Good morning. Went up to my friends last night to say 'bye and good luck' to her daughter who is going to Uni at the weekend. Haven't been out during the week since Tom started High School and the result is I am more tired than Mr Tired from Tired Street. Dreading having to try and wake Tom up!!! We were home by 11pm as well.

shabster · 12/09/2008 07:32

AG - fantastic flue

shabster · 12/09/2008 07:47

Right girls - wish me luck - up the dolly dancers to wake the tired Tomster up - its not going to be easy, but someone has to do it!

shabster · 12/09/2008 08:26

Hiya Ruby - lads are hopeless arent they?

shabster · 12/09/2008 10:41

Oh my word ladies - have you been watching the news? XL airways have gone bust! We were trying hard to get the money together to book our flights with them for next year! We have all been miserable because we couldn't get the money together. Thank God we couldn't.

The news just said they have 85,000 customers who are affected. The only people who wont be flown home are customers who booked via XL.com

Talk about ce sera sera....

shabster · 12/09/2008 10:43

Piggin' hell!!!! 3 flights trying to go out from Manchester have been banned from taking off!

HarrogateMum · 12/09/2008 10:59

AG wow, I am in awe......

Shabs - that was lucky! There must be lots of other airlines that go to Rhodes? You will be right for next years umpah fest!

Rubes - I think you also mentioned something about what you're going through on another thread once. Echo what FG said - email if need to vent! You can always contact me through FB.

Today I am mostly letting the kids watch TV like a bad mother and maybe taking them out for a walk in the woods and to see the ducks before lunch. And the usual - washing, tidying, cleaning, wiping snotty noses, blah blah blah. Then going to the pub with the girls tonight, yay!!

shabster · 12/09/2008 11:23

There are several other companies who fly to Rhodes. We picked XL in June because they were the cheapest by about £100 per person. The chairman of XL was on the news just now almost in tears. One of the other companies - I think it was easyjet are offering to fly all the people home for £75 per person no matter where they are flying from.

Thats all well and good - BUT in our case we are well and truly spent up by the end of our hols and dont have credit cards because we are on benefits and couldn't pay them back. We would be up the proverbial river without a paddle!!

Ta Rubester - what a great idea

piximon · 12/09/2008 13:19

I braved baby & toddler group today. dts fought each other, cried for extra snacks and had an all round good time. Prince was model baby. I only got one "hands full" comment on the way home. Success all round.

My volunteer helper was due to go on holiday on Mon but phoned to say she may not be able to fly now. for her, but if she misses hols she says she'll come and make my life easier

frumpygrumpy · 12/09/2008 14:32

Pixi, good for you hen! Love it when it works out. Sad for your helper but.......it'll work out.....
