To harness the power of Mumsnet to make a little girl's Christmas...

Posting here for traffic because I am clearly not BU Xmas Wink

My friend's DD has lost her beloved Floffel. Floffel is her seal cuddly toy from babyhood and will never be found again as Floffel was lost overseas.

Friend's DD has written to Father Christmas asking for Floffel back. Nothing else on the list - just Floffel.

They don't effing make Floffel anymore Xmas Shock Xmas Sad Xmas Confused

Friend's DD as been through the wringer lately - can't go into details as would be outing but suffice to say she could really really do with a boost.

Please please please wonderful people of Mumsnet - if you happen to have an Aurora Naturally seal like the one in the photo hanging around your house (it's flannel not plush apparently and has the word 'naturally' on its bum) that you'd be willing to sell/give away it would truly honestly make this little girl's Christmas.

TIA Flowers

Ah well done Bonkerz. This has cheered me up no end!

thelastredwinegum · 14/12/2017 07:59

Lovely news!!!!! He needs a holiday postcard with him all wrapped up.

I'd be happy to send a postcard - have a few in my collection.

Try the Facebook page run by the family of the autistic child (I think) who lost his favourite sippy cup - an appeal meant they ended up with a lifetime supply prompting the family to continue the page for lost/missing/no longer manufactured items - it's surprising what people have lying around their homes.

nornironlady · 14/12/2017 08:00

*I'm not on Facebook sorry or I would post a link!

Bicnod · 14/12/2017 08:01

@BrizzleDrizzle that would be so amazing! That's really kind of you to offer. I could take some photos when floffel arrives and send them to you. Will talk to Friend about countries...

I just sorry I didn't have time to wash him or create a back story for why he's been missing! I felt it more important to get it there with post being such a nightmare

SootSprite · 14/12/2017 08:03

I love MN sometimes. And the lost twin idea? Genius 😍

The weather is miserable, my DD didn't sleep all night and her morning nap has been sabotaged by workmen outside the house making noise, I've realised that I haven't got half prepared for Christmas and we fly home in two days.......... But I am going to have the biggest smile on my face all day thanks to this thread!

blueskyinmarch · 14/12/2017 08:22

Sometimes MN is a wonderful place. I seem to have developed eye leakage reading this thread. There is going to be one happy young girl this Christmas.

ToothyMcPuthy · 14/12/2017 08:30

What a fantastic update! We absolutely need a photo when friend's DD is reunited with Floffel Xmas Smile

Bicnod · 14/12/2017 08:46

Heard back from my lovely friend in Germany who tried to order from that website:

"Bad news, I'm afraid. Apparently this item is unavailable and won't be possible to offer until after Karneval, i.e. in the Spring!"

Very relieved that floffel has been found or would be weeping on the train to work on opening that email!

Bonkerz you are amazing!
How old is your dc? Would they like a gift in return for giving up Floffel?

FinallyHere · 14/12/2017 09:09

So glad, thank you , you bonkers kind lot, for a warm and fuzzy thread, feels like proper Christmas to me

Id vote for keeping a spare, and swapping 'em round occasionally so they each wear equally.

LoudestRoar · 14/12/2017 09:20
