I am 50% of the way through chemo. (second time around)(different primary)

My DS (18) has just been diagnosed with depression I think me being diagnosed again was the tipping point.

Due to above I am having to delegate Christmas, it will get done, it did before just not my way.

DH retiring in three years, should be more than enough to live on, but at the moment I am worrying (Like I couldn't worry about that closer to the time) Hmm

Sausage rolls, my job, ditto mince pies.........if they don't happen my DH and my DS will suck it up. Just me worrying.

DS struggling in college and have to go to a meeting on Wednesday

So if some of the night shift would like to come and mind my ,worries whilst I attempt to sleep, it would be gratefully received.

Feel free to add your own, just writing that down has helped.

@girlofthenorth @YearofMisAdventure I'll mind worries about big things and sicknesses for you. Hope you both sleep well. The troublesome worries can curl up on the sofa with me and the animals. Take care of yourselves

DramaAlpaca · 30/12/2019 03:03

Usually I'm a Worry Guardian and happy to be so, but I need someone to help me out tonight please. This thread is so lovely that even if there's nobody around I'm confident I can leave my worries here and get some sleep. I don't want to say exactly what it's about... but if I can just leave it here I'm sure all will be well. Thank you x

chocatoo · 30/12/2019 03:37

DramaAlpaca leave them with me! Rest now.

bettybattenburg · 30/12/2019 04:42

What a lovely thread

MrsTerryPratchett · 30/12/2019 04:45

I'll take a couple @DramaAlpaca in case choca gets tired.

Igmum · 30/12/2019 04:55

Another Worry Guardian reporting for duty to lend a hand to choca and MrsTP. Sleep well Mumsnet

MimiCaeger · 30/12/2019 05:29

I’m crying this is so totally lovely. Love and peace to you all.
Another worry guardian, and her worry dog reporting for early duty, off for a walk around the reservoirs- should be plenty of places for chucking worries away en route!

All the love in the world

YearofMisAdventure · 30/12/2019 10:03

What a lovely thread to come back to and what a caring bunch.

It's nice to know, wherever you are, that our worries can be safe while we sleep. Flowers

Lordfrontpaw · 30/12/2019 10:05

I could worry for Team GB, always been the person people go to with their worries. I once counted 13 ‘other people’ worries and did an artwork of myself as a voodoo queen (I was at art school at the time and it made it into my final year portfolio).

Bring it on...

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 30/12/2019 10:36

Guardians assemble Smile
Signing in for worry watching duty.
I’ve got plenty of space so drop them off and pick them up whenever you’re ready to.

DramaAlpaca · 30/12/2019 14:22

Thank you so much to the overnight worry guardians. After posting, I slept soundly.

Today, all is well. My lovely DS, the cause of my worry, made it home safe and sound at some point during the night. I haven't seen him yet, but his shoes are where they should be so unless he's wandering about somewhere barefoot he's safely asleep in his room Grin

I love this thread.

girlofthenorth · 30/12/2019 15:20

Also signing in for duty whilst I run a few errands - the worries can come with me - either to keep safe or lose a few in the vets and in the post office Smile

girlofthenorth · 31/12/2019 00:24

needing to leave my worries now if someone can take -
Worrying about DH job and DDs again !!!

user764329056 · 31/12/2019 00:33

Please can I leave mine here? Am in real trouble financially and can’t find an answer

DramaAlpaca · 31/12/2019 01:25

girlofthenorth and user I had a good sleep last night so I can take on worry minding duties. Hand them over to me for tonight.

MrsTerryPratchett · 31/12/2019 06:00

I'm good to take a few money worries as well.

his shoes are where they should be

I'd be worried the body snatchers got mine if her shoes were in the right place. I don't think she actually knows where the right place is. She's her mother's daughter Grin

Oblomov20 · 31/12/2019 06:37

What a very nice thread.

I am very miserable. I am tearful a lot. My dream job turned out to be horrible, I quit, and my new job is awful.
I feel unwell a lot.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 31/12/2019 07:27

@Oblomof20 that sounds horrible. Go get some sleep. I will settle your worries between me and the cat. They shall have no choice but to be quiet.

Sleep now.

KTD27 · 31/12/2019 08:48

Oh @Oblomov20 I’m sorry. If it helps you aren’t alone my husband is going through the same thing.
Share our your worries with me. It will be ok honestly. But for right now just leave them here. My two children have woken up full of energy so they can tire them out while you rest and when you’re ready to take them back they won’t be half as troublesome.

girlofthenorth · 31/12/2019 09:25

Oblom sorry that sounds awful . My DH is also having the same , that is what I was worrying about last night! . Hope you feel better soon .
user I hope you find a way out . In the meantime I am up and ready to face the day so your worries are safe with me. @KTD27 how is your DC now ?

Oblomov20 · 31/12/2019 10:39

Thank you so much SoGreat , KT, and Girl.
You sweeties!

BadEyeBri · 31/12/2019 12:06

Just checking in on this thread makes my day easier. It's a lovely thing. Thank you all

KTD27 · 31/12/2019 13:30

@girlofthenorth he’s fine!! You’d never know he had been in hospital at all! Honestly bloody miracle workers they are at GOSH. And everywhere actually. Paed nurses are actual living angels in my opinion. Haven’t met one I didn’t want to hug immediately Grin

girlofthenorth · 31/12/2019 14:17

@KTD27 that's brilliant news- I'm really pleased!

BearWoman · 31/12/2019 14:23

What a lovely thread. I’m available to mind any worries while I potter around at home doing very little.
