Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MERLYPUSS · 12/08/2008 23:27

Yeah ! Go for it Shabby. Play (everybodies free to wear) sunscreen.

shabster · 12/08/2008 23:27

Trips I havent watched them yet - I have put them in Matts 'running away case' for safety. My great aunt (was 102 when she died) left me a small battered suitcase that Matt used to pack when we had fallen out with each other. In it went his hot water bottle, teenage mutant Ninja turtles, some sweets and a picture of Webecca!! He never did actually leave home. I will watch them asap - just wanted you to know they are very safe.

shabster · 12/08/2008 23:33

Peter Kay always helps!!

Pixie - what cheers me up?

Dry roasted peanuts
Cheese and Onion Crisps
Peter Kay
Robbie Williams
Getting on the plane from Manchester Airport to Rhodes

I will be just fine and dandy - dont worry.

triplets · 12/08/2008 23:35

I have no fears about that Shabs, just feel you would enjoy them, though you will want of fast forward lots of bits Im sure.Grrrrrrrrrr I have just heard James whispering to Tom Tom, they know it causes me grief, what to do? H will go spare shortly.............again! May I have that spare bed if Shabs cant make it

triplets · 12/08/2008 23:36

Shabs...........what does Dotster say about the situation?

MERLYPUSS · 12/08/2008 23:41

I have no idea Trips how to deal with your two but if you crack it let me know for the future. I can be quite mean with my cub scouts when they are all exited and dizzy on camp and wont sleep but when you are their parent I suppose a 'hard stare and a good talking to' doesn't cut the mustard.
the song I requested was the one we played at Jamie's humanist funeral. The words are very appropriate and I look back on them quite often and they provoke strong feelings. Mainly laughter about the hair line. He had blue and red dread locks just before he died. Bloody nutter
Night peeps xx

shabster · 12/08/2008 23:42

Dotster makes the whole thing worse....she keeps saying things like 'Oh love they are taking advantage of you.' 'I hope Dan and Em dont split up.' etc etc etc. My mums memory is going really awful as well - she is a real worry. Strong history of alzhaimers (sp??) in her family which doesn't help.

Right - no more moaning!! Just got a text from Nikos 'I miss your smiley face and your love - hope we meet again soon.' Told you Trips he fancies the pants off me!!

shabster · 12/08/2008 23:44

for Merly

I have heard this before - it is great

triplets · 12/08/2008 23:59

Trouble is these days I never go to bed before midnight, takes me so long to actually get to sleep, bells ringing in my ears like Quasimodos!! Hope you can sleep well, kale nits my special friend, kale nits xxxxx

shabster · 13/08/2008 00:02

Morning all, havent posted for a while, DP managed to get home for 3 weeks all last minute, so i am not alone for August Yippeeee !!!

DD2 doing well, been back again to see new consultant, hes lovely, still investigating various solutions, she is much better with draining twicw a week, it seems to keep her more even. Although, it is the summer hols and she is 4 weeks post chemo, so i'm sure all this helps !! Still v skinny though.

Wedding plans picking up a gear, off to military tailors today to get DP uniform altered, flower lady tomorrow afternoon and order cake next week. Also had bridesmaid fitting, dresses lovely !! Still desperately dieting !!! went for a run with my dog at 9 last night. DD1 and DD2 going to do readings aaaahhhhhhhhh !!

DD3's feet/ankles really turning in v badly still, although she is walking, without peidro bootss on they return to turning right in, am still hoping this will improve.

Alls well otherwise !!

I hope you are all well, Trips i am sorry you are being messed around, i know exactly where you aare coming from, i wont bore you all, but i have some tales to tell about being messed around !!!

Shabs sorry about how you feel, is there any way you could have Lewis for a little while on your own, for some cuddles Q.T. ???

oooggs · 13/08/2008 08:54

shabs - oh dear it doesn't seem that Ems mum is helping matters, poor Dan - what a nasty thing to say about him/anyone - he is trying so hard to keep his family together (him, Em & Lewis) I'm not suprised you are .

Yes I favour my mum (who is local) over my MIL (who lives away) but if they both lived close by I would use welcome help from both of them. I wouldn't exclude my MIL from her grandchildren

I really feel for you

shabster · 13/08/2008 09:07

Thanks for your thoughts girls

Lydle - I am having Lew on the 23rd August while they go out - it was Emmas suggestion so I am really glad.

I am a very sarcastic person and I am having to bite my tongue so much. The fun begins on Thursday when Danny has to go back in work because there is no one to cover him in the office. I bet he will feel some sort of relief to get back to the Real world

Although, knowing my son he will be panicking all day.

Please dont get me wrong girls I adore Em as if she was my own daughter and...well Im sure you know my love for my son. Lewis' arrival was mind blowing and I love him. Its just a horrible feeling of jealousy that I have. I hate jealousy but I feel it now as strong as I did when I was four and my brother was born. HOW PATHETIC I am almost 52.

Hiya Rubester - I know what you are trying to say love. Ems mum was controlled all her life by a very domineering mum. She was told who she could see and when etc etc.

Now her mum has passed away she likes to control her two daughters. I understand that completly because it is the way she was raised. The same as me, my mum didnt often shout and smack but she would lower her voice and get upset - thats what I do.

I like Ems mum - we always get along but that one sentence about Dan sent him just over the edge and I dont blame him.

I hope Em is soon Em again - I miss the old Em xx

shabster · 13/08/2008 09:25

Sorry Lydle for 'banging on' about nowt!!

Agree with Rubester on the 'you amaze me' bit.

  • like my DH says 'you can talk a glass eye to sleep woman!'
triplets · 13/08/2008 10:09

Morning girls, kids just asked if they could use the pc and lap top, no I said you are not sitting on there all day!! They will now split on me for being here myself! H is in the hospital, left at 7.45am so goodness knows whats happening! Raining again and I`m broke, any suggestions? Hope eveyone is having a better day, nice to hear from you Lydle xx

triplets · 13/08/2008 10:10

Soon be the 1000th message girls, get thinking!

gruesomefoursome · 13/08/2008 10:21

Morning ladies, I'm going to sound really strange here but i was always closer to my MIL than i was to my own mum, i turned to her for everything. Shabs just keep on going hon, keep telling yourself that you are the best nana in the world and as for |Ems mum, tell her to forth and multiply on her own!!! Dan has been a brilliant hubby to em and adores the both of them x

shabster · 13/08/2008 12:56

Ruby, this is Tom. We have just got your card, it was ace!!!

HarrogateMum · 13/08/2008 13:01

oh Shabs and Trips - what nightmares you are having. I wish I could help in some way!

I have to say that given my MIL lives in Aus and isnt the most maternal person in the world, I am much closer to my own Mum. Infact my MIL said to us when we were in Aus a few months ago that she hoped we wouldnt mind but she would not be making any more trips to England...i.e. if we dont go there, she will never see her grandchildren. And when they were trying to sit on her knee and get her attention she just brushed them off........so everyone is different!

I agree with PIxi - are you sure there isnt anything we could send that might make you smile both of you?
