Good morning girls,
Was I missed last night? I went to bed early thoroughly peed off with DH who is being a pita to me atm. Last night it was actually warm enough to sit outside for supper, all was going well, then he starts talking about a friends surprise 40th we are going to on Sat, kids don`t know incase they blab at school. So I cough and give him one of my looks to say shhhhhhhhhh, and he storms off and called me a bitch!! Fed up, last week I am sick with worry, this week I am fed up with him, what to do? Envious of you Momma going to see Mama Mia, I should have been going tonight with some friends which would have been a laugh, instead of which I am entertaining his cousin from Wigan! Kids finish at 2pm today.........oh joy!!

triplets · 23/07/2008 09:51

Trips - thinking about you darling. Got my lads pictures up on the wall now We have made a little corner in the living room with our fav pictures and we have a tall lamp there. Space to put some candles and a lovely vase for some flowers. OMG I have made it sound like a shrine

Do you want me to come and duff H up for you Trips

tkband3 · 23/07/2008 12:20

Forgot to say last night, thank you so much for all the lovely good wishes for yesterday. I do love Mumsnet.

Well today, you'd never know that DD1 had had an operation yesterday - she's playing perfectly normally with the DTs. She wants to go into school this afternoon (it's the last day of term) to say goodbye to her friends and teachers so I think I might take her in, just for the last hour or so.

Trips, totally understand you being so fed up with H. You are both dealing with such tricky emotions at the moment, and of course, being a man, H doesn't talk about anything does he? . Thinking of you lots.

Momma, is it the gluten in the fishfingers you have to avoid? I've just checked DD1's free from ones and they are free from dairy as well and don't appear to have any soya in them either. If it's something else (and you're craving a fishfinger sarnie like I am now with all this talk of them , let me know and I'll check the box again for you.

Have had a v. satisfying morning clearing out the playroom - consequently the girls have re-discovered lots of their old toys and have played beautifully all morning . Hope it lasts all summer .

Well done TKB and DD1. It's a relief eh?

Trips, I agree with TK about the tricky emotions... It's bound to play havoc. Go with it, go with it...

Thanks for the nice mental image of RRR riding her bike into a muddy river

And - welcome home Shabs. Glad your boys are comfortable.

And - Well bounced HM!

shabster · 23/07/2008 16:58

Well girls - no bond money!! Housing Benefit was stopped about a week ago and was started for the new house. Landlord said that our £200 bond wont even cover the rent we owe him. I rang Housing benefit and they said he is correct to keep it.

My DH all 5ft 4in of him and 54 years old almost got into a punch up with landlord. DH screamed at him like there was no tomorrow and grabbed him by the shirt. This may sound childish but I was very proud of him - the landlord is so very very arrogant. I know it is not the right way to conduct yourself but I am still proud of him. We have had many difficult years in our marriage but we were a good team today.

This is not even a storm in a teacup we have faced bigger and harder problems and we are still here.

Shabs, why does the housing benefit on the old house not dovetail with the new house? [confused ol moo] Sorry, I've probably missed that.......if you get housing benefit it should surely dovetail no matter where you are living.

Ruby your day sounded fab!!! Up here in kiltland we are on week four of the hols! Only four to go...........

shabster · 23/07/2008 19:21

The housing association insisted their rent go from the day we accepted the house and the council wont pay rent on two properties.

You know what - 'what goes around comes around' will bite his arse bum.

Rubester I dont get that feeling very often - I was proud of me owd fella.

frumpygrumpyhasPMT · 23/07/2008 20:15

Shabs, I'd be so mad with the housing association. Really. You don't pay a mortgage on the day you say you'll buy a house. You don't pay for a car the day you sign up to buy it. You don't pay for a funeral until someone has died. You don't pay for a meal in a restaurant until you've eaten it. You don't pay for any goods on credit card until they hold you over hot coal. Why should the rent start the day you accept a property? Was it empty? Even so. Housing Association Bastards. Scuse me. Bastards again. I think that is truly shit on their part.

MarsLady · 23/07/2008 22:07

Well done Mr Shabby

I agree with FG about the HA... bastards!

FG... stick to YOUR plan. NO other family. It's the DTs' party (and they'll cry if they want to).

TK... good to hear that "the little girl" is doing well and that the op was a success. The DTs want to know if the little girls are coming for a picnic tonight/tomorrow/in a minute!

Getting a wee bit worried about Tigs

MERLYPUSS · 23/07/2008 22:51

ok, so who else is having bad hayfever symptoms? I was never this bad before DTs. AND my excema cleared up before I bacame pregnant. They have a lot to answer to those pesky pair.
Solids are going well after a rocky start. I think we were starving them as Isaac only put on 4oz in the past 2 weeks but today has pigged out like it's going out of fashion. Ate anything that wasn't nailed down.
Off to blitz chicken and brocolli for tomorrow. night-night.

piximon · 23/07/2008 22:53

Mars I'm really interested in back carriers. The soft toddler ones look nice (and expensive) but don't know how comfy/easy in real life. Also what age/weight do they cover, could I use same one for Prince and a dt or need two sizes?
Prince is really long and heavy, he bangs my legs when walking so wondered if he'd be better on my back. Don't want to try trading mine till I know if I'd be better off.
Still trying to convince DH to drive me down sat and back sunday night, but not making much headway.

piximon · 23/07/2008 23:05

FG I think you should give the dts the party you want to have. However I know I would bow into the pressure and do the family thing. Thank you for your text, been trying to find time to reply all day. I would love to take you up on the offer, but worry about postage costs from all the way up there to all the way down here.

piximon · 23/07/2008 23:07

Merly - the mums at the school have been complaining about how bad their hayfever is. Even my eyes have been itching lately.

MarsLady · 23/07/2008 23:20

If you need a bed Pixi I have a bed!

If I get there (am on call so may not make it) I'll keep my eye out!

Happy Birthday Tomster . Have a lovely day. Shabby at the housing association for you.

Rubes, all my girls would be very of your trip today. I looked at taking them to HSM, but was at the prices, particularly with 3 to take! DD1's birthday presents this year had a common theme - HSM dancemat, microphone, Sharpay doll, pompoms and cheerleading costume, sticker books, magazines and an HSM Top Trumps game (which I think I was more excited about than she was - for the nostalgia value you understand ). Then yesterday we went shopping with her birthday money from my aunt...and we got a Gabriella doll, complete with microphone . I can't cope with any more !

Mars, the little girls are free for picnic/meeting up most afternoons for the next 3 weeks (I have them booked into summer jail school in the mornings next week ). Then we are off on holiday [yippee emoticon] .

tkband3 · 24/07/2008 08:57
