I am 50% of the way through chemo. (second time around)(different primary)

My DS (18) has just been diagnosed with depression I think me being diagnosed again was the tipping point.

Due to above I am having to delegate Christmas, it will get done, it did before just not my way.

DH retiring in three years, should be more than enough to live on, but at the moment I am worrying (Like I couldn't worry about that closer to the time) Hmm

Sausage rolls, my job, ditto mince pies.........if they don't happen my DH and my DS will suck it up. Just me worrying.

DS struggling in college and have to go to a meeting on Wednesday

So if some of the night shift would like to come and mind my ,worries whilst I attempt to sleep, it would be gratefully received.

Feel free to add your own, just writing that down has helped.

Thank you DramaAlpaca

DefiniteArticle · 23/12/2019 01:43

Give me your worries while you rest, Vividgreen. I know only too well that feeling of overwhelm from having so many troubles at once. Your worries will be safe with me till the morning, when I hope everything looks a little brighter. Night all x

DramaAlpaca · 23/12/2019 01:43

Hand them over for tonight, Vivid, I can handle a few more.

Off to bed myself now, sleep well all.

KTD27 · 23/12/2019 02:31

Well my cat just woke me up throwing up a huge hair ball so I’m happy to take any worries left over @Vividgreengpies and they can help me clean up

serialnc · 23/12/2019 04:15

Thankyou @DramaAlpaca @Pepperama Thankyou both. Have managed a few hours sleep Thankyou. Going back to bed with a cuppa now. Feel like I'm able to share more but need a rest.
This thread has been absolutely brilliant to read and the kindness is absolutely overwhelming.
Thankyou

I thought I was coping well but today really hit a low.
Chemo is flattening me and my hair is coming out fast .
The girls are being wonderful and DH held me to sleep but now I am awake with a sore tummy and fine wispy hair that keeps touching me !
I will be stronger in the morning but for now please take my load.
You can’t change things for me but you can hold my worries and soothe them .
I have taken a sleeping pill and need to sleep again .
Tomorrow is another day !

Trumpton · 23/12/2019 04:53

I wrote the above at 12.30 and just awoke tip-off find I had not posted it . I feel brighter for a chunk of sleep and will try to doze again

KTD27 · 23/12/2019 05:00

Trumpton I got you. Leave them with me. I’m awake again with a post viral nightmare (thanks brain) so I can keep those thorny worries company while I fantasy online shop the mulberry store and you doze if you can. Even if you can’t you keep those worries with me and you’ll wake a little stronger in the morn’

BuddhaAtSea · 23/12/2019 05:24

Me too! Leave them here, I’ll mind them till the morning:)
I’m up with my own worries, but I found a solution I think, which for me is a sign I’m getting stronger.

KTD27 · 23/12/2019 05:28

Flowers @Buddha glad to hear it. I got space for yours too if you need.

FinallyHere · 23/12/2019 10:33

Thank you lovely people for being here. xx

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 23/12/2019 11:45

I’m back in for the rest of the day now, so if any of you lovely people want to leave your problems with me I will keep an eye on them for you.

Joyfulincolour · 23/12/2019 15:17

Me too. I’m here and ready to mind any pesky worries that are bothering you or keeping you awake overnight.

MrsTerryPratchett · 23/12/2019 17:27

I have the next few hours at work. I'll leave the worries on my desk and they will never see the light of day again if you don't want them to. If you want them back, I'll have to find them in the pile of paperwork!

Thanks to all.

HannaYeah · 23/12/2019 19:32

Yes MrsTerryPratchett if you could just lose this one made up worry for me, it would be much appreciated!

MrsTerryPratchett · 23/12/2019 19:44

Oh no Hannah. It was here a minute ago. Maybe under... nope it's gone. Sorry 😉

anxioussue · 23/12/2019 19:54

Can you lose guilt as well as worries ?

MrsTerryPratchett · 23/12/2019 19:59

Guilt is easy. Let me just shove it in this file.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 23/12/2019 21:34

@MrsTerryPratchett we must share an office! I could hide multitudes of sins, guilt, worries and other issues on my stacks of papers.

Send em on over. I shall neaten them slightly before I leave tomorrow, so that they stay in a nice neat stack until the 2nd.

Pepperama · 23/12/2019 22:06

Christmas is hard. I spend time with family I don’t see nearly enough and everyone is so keen to have a nice time but it’s just not working. And then I’ve got all night to worry why everyone is so tense and unhappy. Tiredness doesn’t make it any better but just can’t sleep. Can I leave one if you with the worries so I can be a bit more kind and patient tomorrow?

2018SoFarSoGreat · 24/12/2019 00:10

@Pepperama I've got them. You go snuggle up and get some rest.

I shall hold your worries in my lap, and soothe them with my typing. Got lots of emails to do this afternoon.

Vividgreengpies · 24/12/2019 03:59

I slept so much better last night after leaving a few of you to mind my worries. I had an early night and I'm up with the poorly baby but I'm feeling hopeful.

I'm going to mind some of your worries so you can get some sleep @Pepperama

NaomiFromMilkShake · 24/12/2019 09:57

Right today I need to do the following.

Chop and sweat an onion for some stuffing.

Make the pigs in blankets.

Six presents to wrap and then we are good to go.

So I will have loads of head space, to hold other peoples worries (I now have no hair, but plenty of head space. Grin

Oh @NaomiFromMilkShake so much hair falling here . But altho it it very fine it still looks ok so I am holding on .
Left DH with a list and popped over to MILs as I feel ok today and I haven’t seen her for a few days as I didn’t feel up to it .
Her carer arrives any minute so I can slide off !
I can hold some worries today as I intend to rest up so I have some energy for my Christmas birthday tomorrow !

Pepperama · 24/12/2019 10:38

Thank you all, it really works! After I posted I fell asleep and feel much better today.

Ready to take someone’s worries now, they can come to church later and help with the last bits of Christmas prep.
