To harness the power of Mumsnet to make a little girl's Christmas...

Posting here for traffic because I am clearly not BU Xmas Wink

My friend's DD has lost her beloved Floffel. Floffel is her seal cuddly toy from babyhood and will never be found again as Floffel was lost overseas.

Friend's DD has written to Father Christmas asking for Floffel back. Nothing else on the list - just Floffel.

They don't effing make Floffel anymore Xmas Shock Xmas Sad Xmas Confused

Friend's DD as been through the wringer lately - can't go into details as would be outing but suffice to say she could really really do with a boost.

Please please please wonderful people of Mumsnet - if you happen to have an Aurora Naturally seal like the one in the photo hanging around your house (it's flannel not plush apparently and has the word 'naturally' on its bum) that you'd be willing to sell/give away it would truly honestly make this little girl's Christmas.

TIA Flowers

God Bless us, every one.

TinselAngel · 14/12/2017 12:00

Will new Floffel be as manky and tatty as old Floffel probably was? This is worrying me.

DD would know a stunt double of her favourite toy wasn't the original straight away.

Maybe you'll need to drag new Floffel around the floor/ sit on it / smear it with chocolate or marmite, until Christmas.

How lovely. So glad you found one OP.

Years ago we left “Peter Bear” in a hotel in the Cotswolds. The hotel found him but were being very flaky about sending him back. A lovely MNetter went and rescued him and sent him back to us. I am always wondering if she’s still on here it was so long ago.

TheMamaYo · 14/12/2017 12:25

Love ths thread! Eight years ago DS2 was so absolutely besotted with "Mr Elephant" that I was petrified we would lose him. We bought it at Chester Zoo. Could't find any online and Chester was too far to go back. I posted on the Cheshire Mumsnet Local to see if anyone was going to Chester Zoo and a lovely lady was going the next week and asked them - there were none left in the shop - but she was later called over the tannoy - they had found one in the stock room. He very soon realised that there were two, but he is now besotted with both of them. Thanks again lovely Mumsnet people!
