received.

Feel free to add your own, just writing that down has helped.

Im here too 😔 cannot sleep properly almost 3 weeks even tho my little ones are finally asleep im still awake and my brain don’t stop working! So many problems plus the nightmares 😔😔😔 i wish all problems just go away

NumbersStation · 08/01/2020 05:59

Brig93

I’ve been sat on your worries for a little while now but wasn’t able to post as work got in the way.

I wish I could take your nightmares from you but I do sometimes think that it is the brain trying to sort things out while you sleep - trying to process the worst of happenings for you so that you don’t think of them while you are awake.

Waking up in a panic, heart racing isn’t the best thing for soothing someone though. Not when you have other worries too.

I hope you managed to drop off and I will sit on your worries for you (I’m hefty) meantime.

Sleep soundly Flowers

BuddhaAtSea · 08/01/2020 06:01

About to walk the mop, I’ll take care of your worries Brew

2018SoFarSoGreat · 08/01/2020 06:04

@Brig93 let me just hold onto these worries for a few hours. You just need to cozy in and forget about everything. That's it. Let it all go.

NumbersStation · 08/01/2020 06:04

What a lovely companion you have @HoofWankingSpangleCunt

Velcro dog has such a wise and intent beautiful little face Smile 💖

Your worries are safe with me today and tonight (after their cab trip) - being a bit hefty is a good thing sometimes Smile

Think of you all Flowers x

Thinking of you all. x

MrsTerryPratchett · 08/01/2020 06:16

I love this place.

Could someone mind my parents getting older, please?

NumbersStation · 08/01/2020 06:42

I’m still at work so can happily mind that worry for you @MrsTerryPratchett

I know this worry well. If you are away to sleep, rest easy. If you are wakened for the day, may you walk a bit lighter. Flowers

girlofthenorth · 08/01/2020 16:30

Thank you to all who helped me sleep the other night - sleep slowly getting better.. happy to take some for eve ? They can snuggle with me for a late afternoon nap as long as they behave

HannaYeah · 08/01/2020 16:36

I’ll worry about your parents aging, too @MrsTerryPratchett. I’m getting good with that because I’ve got mine plus many loved ones that are in 80s and 90s.

schoolcats · 08/01/2020 17:13

@MrsTerryPratchett seeing as you have such a great user name your worries re parents can tuck up with mine re parents. They'll have to sit in my pocket at parents evening tonight though.

Best thread on Mumsnet by a country mile.

Suffer from terrible anxiety which often wakens me in the wee small hours. ''Tis definitely the loneliest point in the day for me. This thread is nothing short of wonderful & has had me in tears more than once.

What good souls you are, all you guardians of worry. God bless every single one of you. ❤️

I'm hoping to check in at bedtime & look after some worries for those of you that may need to rest/sleep. I'm quite good company so your worries will be looked after for a wee while. I'll just sit with them...

maldivemoment · 08/01/2020 19:24

I'm just about to sit down & do a pile of marking. Sitting at our dining room table. Just me - family in various rooms doing other stuff. 5 empty chairs if anyone wants to leave their worries here for a while...

2018SoFarSoGreat · 08/01/2020 19:54

@maldivemoment I swear I was about to post that I was sat at my dining table with 5 extra chairs to fill with worries. Big, fat, small, skinny, old, young. These worries had better mind their manners or there will be no pudding for them!

2018SoFarSoGreat · 08/01/2020 20:01

In the spirit of truth in adverising (:)) I should say I am sitting here working. I am an eater, not a feeder, so the worries had better just hope DH is in a good mood when the time to eat is finally here, and presents all of us with something edible. Of course, one of those pesky worries will have to pull up a stool once DH is ready to sit down.

Nameisthegame · 08/01/2020 22:19

My dd 2 years will have to go to sleep tonight without breastfeeding for the first time as I had my tooth pulled tonight by the dentist ouch 🤕 it’s going to be a difficult night and she’s got a cold to boot

TidaQuel · 08/01/2020 22:21

Thanks for all the worry keeping last night. I’m
Asking for the same tonight. I’m shattered after hardly any sleep last night and could barely focus at work today. Hoping sleep will be easier tonight but my mind is already wandering and I’m getting myself worked up....

Siablue · 08/01/2020 22:29

Thank you for my worry watching last night. I did get to sleep and everything felt more manageable in the morning. Flowers

2018SoFarSoGreat · 08/01/2020 22:57

@Nameisthegame good luck tonight. Hope your little one sleeps, and that you are not bothered by that tooth. Sweet dreams to you both!

@TidaQuel go sleep. I've go your worries with me tonight, alongside NameistheGame's, so all is well. Nothing to bother you.

Curl up. Shut your eyes. Shhhhh.

NumbersStation · 08/01/2020 23:00

@TidaQuel

I’m here to sit and mind your worries. I’m sorry you didn’t get a good sleep last night - hopefully your tiredness today will make it easier to get to sleep tonight.

I am sorry to hear about your worry. I have no real words to comfort you. What could be said?

Just know that you are in my thoughts Flowers

Nameisthegame · 08/01/2020 23:02

Reading stories and going to play rain noises or something. It was a emergency appointment so caught unaware. Thinking of everyone awake tonight leave your worries here xx

maldivemoment · 09/01/2020 00:30

Off to bed now but plenty of space if anyone needs to drop off some worries...

Cosy bed, leave your worries here for a while...

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 09/01/2020 01:28

Me and the cat are also here with a nice warm and cozy bed. So leave your worries here, I’m sure the combined snoring will be like a lullaby for them.
