Hoochie Hillarious, isn't it? I try and get DD and DS eco friendly/fair traded/ edcuational toys, but they love love the plastic stuff that makes silly noises

New Year's Resolution: to buy more fun toys!

ChristMarsSleighdy · 28/12/2008 18:30

The Pixis came to visit yesterday on their way home.

My but those children have grown.

I fed and watered them. Other than that my lips are sealed! The scandal I could report re:Pixi is somehow not worth the scandal she could report about me lol!

Lovely end to the day.

I think I'm going to have to find my Devonshire holiday home for the summer holidays.

silentnightnotatripletinsight · 28/12/2008 18:49

Glad the Pixis dropped by, I would love to meet her, she sent us a lovley Christmas card. Had my Ma here all day, roast leg of lamb which was lovely, after lunch I put a dvd of Miss Potter on to Harry`s dismay, but it stopped my dear Mama from talking all afternoon Hope you are all rested, ha ha!

tough question!! can we help?

frumpyThegrumpyReindeer · 28/12/2008 21:24

Right, I'm all caught up

Had a great Christmas morning here, just the 5 of us for presents which was a refreshing change. Got to open stuff and build Playmobil things with bacon rolls and tea, BLISS!! Would like that bit to have lasted all day!

Went to DP's parents (its a MIL thing )to swap gifts with them plus BIL/SIL/SIL/DN etc and it was ok, then to my parents. Crazy mayhem ensued from the moment we left our house til the moment we got home and to cut a long story short.........my gran (84) took ill halfway through Christmas dinner and, once you have watched prawns and smoked salmon and chicken soup come flying out along with false teeth and caught them in a pot pourri dish for her before slooshing out the bowl, rinsing the teeth and helping her change ......well, it does kind of put a stop to the eating-the-turkey part. I swear I have not managed to eat a proper Christmas dinner in about 8 years, something ALWAYS hi-jacks it!!!!

She's ok. It was a combination of reasons. Anyway, I have been busy with family stuff ever since and I was longing, longing for a quiet Hogmanay and finally spending some time on the couch, snuggling with the kids and watching crap on telly.......until DP unfairly pressured me into agreeing to visit friends in Ireland for new year.

I am not Mrs Sociable at the best of times but I would visit. Just not now. Not when I have been busy, busy, busy and desperately need some time off. Now I have to thinking laundry and packing and toys and books and grabbing some gifts to take etc etc. We leave on Tuesday

What do I have to do to get some time off?

I really don't want to go. But I have to get on with it. Its booked and its done. Wish me luck.

How is everyone? Happy Birthday to those who are having them. Shabs, Happy Birthday to your DTs. Its my baby brother's birthday today also. 29. Almost alone and in Melbourne!!! He's 11 hours ahead and it so difficult to get a good time to talk to him.

Anyway, I'm off for a bath and crap telly to salve my soul. The laundry will wait. The plastic shite (Momma, your terms are eloquent ) new stuff will wait. The trail of toys from the livingroom to the kitchen, to the hall, running upstairs and into every room up there can wait. The packaging (JEEZ THE PACKAGING!!! It should be OUTLAWED!!!!) can wait.

Did I mention DP is off to work in Germany for 3 months? He will come home at weekends. Is either of those statements good? Or bad? I can't quite make up my tiny mind.

silentnightnotatripletinsight · 28/12/2008 22:24

Hi girls,
Glad you all had a good time, sorry to hear about gran FG! Thank you too for your card. I suddenly feel abit fed up tonight, think my mum enjoyed herself here today, she never is very enthusiastic. H went off to bed after I know having too much to drink, about 9pm, leaving me with three hyper kids and alot of clearing up to do! Dont get me wrong, he has eaten and drank well all day, the most Ive seen him eat in weeks, he deserves it after his awful year, and it won`t be long before he is back in hospital then onto chemo, poor thing. Just feel I want something nice to happen, need a break to look forward to, this time of year I am always planning where we are off to next, so feeling trapped atm. Just need a laugh with some other company, anyone fancy a trip to the seaside?

silentnightnotatripletinsight · 28/12/2008 22:27

I shall be like your gran, just realised I have eaten almost 500 grs of macamamia nuts and cranberries whilst on here

frumpyThegrumpyReindeer · 28/12/2008 22:27

Trips, I'm tunnelling to Devonia, I can manage to side step I'm sure!

When can you plan a small break? Even just one night? Is H able to have the trio for a night?

frumpyThegrumpyReindeer · 28/12/2008 22:29

Trips, worry not, I can catch vomit well. Please no falsers though, that was too much!!!

And where are your lovely friends? The ones you sometimes have beach piss ups singsongs with?
