Don't do the party FG I'm 100% behind you on that one - I just can't cope with these things... Now I'M feeling the guilt for even thinking that . So have the party at someone else's house. While you go and get your nails done he he.

frumpygrumpyhasPMT · 22/07/2008 16:09

Thanks ag Thats one for no 'do'. I'm counting girls..........

tkband3 · 22/07/2008 16:40

We're home . All done with no complications. DD was an absolute star - skipped all the way to the operating theatre holding mine and DH's hands. Then I left them at the door, barely fighting back the tears till they were out of sight. I went back once she was in recovery and cuddled her when she came round. Then once we were back on the ward watching cbeebies and she'd had a drink, she perked right up and had a lovely time - painting (paper as well as herself, the bed, the table etc ), sticking, reading, drawing and watching telly. The nurses were lovely. And we were discharged about 3. So glad it's all over - it was nothing really in the larger scheme of things but that doesn't matter when it's your little girl. I met a mum on the ward who I know from DD1's school who was in with her 4 month old DS who isn't gaining weight - he was having all sorts of tests, including the sweat test for cystic fibrosis .

Anyway, FG - I'm with AG...no party except for what you have planned. The first 2-3 years or so, I have made sure to include the grandparents etc in the girls' birthday celebrations but now I have their party for their friends and the relations can drop in at other times convenient to us and them! Can you take your DCs to your gran's house for a private party ?

tkband3 · 22/07/2008 16:42

It took me a long time to type all that - lots of interruptions . 2 votes for you now FG .

shabster · 22/07/2008 16:50

I would invite just Gran - my Grandma Elsie died about 6 years ago and she was so fantastic - yep just Gran

HarrogateMum · 22/07/2008 17:40

FG - as the others have said, totally agree...

HarrogateMum · 22/07/2008 18:27

ps FG have emailed you.

frumpygrumpyhasPMT · 22/07/2008 19:12

I am glad to hear your views. Thanks girls. I think I'm veering to keeping it just us (as much as we can with various other pop ins). I do feel sad for my gran but I can't have her up on her own, I'd need my parents too. She's adorable but she can need as much care as another child at times! Maybe my parents could bring her up after work.......

TKB, so glad all went well. There is something about children and hospitals that just makes your heart shake. The two just shouldn't go together. And so I am glad all is well and that it was as good as can be.

Right, HM, I have two in the bath so I will nip round to my email now.......reply when I can.......

frumpygrumpyhasPMT · 22/07/2008 19:13

Oh Momma! He's just back! He's like my DP!

Here hen, come on out of the glass house, you'll roast in there

Decision made. I'm gonna pray for sunny dry weather and hire the wee bouncy castle!!!!!! Yeah! I'm going to accommodate everyone else as best I can but I'm taking the main part of the day for me. For me to enjoy my kids and let them have a smiley mum. They will adore the bouncy castle (we got one last year too only with heaps more people ), they keep mentioning having nursery friends "to my party" but in all honesty they have neither of them made a particular friend, there is just a bunch of kids who all play in and out. And I don't really know any of the parents. And that would be complicated.......

estar meant to say, my DTs go to a private nursery 3 semi-days a week (I pay til 6pm but I collect at 3pm when I get DD1 from school or before). One DT doesn't mind it, one hates it. My guilt means I make the days there as short as possible. They are not booked into the school nursery and so, no, no school for them until next August when they start Primary 1.

frumpygrumpyhasPMT · 22/07/2008 20:08

Momma, have fun at the film! Hope its good! Tell all later....

frumpygrumpyhasPMT · 22/07/2008 21:29

I'm off for a fish finger sarnie and bed. Still got the dull head thing......I'm sure its my damn period. Same ol crap. No more than 3 weeks between them, heavy, with just a few days of feeling ok after one. Then it all starts again, sore outbreak of spots, sore head, zzzzzzzzzzz.

I AM BORING MYSELF!!!!

Night all xxxx.

piximon · 22/07/2008 21:48

night night FG. I love fish finger sandwiches, with vinegar on them.

shabster · 22/07/2008 23:54

Morning girls.....some things never change do they? Up before the lark as usual. Putting my boys photo's up as soon as I can today - then this house will be our home!!

Meeting with ex landlord this afternoon, housing association fella coming at 8am to check the gas and actually put it on for us! Been bad mix ups with the gas for 2 days but hopefully this morning it will be sorted.

Tommys birthday tomorrow - poor kid it has been overlooked this week.

shabster · 23/07/2008 05:57

Do you know which island it is filmed on Momma? Even Faliraki is beautiful - very commercialised on the main roads but stunning everywhere else.
