Jan 1 1991

Today, after watching the film Space Camp, I have launched a new ambition....to be the first person to have baby in SPACE. Neat huh!

Ok so I happen to have my 1991 diary down from the loft from when I was trying to date some old photos

I am old though so had already left school

Feb 1 1991
Rather a depressing day
stayed till half 2 at work
one of the puppies tested positive for parvo so we prob wont hear for another week
went shopping bought D a card & tokens, cabbage and peanuts (not for D), got stuck in a jam coming home.
Henry left in Neighbours...very moving Grin
just watched Kane and Abel [sp]
its a week now since we chose our puppy..it seems more and more unlikely that we'll ever get him

crikey my diary was boring.....maybe I should go and get the ones from 1980's when I was at school, they'd be much more entertaining!

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 19/02/2014 22:48

Best thread ever!!!! Grin

Oh and thanks to whoever recommended the book...I've ordered one!

Rhubarbgarden · 19/02/2014 22:48

Bath Pearls! Loving this thread. Thank you. Smile

NoLikeyNoLighty · 19/02/2014 23:15

OMG, I still have all my diaries from approx 1991 - 1996! They make brilliant reading, as I love to read back occasionally and Grin
Seriously though, I've got pages and pages of thoughts between the ages of 13 and 18.
Great to stumble across every now and again and laugh at yourself and your ramblings, and see and remember what you did when! Smile

Anniemousse · 19/02/2014 23:18

Post some Nolikey

Will dig them out tomorrow and post the earliest entry I can find Smile

This is wonderful, mine was just full of how annoying my mother was. Think I was too mortified to write about my abiding and powerful love for my friend's older brother who was 18 when I was 11, but who I sincerely hoped was saving himself for me.

KateSMumsnet · 20/02/2014 12:15

This thread is highly excellent - so much so that we're going to put it in Classics!

HighlanderMam · 20/02/2014 12:20

Anniemousse · 20/02/2014 13:42

Wow. I'm so proud.
My 12/13 year old self would be mortified

This has made me laugh so muchGrin Here's mine:
17 Feb 1972 Late to bed 11 p.m. Maths - Mr Roach in Room 33. Guess who was outside the door when it finished?

No, i can't guess either. I was 15 and there were a few likely candidates, none of whom ever noticed me.

Inspired by this thread, the A5 diary/notebook I ordered has arrived today.

Determined to keep it up and write in it whenever possible.

vladthedisorganised · 20/02/2014 15:31

Some more that made me giggle:

March 3rd 1992. Sarah has decided to be a vegetarian. Not sure what she'll eat as she doesn't like vegetables or fruit and she isn't that keen on potatoes or yoghurt.

March 4th 1992. Sarah is still a vegetarian. She won't eat Polo mints either as she said that the machine that stamps holes in them uses whale oil. I don't know whether I believe her but she says she knows it's true.

March 5th 1992. Sarah has decided not to be a vegetarian any more because she was missing eating Frazzles.

HighlanderMam · 20/02/2014 16:20

Grin at the machine using whale oil!

ToffeeOwnsTheSausage · 20/02/2014 16:33

That reminds me of the time I decided I would be a vegetarian and the next day at work I had a Cornish pasty as I forgot it had meat in Grin.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 20/02/2014 16:40

Grin at Skill

Yay, it's gone to Classics!

noidles · 20/02/2014 16:42

Oh my god! MacBee - I'm in that book! Well, my diaries are in a few chapters. I won't say which, though lest I be outed!

You should also know there's a monthly event in London and it's lots of fun. The facebook group which gives details of when the events are is here: www.facebook.com/pages/London-Cringe/190323204388608

Also, for those who don't want to buy the book, some of the extracts were here (including one of mine):
