Live CF parking thread (with diagram!)

So NC for this as not sure if neighbours are on here.

I am off today & woke up to the sound of doors banging and loud voices.

Have a glance out of bedroom window & there are 2 vans & a land rover parked on my ACTUAL drive!

Now I guess it's easily mistaken as a public car park Hmmso don't say anything immediately but once I'm up and toddler is dressed I go downstairs to see.

My next door neighbours are away on holiday. But of a weird driveway as their house has its own but it's round the back of ours and ours is at front so if you use sat nav it brings you to ours as their house is other side of our driveway ifyswim.

Diagram to show you what I mean.

Anyway they are unloading tools etc onto big sheets on my drive and walking over grass to neighbours

I said to them it was a private drive and could they move onto neighbours and they said they won't be long Angry

I was too shocked to say much more than 'no please move now'

Grrrrrrr!

So how did they get in front of your car if the gates are behind your car?

The CF workmen parked on the drive when it was empty. OP then put her own car on the drive behind theirs and locked the gates.

burblife · 07/08/2019 14:04

She should just wet her lips with sherry (oh - okay, fish a bottle full if you like OP and then refuse to get behind the wheel because of Strong Drink Reasons.
*
Also she can't find the car key because Small Boy has been playing with it,*

Drinking at midday and an unsupervised toddler?! Someone call SS Wink

itsrainingnappies · 07/08/2019 14:09

Where has OP gone? Hopefully having a nap with the toddler, I hope she's in no hurry when he actually wants to leave! Can't believe the CF is still there!

TheSerenDipitY · 07/08/2019 14:14

when he demands, yes demands because he wont ask her nicely, she needs to say "its mine now, you abandoned it, i did suggest you move it and you said wont be long love, well it was long so now its mine, all mine"

GabriellaMontez · 07/08/2019 14:16

Yes. Give some equally idiotic response back! Or yes I'll move it after my cuppa. Ie never.

Cineraria · 07/08/2019 14:16

Wind direction dependent but thought I'd let you know that our DSes are not supposed to use the bubble fluid with the food colouring in it on the front drive because daddy doesn't like driving a car with big pink.spots all over it.

QualCheckBot · 07/08/2019 14:18

Boom Yes, I do respect other people's property. I think that a generally laid back approach to life is easier. I wouldn't park on someone else's driveway but I wouldn't be bothered if next doors workman parked on mine.

Life can be really shitty at times - sweating the small stuff doesn't help (IMO).

Its not a small thing though. These guys are running a business, and doing so by using someone else's property. They are also disrespecting both her reasonable requests and her property rights.

I agree that innocent mistakes aren't worth getting worked up about, but this is a deliberate disreguard of a polite request to move from someone else's property. And that makes it pretty big, not small or insignificant.

At some point, it becomes important to stand up for yourself and not let others walk all over you.

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 07/08/2019 14:20

@itsrainingnappies the flying saucers in OPs diagram weren't just for illustrative purposes.... she's been abducted.

@Ceneraria you wonderful, wonderful person.

GreenTulips · 07/08/2019 14:28

Get anywhere with the numbers?

justilou1 · 07/08/2019 14:29

Pretty sure that those tools you threw into neighbour’s lawn might be worth a bit on eBay....

Cineraria · 07/08/2019 14:31

Do be careful if you really try it @BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil. Ours didn't stain but DH has some kind of finish on his car from the car wash and I don't know if all food colourings would be as removable. I meant it more as an activity to be explained loudly to the toddler so the driver would want to move!

User02 · 07/08/2019 14:34

What an excellent thread. I have got some great ideas for the CF workmen parked over my drive.
Hope OP gets a rest before taking on the fight with the big nasty workmen.

lovesapinot · 07/08/2019 14:41

I'm awake. God I love a daytime nap.

Toddler still asleep.

Van still there, obviously, as they can't get out now anyway.

I'll draw another pic in a min.

I'm enjoying the drawing. Weirdly.

We're enjoying the drawing too 😄

BrienneofTarthILoveYou · 07/08/2019 14:44

Well done Op!

Sunandrainallconfusedhere · 07/08/2019 14:44

Maybe some doodling on the van? Say isn't ds creative? He thought it was a new white board!

StaplesCorner · 07/08/2019 14:48

When you do another drawing OP can you show us why the van can't get out of the gap that "seems" to lead to the dog path? Is it too narrow? Blocked by dogs? What pens and/or stamps could you use to illustrate this? Just leaving that there with you.

StaplesCorner · 07/08/2019 14:49

Actually I think what I asked doesn't make sense, but why not do it anyway.

lovesapinot · 07/08/2019 14:52

@StaplesCorner total sense.

It's a very easy explanation however I will explain through he medium of a diagram using various stamps.

This is brilliant OP!
When he bangs on the door asking you to move, tell him you don't drive, you've no idea who that car belongs to, fuckwits just keep parking on your drive

Grin Brilliant

M3lon · 07/08/2019 15:02

I'm on the edge of my seat to see where the roads go and why you can't drive up the dog path....

QualCheckBot · 07/08/2019 15:07

The workmen are bound to want to finish by 3.30pm or 4, if they started early. I suggest going out, just before then, for a nice leisurely walk.

Nquartz · 07/08/2019 15:07

Drums fingers impatiently....

(Bored at work waiting for the latest diagram)

KitKatCHA · 07/08/2019 15:17

He's definitely going to want to be out soon, just here for the update! WinkBlush
