Hiya Rubester - I think Ems PND is a lot better - she seems brighter and much happier. I just miss them very much. All will be well....all will be well.

shabster · 20/09/2008 18:06

Tonights babysitting is off. Dan has a migrane and Em is off shopping with her Mum and Lewis.

For the mighty Frumpster

MarsLady · 20/09/2008 18:57

Rubes... I called. It's so early in the school year and I didn't want to start the separation thing yet. [blush[ Who knew I had a soft heart sigh... The mother was really nice and I told her that this would be the only time I did this as I want to encourage separate playdates etc.

Also (something that I didn't tell the mum) DT2 would be devestated if she wasn't there. He wailed like a banshee when I took him to have his ears checked when he realised that she wasn't coming out of the house with us.

Shabs... Lew will know you better than his own hand my lovely, fret not!

Hi all,
Feeling abit fed up, in need of some stimulating adult company.................male, 62. brown eyes.........huh hummmmmmm now where was I? Oh yes, fed up. Kids still carrying on, told then 10 times to be quiet as their Dad is not well and is trying to sleep, hes been up there since 8.30pm. He has hardly had a thing to eat all day, hope tomorrow I come down to see him eating bacon and eggs!. A bit fed up with the owners of this house, mailed her back and said yes please, how do we pay etc, what time can we arrive. Sent 2 messages and one message on the answer phone, nothing. Its just that I think it will be a good idea to drive only half way and stay at a travelodge, trouble is now I have missed the £19 rooms, we have to book 2 rooms. I am sooooooooooooooo tired tonight, so its off to bed for me, then maybe those awful boys will be quiet. Night night all xxx

shabster · 20/09/2008 22:30

Sorry I missed you Trips.....we should be out, dancing, laughing and getting drunk. Its Saturday night FGS!!

Oh my word I am very disatisfied with my life really pissed off fed up with the lot of it.

Mid life crisis? Menopause? Old bag syndrome?

xx

triplets · 20/09/2008 22:35

Ere I am!

triplets · 20/09/2008 22:37

Feel fed up too, cannot remember the last time I really laughed, need a night out, why do we live so far apart? Just seem to cook, clean, look after kids and feel worried about H, can`t sleep, feel fat and never have enough money!

triplets · 20/09/2008 22:41

My brother went to see my poorly brother this morning and he said he could shake him, think we all could! He is wallowing in his op, has made no effort to go out for his short daily walks for 3 days now. There is poor H struggling to get down to the allotment, terribly thin, looks so old atm, it is breaking my heart to watch him. Makes a by-pass sound good to me, I`d swap that diagnosis any day, or am I being mean?

triplets · 20/09/2008 22:48

Def going to bed this time before I get the bag of nuts out! Sweet dreams to all xx

shabster · 20/09/2008 22:50

Sat here dipping my chicken crisp in coleslaw and having a few apple juices!! International jet setter or what???

Agree with your thoughts about exchanging Harry's health problems for a bypass.

Did you see in the news that Kirsty Howard (local girl) is celebrating her 13th birthday? She is the little girl born with her heart back to front. 9 years ago they gave her one week to live!! She was at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Manchester with David Beckham. Bet they are having a wonderful party.

MERLYPUSS · 20/09/2008 23:41

Just dropping in to say night night. DTs had their 8month check yesterday. I am borderline PND and have to go back for a 1 to 1 chat. Oh joy.

shabster · 20/09/2008 23:54

night Merly - that PND is a swine - might be good for you to have a gab with someone who knows what they are talking about????? xxxx

shabster · 21/09/2008 00:13

My sleep pattern is just rubbish. I am not tired at all. Thoughts running about like labrador puppies on the toilet paper ads!!!

Lets find a good song.....

Wonderful song that makes me feel like a teenager all over again

ChopsTheDuck · 21/09/2008 07:43

Exam date is 8th October.
Last exam I got 55% time before I got 69% - very frustrating because 70% is the threshold for a 2.1.

I really like that keywords idea estar, will work on that.
I do have some trial essays to do.

Revision is just so boring too - going over and over topics I've already studied! And trying to memorise the names of a ferw hundred court cases. I never revised at all before my starting my degree.

Is every one enjoying the lovely weather? So relieved to see the end of constant rain. Had a lovely day out yesterday walking along the canal and watching the boats. Planning a bbq today to finish up the bits still in the freezer.

shabster · 21/09/2008 10:27

Morning girls.

Chopster - I KNOW you will do well!!

Enjoying the sunshine here as well. Tom just went out for the day with my mum and dad. They are going to Fairhaven Lake, near Blackpool. They have an hour on the motor boats and then the three of them play cricket!!! LOL my mum is 74 and my dad is 76!

frumpygrumpy · 21/09/2008 11:24

went to the ball
had a giggle
there were kilts and bagpipes
wore my red silk top, my best jewelry and a french manicure and felt most beautiful
but a girl told me it was "very, very 'unusual'" to wear trousers to a ball (I smiled through it and said "F* off, its none of your business" silently inside my head - they were cream wide legged crepe trousers and hardly my jeans and anyway, there were more than enough skirts kilts in the room!)
went to the mens loos by mistake and got caught, smiled through it
finished at 2am and met up with my little brother in a club then it all got a bit hazy..........

woke up in only my pants and couldn't remember which room I'd left my clothes in
couldn't find my best jewelry
had the remains of my eye make up waving at me

I felt like that video Shabs just linked in - the Robbie Williams one. I dozed on the couch all day and ate fish suppers for tea. Watched XFactor and went to bed!

Continued to have flashbacks all day yesterday......mainly of dancing with my cousin to Uptown Girl. He was whirling me across the floor and we were being so stupid

Lovely. Lets do it again!!!! My brother leaves today. I'm taking him to the aiport around 3pm. Tears. There will be tears.

frumpygrumpy · 21/09/2008 11:25

TRIPS HAS A HOLIDAY!!!! Yahoo!

shabster · 21/09/2008 11:27

Frumpster - it sounds like a wonderful night - apart from the Robbie Williams wake up!!! LOL.

Its the law to have tears when a loved one is at an airport!!! Totally, the law. xx

frumpygrumpy · 21/09/2008 11:30

Shabs Sorry to hear bout Lew, Dan and Em. Maybe they just need a little time to be selfish and to be themselves. Try to ride it. My advice would be don't do anything. Leave them. Never mention it. How often did they visit before Lewis was born?

It doesn't matter that Lewis doesn't know you atm. He will know you. He wouldn't remember this time with you anyway. When he is 2/3/4 he will have conversations with you and you will do daft things and thats the important bit. He doesn't care who gives him food and a cuddle right now. He just wants it. Its bound to hurt though. Can you leave it a few weeks and then invite them for Sunday dinner? Any birthdays coming up?

frumpygrumpy · 21/09/2008 11:32

I'll wear extra eye make up then. That way, I can cry it all right down my face and look totally the part

shabster · 21/09/2008 12:21

They visited every week before Lew. Really feel I have somehow lost Ems friendship - I know it is not that serious and also know it is ME being jealous and over sensitive. I also love to be the boss! I love being the one who my sons come to for advice and help - somewhat a control freak!!

I have been just contacting them to ask them how they are etc etc. Its soooooooooo hard to not say the wrong things.

DH birthday at the beginning of October so thats a good excuse.

All will be well.....ALL WILL BE WELL xx

jennyroper · 21/09/2008 12:48

Shabster
my family are in Lytham - I take my son down to Fairhaven Lake quite a bit to potter around on the playground and admire the evil looking and threatening ducks and geese. There are donkey rides on the St Annes beach just next to the Lake. All good old fashioned family fun. V different to where I live in New Zealand - donkeys on the beach? they would think that most bizarre.
I feel for you in your predicament wanting to see your son, daughter in law and little grandchild. I'm sure you will see them plenty soon. My husband is one of 4 boys and I really feel for my MIL. She was clearly an amazing ma to bring up 4 loving boys, but every time they have babies the wives (including me) want their own mums which pushes her sideways. My twins are due in December and even though my parents are coming to nz to help for 2 months have asked my MIL to look after my son while they are being born to try and include her more. But you are absolutely right, all well be well for you
