I hope no one minds but I've brought my own chair!!
There's space for you too Shabs (and anyone else not planning on expanding their family!!)

If it's ok can I hide in here for a while before I say something I might regret on another thread? I promise I won't take up too much room (lost 2 stone dontcha know!!)

Afternoon everyone. Surely I'm the poshest after all I do live in the poshest part of the north west .

Curiosity, loving that list (especially as I keep going down it and not up ). 10/11 will be the last possible day that I will probably be pg though as my hospital will not let me go beyond 38 weeks. My consultant was talking about an elective at the back end of 37 weeks last time we spoke so I think that is still the plan.

Thanks for the advice re snowsuits. Mars, I went for some M&S pramsuits in the end which are cotton jersey on the inside and needlecord on the outside so not too warm I hope. The other snowsuits they had were way too puffy and huge. Best of all mum paid . We also bought some small all in ones with matching hats for coming out of hospital and some tiny white socks . Saw at least two other sets of twins while shopping - made me feel nearly normal.

Ruby, spanish eh? That's quite impressive. DS1 did some last year at school and this year they are apparently doing Greek - I am not convinced he will be fluent enough to be useful on a decent holiday though .

Hello firsttimetwins and welcome - I'm not worried about moving down on the list at all - it must mean I have aaaagges yet .

Must dash now as tumble drier has finished - it didn't beep - I'm obviously not post after all......

snorris · 17/09/2009 14:29

Doh! I am such a jelly-brain at the moment, I read your post & wondered what I'd said to get that reaction . That's where the 2 stone has gone from

bagpuss · 17/09/2009 14:31

Oh, god I've cross posted with everyone again . Sorry! Will catch up again later no doubt .

snorris · 17/09/2009 14:40

Lol! And I thought it was me that was cross-posting!! Takes me forever in between my dodgy internet connection and sorting out children!!

estar · 17/09/2009 14:42

Not hard today bagpuss, we seem to be on a roll. Lots of untidy multiple households across Britain and beyond today, I suspect...

What, just me? Doh

shabbapinkfrog · 17/09/2009 15:16

Bagpuss GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKK!!! I said GREEK???? I can speak some Greek and not all rude words or swear words. Have got about 3 Greek phrase books and a dear friend called Nikos to help me with any tricky words or phrases. Afkharisto xxx

firsttimetwins · 17/09/2009 16:05

Harrogatemum, I'm in Prenzlauer Berg, just near the Mauer Park, if that means anything to you. I love Berlin too and I think it's going to be a great place to have kids. At least I hope so... And if only I could get chocolate hob nobs and Shreddies here, my life would be complete... (I'm easily pleased)
Bagpuss, glad you don't mind the thought of still having ages to go, I'd quite like the next 7 weeks to pass pretty quickly.
Changing the sheets twice a day isn't posh, it's just mad! And wasteful, think about her carbon footprint!

End of my earlier post: I'm obviously not posh after all .

Shabs, I thought you would like that . dd and ds1 are both learning about ancient greece this term so not sure how much of the language lessons will be current.

estar, nope mine's the same .

snorris, I know what you mean, my laptop is on a go slow today - I'm finding it tricky to read all of these posts before more appear.

firsttimetwins, I am sure that once I'm more organised I will be wanting the time to pass quickly too - I just have too much other stuff to sort out first .

shabbapinkfrog · 17/09/2009 17:09

The phrase books I have got are classic kind of 'Athens' Greek but as soon as you get to the Greek islands they each have their own accent and slang words. If I text my friends with sentences from the phrase book - there replies are often 'Why you speak posh?'

I can do all the hello and goodbye stuff - ask for a beer or food, definitly know the polite stuff and one or two brilliant swear words. When I am there I find it quite easy to understand but it is 1000 times harder when I am at home. You have to remember to bark out the words and talk very quickly ROFL xx

NotQuiteSoBigBird · 17/09/2009 19:21

Hello everyone, I think I need to stop lurking since I seem to be managing to check this several times a week now I'm back at work (where all my best MN-ing is done ). So many babies on the way, how lovely. Coo-ey!! The end of my pregnancy with my DTs was the slowest, longest weeks of my life, but when you look back they will seem like nothing.
I'm not posh.
I love a nice snowsuit but they are so expensive for such little wear, aren't they?!

shabbapinkfrog · 17/09/2009 19:23

Dizzy just emailed me and asked if I would let everybody know that she is back in hospital, on a drip because of dehydration. Hoping to be home tomorrow.

NQSBB nice to see you! How are the gorgeous ones getting on? When do you work? I'll bring jelly babies and LDC when you're off.

HarrogateMum · 17/09/2009 21:34

FTTwins - prenzlauer berg, is that in the old East? I spent many happy times in Haselhorst whilst still at school, and have an English friend who lives in Zehlendorf, teaches at a German school. What brought you to Berlin in the first place?

Hello all (waving), just done a facebook profile on what legendary drinker you are and I was Oliver Reed. Should I be worried (hic)......

PS FG - I thknk it might have been me that started the hwole FG moat, castle, helicopter thing...sorrreeeeeeee

HarrogateMum · 17/09/2009 21:35

I am clearly Oliver Reed, I cannot spell! (almost wrote sppeeeeeeeellllllll)

NotQuiteSoBigBird · 17/09/2009 21:36

Hope Dizzy is OK. [worried emoticon]
Mars, DD2 is poorly, she crawled onto my chest when I got in from work today and slobbered all over me for an hour before going to bed, so sweet if a bit sad. DS is HUGE, apparently he tried to comfort DD2 when she was snivelling this afternoon but just succeeded in wrestling her to the ground and causing yet more snot and tears. They are just adorable together, and their favourite thing in the world is their big sister.
I'm home on Mon and Tuesdays, come visit .

oooggs · 17/09/2009 21:49

wow loads pregnant and loads of newborns as well I am past all that now. DS3 is a delight and at 7 mths if he was our first I would be after no. 2 but he is the last, bedrooms filled so mother in law can't move in, table filled and bank accounts empty

Hope everyone is well

pixiblue · 17/09/2009 22:58

I'm currently feeling very annoyed at dh's 14 year old niece, well more specifically his sister who allowed her daughter to drop out of school last year and is taking her daughter out clubbing every night while on holiday.

shabbapinkfrog · 17/09/2009 23:02

Thats not great Pixie - might seem the easy alternative at the moment but its just a situation heading towards Jeremy Kyle show. Not suprised you are annoyed. xx

pixiblue · 17/09/2009 23:17

Shabs, I wonder if she'll have the intelligence to realise someday that her mum has screwed up her life by being her best mate rather than her mother. Sorry for ranting here, just needed to moan to someone and explain my fb postings for MN friends.

pixiblue · 17/09/2009 23:23

Shabs how many days till your next summer hol? Need something good to occupy my mind if I'm ever to sleep tonight. Have the in laws (fil & bil) visiting so that's why it's playing on my mind.
