To harness the power of Mumsnet to make a little girl's Christmas...

Posting here for traffic because I am clearly not BU Xmas Wink

My friend's DD has lost her beloved Floffel. Floffel is her seal cuddly toy from babyhood and will never be found again as Floffel was lost overseas.

Friend's DD has written to Father Christmas asking for Floffel back. Nothing else on the list - just Floffel.

They don't effing make Floffel anymore Xmas Shock Xmas Sad Xmas Confused

Friend's DD as been through the wringer lately - can't go into details as would be outing but suffice to say she could really really do with a boost.

Please please please wonderful people of Mumsnet - if you happen to have an Aurora Naturally seal like the one in the photo hanging around your house (it's flannel not plush apparently and has the word 'naturally' on its bum) that you'd be willing to sell/give away it would truly honestly make this little girl's Christmas.

TIA Flowers

Hairydilemma · 14/12/2017 18:14

This is brilliant! I now look like a loon as I’m crying while watching a swimming lesson. Well done!!!

DS lost Walla the Koala when he was five. He’s 22 now and still brings it up when he wants to send me on a guilt trip Grin

nocoolnamesleft · 14/12/2017 19:20

Gosh. What a great thread to restore one's faith in human nature.

Fekko · 14/12/2017 19:27

DS lost a toy dog when he was 2. He decided that the police with sniffer dogs were the most likely to find 'puppy' and asked every police officer he met armed like robocop holding onto a dog if they had found his toy yet? Bless them, they were all so lovely about it and would solemnly tell him that they were looking really hard.

FancyPantsMe · 14/12/2017 19:34

How lovely. Bet you can't wait to see her face Grin

NeedMoreSleepOrSugar · 14/12/2017 20:01

shakeyourcaboose · 14/12/2017 20:36

Another in tears at the awesome mums net collective today. Had really shitty day of being yelled at and threatened (nearly had to get porter to escort me to car) so had real down on humanity, then THIS! A bloody sunbeam blasting all the negativity away! Fantastic!

TheHobbitMum · 14/12/2017 20:37

Awwww! Fab news :D

ElephantsandTigers · 14/12/2017 20:43

DH, aged 45, still sometimes talks about his cuddly lamb his mum sent to the charity shop and DD lost both her piglets from Adams in the same week. One was found but never the other one. On eBay I found one with the right ears but wrong legs and another with the right legs and wrong ears. We went for the one with the right ears as she sucked those. He arrived while dd was at nursery. I sat him on the bottom step and went off to collect two year old dd. Opened door. Oh, look dd, look who's come home! DD -that's not my piglet. Walked off. Me, 😢

RaininSummer · 14/12/2017 20:56

WellAlwaysHaveParis · 14/12/2017 21:11

QuackPorridgeBacon · 14/12/2017 21:13

Oh wow this is an amazing thread. I’m so glad a child will be happy thanks to the kindness of strangers. I really need to know if Floffel’s twin has been rescued though.
