Has started coming in our house and stealing cat food.
Our cats dislike him. (understatement...)
Once he's in it's a problem removing him because he growls, hisses and then attacks us (launches at our legs etc).
He spends an inordinate amount of time in our garden or staring in through the French windows. Any suggestion how to gently discourage him? I have no intention of having outside doors shut for the whole summer.
Enclosed a picture of him sitting on our outside table.

Indubitably. My spaniel always looks vaguely embarrassed after he farts, which is more than can be said for my partner.

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 28/05/2019 21:13

OMG this thread is gold.

We have a very energetic 5 yr old part Bengal boy. Balls of steel indoors. HUGE claws! Soon as another cat comes in the garden he belts indoors and hides behind the washing machine.

Lets the creaky old 15yr old girl go out and sort it out.

Bloody coward.

When DW opened the front door this morning to let our's out, TC was waiting by the front door.
DW hissed at him so TC swiped (but missed).
TC is now sitting on our drive displaying his bits again Shock.

Opened the door again (for us to try to get out).
Greeted by this.

Grin Cat Comedy Gold. TC just wants to be loved.

CassandraCross · 29/05/2019 09:18

Resistance is futile.

Grumpy I check this thread every day, the antics of TC and your commentary never fail to make me smile. For purely selfish reasons (sorry) long may the war of attrition continue to brighten my day.

Your DW and Sybil are the only creatures womanning up here. He's a persistent little sod, isn't he?

YetAnotherSpartacus · 29/05/2019 11:12

In a previous life, he sold encyclopaedias door-to-door.

TheLongRider · 29/05/2019 12:09

Here's Johnny! TC is trying home invasion.

YesQueen · 29/05/2019 12:14

"If you could just hold the door hooman..."

CassandraCross · 29/05/2019 12:35

Oh yes TheLongRider it is very Jack Nicholson from the Shining - you are all doomed Grumpy doomed.Grin

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 30/05/2019 18:41

Having not seen TC all day - I just looked out of the window and realised I was being spied on from atop the barbeque.
He's clearly still plotting.

I was starting to wonder if TC's re-enactment of The Shining had led to your untimely demiseSmile.

Definitely the look of plotting world domination, is it an appropriate time to remind him he doesn't have thumbs?

YetAnotherSpartacus · 30/05/2019 18:58

I knew he wouldn't let us down!

Bookworm4 · 30/05/2019 19:57

Just open the door for him, give in.

HelmutFrontbut · 30/05/2019 19:58

I love his nonchalant expression. The cocked ear gives him away though; he's clearly waiting to hear the sound of your door opening 😹

Rinkytinkpanther · 30/05/2019 21:02

Our lovely old lady has a hint of Bengal and sees off anyone who dares to come into the garden. We've never heard a cat growl!

Bookworm4 · 30/05/2019 21:40

@rinkytink
I think even TC might hesitate if faced with your girl!!

GarthFunkel · 30/05/2019 21:44

Perhaps that's your answer - you need your own bengal cat Grin

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 30/05/2019 21:47

@rinkytink
What on earth had you said to her before you took that photo? If looks could kill Grin

I've just posted a very similar issue.

Going to have a read through this thread for suggestions.

sweetkitty · 30/05/2019 22:43

Reverse psychology with cats - invite him in and smother him with cuddles, kisses and loves, tell him he is now your kitty cat, he’ll be sure to piss off back next door Grin

We have a new car on the street, a pretty tabby and white girl she doesn’t want to move in just walk across the front garden to annoy the dog, who then goes mad barking whilst cat looks bemused. Dog which lives with 2 cats and fears them!
