Why are you all bullying the op? This could be genuine if you read between the lines
Ok, so let’s assume it is real and the OP’s children had a lovely lunch of steamed badger and rice (hopefully appropriately seasoned, you wouldn’t want bland badger) , sorry, sidetracked for a moment.
What is the cause for concern? I can see no complaints that they didn’t like it, excellent children with a varied palate. So, TB transmission is the concern from the OP.
TB is not usually transmitted orally. It is a respiratory pathogen, transferred via inhalation of sprayed bacteria from coughs, sneezes, talking etc.
Human TB is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Bovine (and badger TB) is caused by Mycobacterium bovis. There is a negligible risk of the bovine kind infecting people via unpasteurised/raw milk or extremely rarely handling raw meat. Carcasses of cattle with evidence of TB can still enter the human food chain because of the risk of transmission being so low.
Now, we have a roadkilled badger (most common cause of badger death in the UK) and we don’t know if it even had TB (around 1 in 3 do). It was thoroughly cooked and I doubt they were eating lungs. The children had no exposure to raw meat. The odds of TB transmission are so low as to be nonexistent.
There would be a far greater risk of contamination from the badger being past his best. But, this occurred several days ago and food poisoning has not occurred, so this is not a concern.
There you are, hopefully the sort of reassurance that you feel we should all have been posting.
