Little things that put you off going out with someone

I was thinking today about the little things over the course of my dating years men have done/said that instantly made me think "nope, not you". They were probably perfectly nice people in retrospect...

  1. Looked mildly nonplused about a woman in a picture having underarm hair.

  2. Liked Miranda.

  3. Used the phrase "wedding tackle".

There are probably countless more. Tell me yours...

  1. Spent more than two minutes "grooming" to go out.

These are so funny. Here's a few of mine.........

Really poor spelling. So bad I would have to read through his texts a few times to try and understand what he was saying.

Mentioned a few times already but long nails are a total turn off for me as well.

And I actually left a date after an hour or so (told him I needed the toilet in the cinema and ran out ) because he told me his nickname was 'fifty' and he wanted me to refer to him as such. He used the words 'ding dong' (The first words he spoke as we met) and he took 3 selfies just in the hour we spent together. TBH the one would have been enough anyway.

iklboo · 22/04/2017 22:59

Oh...the bloke who said 'You remind me of a carpet. Because I really want to lay you'. Followed me around all night. I ended up asking a gay male friend to pretend to kiss me so he'd go away.

wooster16 · 22/04/2017 23:00

A bogey. I know we all get them but it really put me off him - it was waggling about when he was talking to me Blush

maplepixie · 22/04/2017 23:05

Mine are so petty (all the same person)
Could never get it up
Shit in bed
Spoke to his parents in Scottish accent but very one else in English
Didn't know what garnish was
Thought Canadian was the same accent as an English accent
Basically thick as shit

geddes · 22/04/2017 23:08

Had a needle dick and called me a bitch and a whore as he came. WTF?

Mine called me a dirty little bitch Hmm

I mean, there's probably a time and a place for everything in bed but you need to be sure the other party's up for it too!

geddes · 22/04/2017 23:09

maple I read that as [He] shit in [the] bed and was Shock

GrinGrin

Swarskid2184 · 22/04/2017 23:09

Putting on different accents for different people is a massive turnoff.
Licking his beard out the side of mouth.
Talking in a baby voice

maplepixie · 22/04/2017 23:12

@geddes hahaha!

maplepixie · 22/04/2017 23:16

Oh and I started nothing he had a really stupid walk. And he also had the appetite of a 90 year old....

maplepixie · 22/04/2017 23:16

Started noticing*

AtSea1979 · 22/04/2017 23:20

One had a pet snake left him after 20 mins.

Too many sexist ones to count.

Too many personal hygiene ones to count.

Too many pretending to be taller/younger/slimmer or entirely a different person than they were.

TheGhostsOfPresidentsYetToCome · 22/04/2017 23:24

I went on a first date with a man I met online to the cinema (very bad idea for a first date, no idea what I was thinking).

He stank, and I mean completely hummed, of dog. It was overwhelmingly unbearable. And I had to sit next to him for 2 full hours.

He tried to explain it saying his dog jumped up at him before he left but if one jump made him smell that bad, how bad would his dog have smelled? And how awful would his house have smelled? I left straight after the film and actually swerved to avoid his touch on the way out.

ArcheryAnnie · 22/04/2017 23:26

Didn't know what garnish was

This has made me giggle like a maniac.

AtSea1979 · 22/04/2017 23:27

How did you not sneak out during the adverts!

maplepixie · 22/04/2017 23:46

@ArcheryAnnie I laugh now.but at the time I couldn't believe how fricken stupid one person could be and had an argument in asda sandwich area about it coz he was getting embarrassed and offended about me shouting how fricken much of a dumb ass did he want to be not knowing what garnish was. Grin

TheGhostsOfPresidentsYetToCome · 22/04/2017 23:48

Me at sea? I really wanted to see the film and also I'd shelled out for both our tickets as even at that point I knew I wouldn't be seeing him again and I didn't want him thinking I "owed" him anything!

Wish I'd gone by myself though!

HollyWollyDooDah · 23/04/2017 00:15

One spent the whole "date" talking about his ex wife (who left him for another woman)
Confused
Needless to say that one went nowhere

GolderAndWiser · 23/04/2017 00:32

a disproportionately high number of men I've gone on one date with claim that their wife left them for a woman. I am beginning to wonder if it's a way to avoid saying ''well, what with my laziness, porn-addiction, sexting and inclination to blame her for everything, she left.........''.

titsmcgee22 · 23/04/2017 00:49
  1. DTD would say "tell me you're gorgeous" repeatedly with his hands behind his head. Also suggested I might want to tidy up my vagina, I suggested he look for another vagina.
  1. "I wouldn't have gone out with you if you were bigger than a size 14 as that's my absolute limit", had a teeny tiny mushroom shaped penis and did not like oral sex.
  1. Popped back so I could use loo at mine, took off all his clothes except grey y fronts and lay on my bed waiting for me. He'd decided to light some candles but set my feather duvet on fire instead.

All different men.

There are others but my brain hurts thinking about them Confused

ArcheryAnnie · 23/04/2017 01:20

He'd decided to light some candles but set my feather duvet on fire instead.

This is just magnificent. Did you catch him aflame, or just hopping about trying to put it out?

titsmcgee22 · 23/04/2017 01:50

Archeryannie - he hopped about in his pants. He had very long hair too which was also flapping about. Needless to say he didn't stop around for long

WanderingTrolley1 · 23/04/2017 03:02

Counted down to his orgasm from 5.
White terry socks with black shoes.

Bebopaloula · 23/04/2017 04:57

I went on a date with a guy who assumed that I liked Avril Lavigne. He then went on about it all night and tried to guess what my favorite song was!Confused

ScouseBird8364 · 23/04/2017 05:43
