To harness the power of Mumsnet to make a little girl's Christmas...

Posting here for traffic because I am clearly not BU Xmas Wink

My friend's DD has lost her beloved Floffel. Floffel is her seal cuddly toy from babyhood and will never be found again as Floffel was lost overseas.

Friend's DD has written to Father Christmas asking for Floffel back. Nothing else on the list - just Floffel.

They don't effing make Floffel anymore Xmas Shock Xmas Sad Xmas Confused

Friend's DD as been through the wringer lately - can't go into details as would be outing but suffice to say she could really really do with a boost.

Please please please wonderful people of Mumsnet - if you happen to have an Aurora Naturally seal like the one in the photo hanging around your house (it's flannel not plush apparently and has the word 'naturally' on its bum) that you'd be willing to sell/give away it would truly honestly make this little girl's Christmas.

TIA Flowers

EvilDoctor - the one the OP needs isn´t there.

Aridane · 14/12/2017 10:53

What a lovely thread, and what a lovely friend you are. Her DD will be thrilled.

KioskKeithForPresident · 14/12/2017 11:01

This thread is lovely.

Looks like the marvellous Bonkerz has found one and ImMeMe may be able to rescue a second one - in order to create a back story that Floffel went to find his twin sister.

EvilDoctor - OP needs a flannel one (like the picture) not a plush one.

This is such a Christmassy good will thread. If only the whole universe was like this and the news every day was full of Floffel found stories.

OP - you need to make sure that the opening of Floffel at Christmas is filmed for the little girl and her mother. It's bound to be an adorable moment they will want to treasure for ever.

ItsInTheDogsMouth · 14/12/2017 11:13

MN at it's absolute finest...am wiping away a tear of happiness now. Positively restores your faith that people can be lovely.

bettytaghetti · 14/12/2017 11:23

It would be worthwhile keeping the german website details and trying to order a spare when they come back into stock.
8 mo DS2 lost his bunny half way through our holiday in Majorca many years ago and trying to get him to sleep for the rest of the holiday was a nightmare. Heir & (many!) spares purchased on return!
Still have brand new versions of both DSs favourite cuddly toys in a cupboard somewhere and thought maybe they could be given to a grandchild, but then what would happen if they got attached to those and would never be able to find a replacement!

DontCallMeJohnBoy · 14/12/2017 11:30

I think you have sorted this now OP but I'm sure we have a flannel Floffel (never thought I'd be typing that today!) at home. DS was given it by his grandmother as a baby 8 years ago.

Message me if you still need it. I'll maybe quietly hide it somewhere so give me a shout if new Floffel goes off on his travels again in the future.

MrsMozart · 14/12/2017 11:36

Oh happy days Flowers

Goldenhandshake · 14/12/2017 11:48

This thread is sooo lovely!

FlyingFordAnglia · 14/12/2017 11:54

What a lovely thread. I can’t stop thinking of that little girl on Christmas morning opening her presents to find her Floffel! I seem to have something in my eye... please update with her reaction OP!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 14/12/2017 11:57

THIS, Ladies (and any stray gentlemen) is what

Christmas Is All About!

Love, helping each other, and not worrying about ourselves.

Wonderful.

jarhead123 · 14/12/2017 11:58

This is lovely

SchadenfreudePersonified · 14/12/2017 11:58

Something in my eye too Anglia

An eyelash, or raindrops, or Floffel dandruff, perhaps . . .
