There is a tiny elderly Korean lady in my garden and I want to go out.

Sold our summerhouse on gum tree. Dude came to look at it this morning about 9am, paid and was back by 11 to dismantle it. DH all togged up to assist but the guy politely and firmly refused as he wanted to take it apart himself so he could put it back together himself.

He pulled his van into our side return and installed a tiny elderly Korean lady (he is also Korean) on a deck chair on our patio.

He then spent an hour writing on every plank and taking 1500 photographs.

He then spent two hours peeling off the roof felt painstakingly. Korean lady has been to toilet twice. As far as I can see she is here for the day out.

However she has just been to the car and produced steaming hot noodles, broth and vegetables and they have had a lovely leisurely lunch on the patio.

He has just now resumed work and has actually started to remove the planks. Slowly. Methodically. I know because he has told me that there are 85 planks. Plus window. To removed and carry to car. DHs help has again been refused although he has taken matters into his own hands a bit and is carrying planks to car.

Elderly lady back on deck chair.

Help!! We want to go out and thought that this would take 2-3 hours max. It's been 4 and only the roof felt is off. We could lock the back door and leave them in the garden but what about elderly lady's toilet needs???? And water etc? They have a little tea break (from a flask) every now and then and have refused drinks but they must need water at some point.

MN at it's best - fantastic thread Grin

londonrach · 09/08/2014 17:55

What op.....no you need to get hold of her now...you can't let someone else trap her...

enormouse · 09/08/2014 17:55

Grin EKL is a veritable force of truth and goodness and soup.

I'm sure she'd be a dab hand at mobilising a shiftless DP/H too.
I bet she'd do it with just a stern look whilst simultaneously knocking up a batch of delicious soup and having a toddler hanging off her.

MrsChickPea · 09/08/2014 17:56

Oh no. I don't want this to end...

Boysclothes · 09/08/2014 17:56

Ok closer looking through lounge window reveals young white man is actually early thirties and is wearing hot pants and a v neck vest. Sending DH out now for info.

Boys your poor dh being all togged up and ready in 'man dismantling summer house mode' to be politely and firmly rebuffed, I am imagining his face crumpling. At least he gets to move some timbers and expose a rats nestGrin.

Sorry... do men in their 30's wear hot pants... I've had a glass of wine otherwise I'd be driving straight to New Malden! Surely this will shock the EKL?

Unlabelled · 09/08/2014 17:59

Have you offered her pombears?

LEMmingaround · 09/08/2014 17:59

It gets better!

Hot pants you say?

Boysclothes · 09/08/2014 18:00

Yes emotions!! He then had to sort of style it out wafting round the garden in "I dress like this all the time cos I do so much manual work ANYWAY" mode and then he borrowed KMs saw to cut down a tree.

I need to know what hot pants man is doing there? Maybe he runs an EKL agency and will be in negotiations (this is how they trap you, it's like the weirdest form of cold calling!)

WitchWay · 09/08/2014 18:02

Was he supposed to be cutting down the tree? or was it macho posturing?

wineoclocktimeye · 09/08/2014 18:02

Eeek rats -

Boysclothes · 09/08/2014 18:02

Last bits going on van now....

DH got the skinny, white man is merely a neighbour helping. And extremely, extremely camp.

Let me just find my travelcard.

Shall I pick up wine on the way? Wink

Boysclothes · 09/08/2014 18:03

DH cut the tree down. To somehow compensate for not being allowed to help with the summerhouse. DS did similar by banging a chair leg with his plastic hammer.

(Already out the door....seeing you so close I think you need help....)

MrsChickPea · 09/08/2014 18:04

This is it then. You need to take a photo... you need to remember this forever.
